Aelita slid the money to the Taxi driver who managed to get them to the Factory. He tried to ask questions, but a swift 10 Euro stopped them. He soon speeds away with all of Jeremie's emergency money. She turned and joins the others on the bridge. Ulrich held an arm out and a finger to his lips.
"You hear that?" He asked, jerking a head to the Factory. Aelita closed her eyes to hear it better. Distant clamors of steel hitting steel and dark laughter reached her. She opened her eyes and nodded to the others.
"Yumi, Odd, go right. Stay with me Princess to the left. We will go to the door, and then army crawl to the edge to see what is happening. We'll plan out an attack or something once we know more." He instructed the group. Odd and Yumi walked to the far right of the bridge and began to creep to the massive loading bay door. Aelita and Ulrich did the same to the left, heading to the door. The sounds of a distant battle got louder and louder the closer they got. They all leaned against the frame and peeked in. Without anything in sight, They all fell to the ground and moved forward. The sight that greeted them was one to remember.
Aelita could instantly spot Jeremie, hiding behind some boxes. She would of called out, but the notched arrow of his stopped them all. She glanced around and spotted the cause of the fight. Shrieking sound sprang up as a massive blade drag on the ground. The raven hair boy in black and red soon lifted it onto is shoulders. As he turn, Aelita made out his face and the red logo.
William. William was on Earth, just like Jeremie. His annoyed scowl look was one she learn all too well about when he tried to force her off the edge of Lyoko. Aelita felt her eyes widen as he was heading to Jeremie.
"You fight well…for a programmer. But you won't win Belpois. Once those friends of yours get here, I will kill them all and make you watch. You can watch their life drain away, knowing you could of stopped me before. What a better, more fitting end to these battles we fight then that? Maybe if you lick my boot I will kill you quickly once their all dead. " William rang out in that XANA tone of his. He powered up a strike and disintegrated the box on Jeremie's right. Jeremie covered his face and turn and stood.
"NEVER!" Jeremie yelled before letting the arrow fly. It just barely missed William who had to jerk left. Jeremie used that to hide a few feet over, behind a new box. Aelita watched as William turn to face him…A back now turned to the ropes. She wasted no time in grabbing one and motioned for the others to go. She silently slid down it and landed with a soft thud.
Jeremie glanced a look to spot William and must of seen Aelita behind him. His jaw went slack as Aelita put a finger to her lips. But William must of seen it as well for he turned to look as well.
"There they are. Here to save the day as usual. But not this time… DIE!" William yelled as he came at Aelita. Aelita gasped at the incoming boy, holding a hand up in a mock defense. She knew it was pointless to even try.
Unlike Lyoko, there was going to be no lifepoints to lose. No voice in her ear to keep fighting or to warn her. Time seem to slow down to her. Odd, Ulrich and Yumi, still falling down the ropes above as their feet got stuck in them. The wild grin of the raven haired boy. The grin that told the tale of a possessed boy about to kill the one person who can stop the controlling being. She closed her eyes, ready to accept her fate.
But soon, a force knocked her down. A clang rang out as metal hit metal. Aelita landed with a small thud to the ground. She opened her eyes to the strange sight before her.
With a grunt, he fell to one knee. Both arms held the curved bow in them up and across. It held strong to the long blade that was trying to smash it. William let a massive growl in annoyance at Aelita's defender. The blonde boy growled back and managed to somehow stand up. The force of movement pushed the blade off the bow. A swift kick to his gut and William went flying across the floor.
"LEAVE MY ANGEL ALONE!" Jeremie called out to the distant boy. He turned and smiled at Aelita. He bent down and held a hand out for her. Rays of light hit his armor just right as Aelita took in the marvelous sight of Jeremie with a light aura around him. "Are you okay Aelita?" He asked her as he helped her up.
Maybe fate was playing a trick on her, but Aelita stumbled forward and into his arms. Jeremie held her close as look over her smiling face. Not even caring that the others were hitting the ground, Aelita reached up and pulled his digital lips into hers. Sure, they could not feel it, like kissing air. But the emotions they shared in that moment let them believe it to be true.
They pulled away when a distant box bounced around towards them. Jeremie pushed Aelita gently into Yumi. HE had a now stern look on his face. It was a way to remind them all the danger they are in.
"Get Aelita to Lyoko, she can handle the transfers. I'll do what I can to keep William busy. Just hurry it up guys. I don't know how much longer I can stay on Earth. It won't e long before XANA pulls me back in." Jeremie turned to tell the others. An arrow slid gracefully from his quiver and onto the bow.
They did not stay to ask for him to give more details. Yumi pulled the stunned girl along into the old elevator. Odd pressed down as the group watched Jeremie. He look stern, tall and defiant. No one could doubt that he was a warrior, standing to take on his foe.
As the door closed tight, a single thought was shared to Aelita's heart from the mental mind link. A thought that she knew he had, but he never said it to her face. It felt so pure and clear in her that it dared to ring a tear into her eye.
I love you always….Aelita.
Aelita held her heart and closed her eyes. She forced her own message outwards to him.
I always knew… I love you to Jeremie, always. Survive this…for me. Don't leave me alone and broken hearted.
The Elevator speed to the lab as a whisper hit her.
