A month later
Her words struck him like thunder.
"You heard it Izuna, I'm pregnant," Toka repeated slowly. "Try not to get a heart attack and die. I want my child to grow up with a dad.
"But, I thought we used protection!" Izuna gesticulated his hands frantically in the air. "This wasn't supposed to happen! How on earth are we going to deal with kids – you're barely a mentally functioning adult –"
"Oh stop it! You know you're just scared of being a dad," Toka twitched her eyebrows.
"Do you want it?" Izuna was barely recovering from his initial state of shock and panic, his breath heaving up and down, his senses as terse as if he were on an S-ranked mission.
"… Yes. Do you?" Toka admitted honestly.
"I do," Izuna nodded. "But I'm taking charge of all the feeding. And all the diaper changing. And-"
"How altruistic of you," Toka smirked.
"Let's face reality – you'd kill him or her in less than a day."
"Utter nonsense."
"You're just in denial."
"Please – I'm your one anchor to reality in your permanent state of mental delusion."
"Go kill yourself."
"I thought you wanted your kids to grow up with a dad? Oh sorry, I meant responsible parent…"
"Shut up. You planning on telling your brother?"
Izuna's face contorted in discomfort: "maybe." Imaginary scenarios of a fire-breathing Madara descending upon their household in fury or hypothetical situations of Madara being wheeled into the hospital in a state of shock did not assure Izuna's senses.
"You know he'll find out eventually."
"Fine," Izuna concurred reluctantly.
A/N: And they've finally done it! :P It's been a long way hasn't it?
Let me know about your feelings in the reviews!
Also, for some shameless self-promotion, I've recently started a story called "What Might Have Been" - it'll be nice if you guys can check it out and offer me some feedback. It's my first serious non-crack, multichaptered story.
