The bright light of the sun making it's way above the horizon, piercing through the plastic sealing on the window and into my eyes. I could hear the distant sounds of gunfire as I lifted myself off of the bed in a small studio I had found. I managed to eat a few bites of a can of beans I had found in one of the cupboards before collecting my gear, placing my bask back on, and began making my way out into the ruins of a fascinating city.

Jhon slipped out of the door to find it had become significantly colder today, not to mention foggy. He made his way to Broadway and began following in up further into the Dark Zone. Eventually passing the Empire State Building to find looters scavenging the area. He moved along and out of their way, he wasn't about to kill people for just trying to survive.

He continued moving deeper into the Dark Zone, frequently avoiding those few people that were actually around. Most of the time, he would get a bad vibe and just swing wide and avoid them. By midday, it was slightly below freezing and Jhon was far into the city. He was getting close now, to the Central Park Mass Grave; close to the last place where the rest of his squad was seen.

As he wove between the buildings and avoiding conflict, Jhon soon began seeing even more bodies covering the street on both sides. A feeling of disgust washed over him as he looked towards the hundreds of deceased men, women and children. More people he didn't save, another few hundred combined years of life lost.

Jhon looked up the road to see a pair of military looking figures up ahead with their weapons drawn; and looking for someone. He began folling the pair at a distance while trying to to be seen as they looked around.
