Izuna decided to pay his brother a visit – he was a little alarmed at Madara's horrified reaction upon hearing the news about his imminent fatherhood.
"Madara?" Izuna asked as he knocked on the door.
It flew open to reveal a still gloomy Madara.
"What?" The man said, mildly irritated.
"I want to speak to you," Izuna began.
"Come in," Madara responded gruffly.
"You need to stop being so antagonistic about Toka's pregnancy," Izuna burst out when he entered the house.
"Why?" was the monosyllabic response.
"Look, brother, I'm also the child's parent," Izuna said. "And you're the uncle. I know Toka's not your favourite person but we're all part of the same family now. Besides, she's really not that bad when you get to know her well. She's funny, if a little ill-tempered at times, she's caring when she thinks you're not noticing, she's a little wild and crazy – coming to think of it, she reminds me of you."
"Nonsense!" Madara declared.
"I love her," Izuna admitted.
"Well, you fucked her," Madara deadpanned.
"Please, brother, give her a chance! I – okay, I admit, I did not give her a chance at the beginning but-"
"Fine," Madara interjected. "For your sake, I will.
Izuna smiled a smile that spoke of pure relief and happiness.
"I'm so glad-"
"You're my brother," Madara said as he cut Izuna short. "And you're the one thing that matters most to me in the world. If you're happy, I'm happy."
"You-"
"If Toka strains you too much with her pregnancy outbursts, you're always welcome at my house."
Izuna hugged his brother for the first time in many years (he simply thought it was a little improper for two grown men – though brothers – to do that) and remarked: "You're going to have very cute nieces and nephews. And they're going to have a crazy mum and a crazy uncle."
"Hey!" Madara complained indignantly.
"Anyways, brother, I've perfected the art of making ramen," Izuna said as he whipped out the ingredients on the table. "I've been … attending cooking classes – but don't tell Toka, she's going to laugh. Would you like to try some?"
"You can't be serious?!"
"I am."
"Well," Madara scoffed. "You can't be worse than Hashirama – and believe me, his failed, half-cooked ramen is terrible."
"… Thanks."
"Go ahead!"
