Mimikyu felt very much welcomed by Volcanion's volcanic presence, making her feel less judged as the steam powered Pokemon didn't care what any other Pokemon would think of him or his strange type combination. Volcanion knew of the predicament Mimikyu was going through, however. He would often tell her that every Pokemon would go through this phase of feeling like they were judged for any little thing that have done, even if it was insignificant. Mimikyu was more afraid of Pokemon thinking that all she did was copy certain more well known Pokemon with her appearance of mimicry.
But Volcanion pointed out that a few Pokemon shared some traits with each other and managed to put their own spin on it, making Mimikyu feel comfortable in the process. With this in mind, Mimikyu felt rather happy with herself, no longer feeling that she would be looked at as a mere copycat, but rather just doing her own version of a shared concept. Overall, Mimikyu was thankful to have someone like Volcanion with her, which made traveling much easier and more enjoyable. This also pleased Volcanion, as he was happy to do his best to make any fellow Pokemon feel comfortable, especially as his steam was hot but refreshing.
