Chapter 54-The Coming & The Sign
Finca and Arasies fly together in harmony for several hours before Finca decides to stop and rest. She lands harshly and Tamli nearly slips from her back.
"Be more careful next time okay," he instructs as he slides off her back.
Sorry Tamli, Finca says. I am tired and have not eaten in several weeks.
Several weeks? Arasies growls questioningly.
Yes that's right, Finca replies, tensing up.
What's wrong? Tamli asks.
Nothing, Finca says as she sighs and closes her eyes. When will this pain cease? She wonders as the pain that had built up in her chest dies down.
Geer crawls over and turns his head toward her chest.
Pain? He questions.
Finca growls at her son.
None of your business! She snarls before feeling the return of the pain in her chest.
Her sharp growl is cut off suddenly. Arasies growls and tells Tamli to look.
Finca! Tamli screams as he sees that his former Guardian has slipped to the ground and is unconscious. Quick Arasies, fly us to the Dominion of the Beasts!
Very well Tamli, Arasies answers as she spreads out her leathery white wings.
Meanwhile, Tronay awakens to find herself clutched in Aurora's front clawed paws.
What happened? She wonders as the mighty blue dragoness soars over Twilight Forest.
Sundar and I found you in the castle. You were held down by chains. Why? Aurora asks.
I . . . Tronay stammers. What do I tell her? I can't tell her about Nira! She thinks. I got lost, she answers.
The chains? Aurora questions.
Chains? What chains? I don't remember any chains being in there with me, Tronay says.
Fine. I believe you, Aurora growls. We will land shortly.
Tronay sighs and then clutches her chest.
The baby can't be coming this soon, she thinks as she cringes in pain.
Tronay? Aurora asks.
Aurora land. My water just broke! Tronay growls.
Aurora is stunned for a moment but then spins to face the ground and folds in her wings.
Hold on then! She growls as the wind rushes past her blue wings as she strains herself to get down to the ground in time.
"Breath Tronay," Sundar snaps as she helps Tronay down to the ground.
Tronay screams in pain and Aurora backs up.
Shall I go and find Sarina? She asks Sundar.
Yes, go, Sundar answers, her gaze on Tronay.
Several painful hours later, Tronay rests while holding her new daughter.
My wish has finally come true, I hold a child of my own, she thinks as she cradles her daughter.
Feeling better? Aurora questions.
"Yes I am. Thank you so much Aurora," Tronay replies.
"She had little to do with it," Sundar mutters as she lays down in the grass, her white fur blending in with the grassy stalks.
Aurora snorts in protest.
I did help out, she snaps.
Really? Did you do anything of value? Sundar questions her Guardian.
"She brought Silver and myself here," Sarina says as Silver lands on the grass. "Forgive me for my late appearance, Silver was involved in something."
"It's fine Sarina," Tronay says as she lays several feet away, leaning against the trunk of a oak tree.
A new offspring brings with it an age of darkness, Silver mutters, her eyes closed.
"Silver!" Tronay growls.
Don't do that! Sarina snaps.
This is true. Last time I foretold of an offspring bringing an age of darkness was when Dartz was born and look what happened! Silver snarls, opening her eyes and narrowing them to mere yellow slits.
Tronay is about to say something when she is stopped by Aurora's harsh growl.
Dartz was an exception, this child is blessed under the sign of the dragon, Aurora snarls.
Tronay gazes down at her daughter and then looks at Aurora.
"Is that true? My daughter was born under the sign of the dragon?" She questions.
"It's true," Both Sarina and Sundar say.
Meanwhile, Arasies soars over a peaceful running stream.
"How much longer?" Tamli shouts over the wind.
Not much but she might not make it . . .
"I don't care! Finca shall live!" Tamli screams. And I shall ensure it.
With that, he closes his eyes and focuses all of his strength into Finca.
You shall survive and so will I, Tamli thinks as his transfers his strength to his former Guardian.
