Title: Missing- One lonely shoe
Author: Doc
Summary: Cristina lost her shoe. What does her other shoe have to say about it?

A/N: This is my random mussings before the dreaded dark twisty horror show we will witness tomorrow. It's all in good fun- kind of jumbled and random. References to Cristina/Owen because I'm a big hardcore CO shipper.
Dedicated to all of my COconuts out there! You know who you are!

Nike sneakers- Size six and a half with gel insole inserts. Comfy as all freaking hell. We gotta be- our owner- the Wearer, stands there for 8-10 hours at a time saving people's lives and all that stuff. We have been through a lot- and we've been tossed around many places. Surprised we have lasted this long- most shoes are replaced every 6 months. We've been around for about 4 years. We have many homes in the past few months, and we miss our friends- the size 13 black men's loafers that we have come quite accustomed to in the past few years in that firehouse. Their Wearer and ours are having problems. I hope they can work it out, because we miss our Loafer friends. I'm sure they miss each-other too.

I say we as if it's me and somebody else- it is. My partner, Lefty is missing. Not missing like a dog that ran away, but missing as in we are in the woods and Lefty may even be back in Seattle or somewhere in-between. I don't' know what to think- and apparently neither does our Wearer. She's very concerned about Lefty's safety- as am I.

Shoes are kind of like people- Without both of us on, the Wearer would be very unbalanced and unstable. She may trip and fall; she may cut her toe and have to give herself stitches, or even worse; she may resort to buying a new pair of shoes and toss us (me- I am so used to saying us because L and I are never apart) out on the side or donate me to good will. But then again, who would want just one shoe? People need to be in pairs- it balances them out, and it makes them stable. With shoes on its comfy if they get the right ones, and barefoot is comfy too because their toes just get to be free, but you just can't have one shoe on and one of. It messes with the universe. A clothing version of the butterfly effect perhaps? Unlike socks though, (which also are necessary in pairs) shoes don't get lost in the abyss of the clothes dryer. They need one another to survive and be to their full potential.

I don't know anything about medicine or people or disasters, but I do know this. I'll make our Wearers feet (foot) feel as good as it can, (and like I said earlier, we are DAMN comfy!) because she has to have at least that if she's going to make it out alive.

Cristina lost her shoe. And I am her other one.

End.

a/n: should i contine and see what happens when Lefty is found?
