A/N: I promised I would try to stick to uploading more regularly, and I apologise. I've been swamped with Uni assignments, and time just got away from me. It's kind of weird, how fast things just fly by. I mean, one day it's Friday, and the weekend is about to start, the next it's Monday night, and you have to work tomorrow. Anyway, I will try try try my best to upload the last few chapters of this story consecutively, it just depends with uni. To everyone still reading, thank you, and I'm sorry. I hope you're still enjoying this story. Enjoy. JusticeIsn'tEasy0083. D.

Chapter Twenty: The First College Christmas

FLASHBACK

Alisha and Finn return to their suite in the Victoria Hotel at about two am that morning. Both fall into the bed, still dressed in their party clothes. When she wakes in the morning, Alisha rushes into the bathroom, and leans over the toilet bowl. She must have eaten too much, or drank too much last night, because she feels terrible. Finn finds her, leaning against the bathroom wall. She has a pounding headache, and her stomach is in shambles. He takes her back to the bed, tells her to lie down, he's going to go out and get her some stuff from the store. He pulls on a jacket, puts his shoes on, grabs the key and leaves the room. He makes it down the hall, and into the elevator, before he begins overthinking everything. She didn't drink much last night, nor eat anything particularly bad that could have made her sick. He shakes it off, and pulls out his phone. Alisha sits upright, and runs back into the bathroom, rummaging through her toiletries, until she finds what she's looking for. The box has been staring at her for two weeks. This isn't how she planned for this to happen. She wanted to have a career first. She's working herself up and she doesn't even know if that's what it is yet. Finn is flipping through the list he made, when he comes across something unexpected. It's a phone number for a clinic in LA, where Alisha must have made an appointment. It's for Monday afternoon. Figuring it's just a check-up, Finn flips to the page he wrote his list on, and doesn't think anything else of it. He's being paranoid to be honest. When he returns to the hotel room, he isn't surprised to find his girlfriend is back in the bathroom, sitting on the floor. She looks up when he walks in, holding medicine that he says is supposed to help with nausea, but stops talking when Alisha sighs loudly. Finn looks at her, worried, and asks her if there is something else wrong, because he found he number for the clinic. Alisha looks up at him and wants so badly to pretend that it's something else, to not have to worry about his reaction when she tells him the truth, but he's sounding so worried and when he says about the clinic she knows she should tell him the truth.

'Finn, I'm pregnant…'

When Kurt woke on Tuesday December 1st, he was surprised that Blaine wasn't lying beside him. Tuesday's and Thursday's are the only two days they have off together, and usually, they spend them just lying in bed, talking or watching something on TV, or doing other things in bed that don't involve talking, if you get what he means. Finally, when Kurt manages to pull himself from the warmth, he gets up and opens the bedroom door, only to be assaulted by the smell of gingerbread, and sounds of Christmas carols blasting from the CD player in the lounge. Of course, Nick and Jeff would be already decorating for Christmas. It's the first of December. Every year, when December comes around, and it gets colder out, Nick starts planning for Christmas. He starts planning for it in October. But it's gone over the top this year. Their tree looks amazing, honestly it does. Kurt can't begrudge his best-friend's decorating, because it's insane. To say that though, he's gone a little overboard in the mistletoe, and every step Kurt takes, he finds himself standing under it. Rolling his eyes to himself, he turns to Nick and asks when Blaine is, because he knows that his boyfriend doesn't have class, or a recording session today. Jeff is about to reply, when the front door opens, and a disgruntled looking Blaine enters the room, carrying bags that he hauls into the kitchen, the other three following. Nick is looking through the first bag, and asking Blaine whether he got the ingredients they need for their Christmas cupcakes, and gingerbread houses. Frustrated by all the questions, Blaine just shoves the bags at Nick, and tells him that next time he wants something, he should face the cold snow himself, and go get it, before storming back into the house, and slamming what Kurt thought was their bedroom door. Obviously, something had happened between the time Blaine woke up and when he got back.

Burt and Carole were so used to having their children in the house for Christmas, that it was strange for them to be heading to Massachusetts to spend Christmas with Klaine and Niff. They haven't actually seen the new house all decked out, and Carole is excited, just to be seeing her boys. Finn and Alisha are flying over to spend Christmas in Mass as well, with the promise that next year, they're all going to fly to LA. Carole almost had to scoff at her son's request, but she thinks they might be able to do it, and perhaps one year, she can convince them to come back to Ohio for Christmas. Burt is driving, and Carole is just taking in the scenery. She can't believe that her boys have their own little lives, and are working towards becoming something amazing. She remembered when Finn was younger, and wanted to be just like his dad. She's still getting over how grown up both her children are. Kurt and Blaine are living in Massachusetts, and Finn and Alisha in LA, and she and Burt are back in Lima. Back where it all began for most of them. They were careful driving in the unpredictable weather conditions, and made it to Klaine and Niff's house later than they had planned, but regardless, were finally there. Burt carried their bags inside, and after they had greeted everyone, Blaine led them through to the first guest bedroom, and let them get settled, before announcing that Kurt is cooking dinner, and it will be ready in fifteen minutes. Burt nodded, and stopped for a moment, after Blaine had walked away, thinking back to a time when it was just him and Kurt, and his son would cook and come into his room, telling him that dinner would be 'just a moment' or for him to 'get off the chair and come eat'. He smiled at the memory, and wrapped his arms around Carole. They just stayed like that, hugging for a moment, until Kurt and Finn entered the room and Finn started making gagging noises, and made them promise that they wouldn't have, and Kurt had to laugh "old people sex" in the room beside theirs. Burt just winked at Carole, before following their two boys out to the dining room.

It was Kurt who noticed something up with Alisha. Usually, she would be very bubbly, and eat everything on the plate, but she just pushed food around with her fork, and wasn't very engaged in the conversation, almost looking as if the food was making her gag. Kurt has an inkling that Alisha might be pregnant. Only because she hasn't eaten anything, when he offered her a champagne earlier, she refused, and she always has a champagne, she excused herself to go to the bathroom more than usual, and she and Finn are always somehow touching each other's hands. Also, his brother seems too often, to be putting a hand on her stomach and silently asking her questions, which should be a dead giveaway, but Finn thinks he's so good. Burt hasn't noticed, and Carole, well she was told that Alisha just wasn't feeling the best. But Kurt knew. He could tell a mile off, from the moment she walked into the house, and started making weird faces. When Blaine told her what they were eating, she cringed, as if telling them that she couldn't eat the food, would be physically impossible. Without looking like he's staring at her, Kurt watches his future sister-in-law, push food around on her plate, stab something with her fork, pick it up, sniff it, almost gag, then put it back down. He knows his cooking isn't that bad. He has a fair idea of what is going on. Nick and Jeff have engaged Carole and Burt in a hearty discussion, whilst Alisha is talking softly with Blaine. Kurt asks Finn if he can talk to him in the study for a moment, and frowning, the taller of the brothers nods and stands, following Kurt down the hall. Once they're out of earshot and the door is closed, Kurt rounds on his brother and asks what the hell is going on with Alisha, because he knows she's not just sick. He then goes through the list he made in his head, before stating that he knows she's pregnant, and that he can't hide anything from him. Finn looks like a deer in the headlights, but also a sense of relief briefly washes over his eyes, before he turns and runs a hand down his face, sitting on the couch, and asking Kurt what he's supposed to do now.
'Alisha is pregnant,' Kurt said, and Finn looked up at him, nodding

'What are we going to do? We're freshmen in college Kurt. Of course, we've talked about having kids, but we meant in the future,' Finn said, standing and pacing

'You're not suggesting that she… you know… terminate it? Because there are other options. Finn, I know the two of you can do this. You can raise this baby. Yes, you're only nineteen, and yes, it will be hard, but I have faith that both of you can do this. Besides, I'll be an amazing uncle,' he replied, and Finn chuckled

'You just wanted to put that out there didn't you? Thanks Kurt, I need to talk to Alisha,' Finn said, hugging his brother, before leaving the study.

FLASHBACK

Kurt and Blaine discuss their relationship.

For a while, it had been undecided. They weren't really sure what was going on. Blaine knows that he's in love with Kurt, and Kurt knows that he's head over heels for the Lead Warbler. Now, they're spread out on Blaine's bed in the dorm he shares with Jeff, lightly kissing, but the passion between them is building, and Blaine is trying to hide the fact that he's turned on, by pulling his hips back, so they're not touching Kurt, but the other boy keeps moving closer to him. Finally, giving into the fact that he's a hot mess, Blaine straddles Kurt, pressing their crotches together, and the moans that both boys let go, are loud and long awaited. Kurt looks into Blaine's eyes, seeing the love that resides within them, and is about to pull his boyfriend back into a heated kiss, when he is beaten to the punch by Blaine, who is also unbuttoning his shirt, and running his hand up Kurt's exposed torso, playing with the nipple, and resting his hand below his chin, on his neck. Kurt moans, and presses their hips together, and this makes Blaine break out of whatever funk he's in, and climb off Kurt, getting off the bed, and turning so that he's not facing his boyfriend. To say that Kurt is confused, is an understatement. Sure, they haven't really done much else other than make out, and they haven't seen each other without clothes on (shirtless doesn't count), but Blaine's reaction seems… very odd. When the Lead Warbler has composed himself enough, he turns back to Kurt, and almost loses his resolve again, when he sees Kurt's hair, messed up from their make out session, and his shirt still opened, pants tight against his body. Blaine tells Kurt that before anything else happens between them, they need to discuss their relationship. What they want, whether they're ready for sex… how they think all of this is going to affect their relationships in the future. Kurt nods, and moves so that he's sitting facing Blaine, legs crossed on the upper end of the bed, whilst Blaine copies his position on the lower end. Kurt pulls his shirt closed, and re-clasps the bottom few buttons, before turning his attention back to Blaine, who is trying hard not to just jump him, because he wants to be like that with Kurt… he really does… but he doesn't want to rush anything.

Kurt tells Blaine that he's been talking to Nick about… all that stuff… and whilst Nick keeps telling him that it's different for everyone, he feels as though he has at least a basic idea of what works and what doesn't, and also tells Blaine that they don't have to rush into it, they can take it slowly. The other boy nods, and laments that whilst Kurt was talking to Nick, he was talking to Jeff, which is weird, and also not surprising, because usually, Niff are the two people they go to, to talk about these things. Both boys are blushing as they talk, but they know that they need to before they do anything else. Blaine asks Kurt if he has a preference for top or bottom, and Kurt replies that he's up for trying both, and Blaine agrees. They also agree that maybe they should start off with a BJ, get some experience in that department, before they explore. Kurt can't say the words 'Blow Job', so shortens it to BJ, which makes Blaine chuckle, and grab Kurt's hand. They can't keep their feels from one another either, and through blushed faces, and laughter, manage to get out that they should not feel embarrassed to admit when they need to "let go" for better terms, and that they should be able to do it, when they're comfortable enough, in front of one another. Their conversation veers away from awkward sex talk, and into more easy topics, like where they want to live, and when they're going to get married, where their wedding is going to be, and what Kurt is going to wear, which then leads them into talking about clothes, and Blaine has joined Kurt at the top end of the bed, leaning back against the head-board, both under the covers, curled up to one another. Eventually, Kurt drifts off to sleep first, and Blaine just plays with his hair, and presses a soft kiss to his temple, before flicking off the lights, and snuggling down under the covers, curling up to Kurt and falling asleep. He stirs for a moment, when Kurt shuffles, and turns over, so they're front to front, cuddling. He smiles when Kurt mumbles in his sleep.

'Love you Blaine'

'I love you too Kurt,' he whispered, smiling and kissing Kurt once more, before falling back to sleep.

News on the New Directions/Warbler hotline had spread fast. The news that Alisha was pregnant had spiralled through the groups like water running out of the tap. It hadn't been a surprise to Kurt and Blaine, both already knew. But Rachel was shocked when she got a message saying that Alisha was pregnant. For a moment, she wondered if it was a joke from Santana, knowing that the woman likes to send her prank things like that, but then she noticed the chat group they had set up to keep in touch, and that everyone was congratulating Finn and Alisha on their new life. In order to process this news, Rachel starts babbling on constantly, for almost an hour to Wes, who doesn't really care that Alisha is pregnant, but does care that Rachel has reacted this way. She's reacted as if she's… not jealous per say, but upset that Finn is moving forward with Alisha and not with her. He knows it's ridiculous, because Rachel has moved on from Finn. But has she? She used to talk about him all the time, and for the last two months she's barely mentioned him. But now? She hasn't stopped talking about it, and Wes is worried. He asks her if she's upset at the fact that she found out by text, or that Finn didn't tell her himself, and she doesn't answer, she just keeps going on about how they're "only nineteen" and that it's "too early". But when she says, in spite, that she thinks Alisha is lying, Wes knows it's something more than just being annoyed at the way she found out. He tells Rachel that she needs to deal with whatever this is, in her own way, that he's going out, and when he gets back, he doesn't want to hear anything else about Finn and Alisha. Rachel, who is still rambling, doesn't seem to notice that he's gone at first, but when she finally calms down enough, to notice that her boyfriend isn't in the room with her anymore, she finally lets his words sink in. Why is she so upset that this has happened? Is it really because of the way she found out? Does she secretly resent Alisha for getting to have that life she wanted so badly, with Finn? All of this frustration causes her to slump down onto the couch, head in her hands, and sigh loudly to herself. She wants to be able to move past this, but she just has this… feeling that she can't let go of. She wants to say it isn't jealousy, but it sure as hell might be just that. She loves Wes. She wants to be with Wes. So why is she feeling this way about her ex-boyfriend's, new girlfriend's, pregnancy?

Wes had texted Riker on the way to the bar. The other former Warbler was in town to visit some relatives, and had mentioned to Wes earlier about catching up. He can finally ask Riker about what has been happening, and what he should do about the whole "Rachel" thing. They're two drinks in when the former head Warbler brings it up. Riker kind of looks at him, tilting his head, and then mentions that he was never informed that Rachel had taken control of Wes. They both chuckled, and then went back to being serious. Riker could tell that Wes more than just liked Rachel. He hadn't seen his friend like this since… well he can't remember ever seeing Wes like this, about anyone. He starts by making jokes about him and David, and then moves on to making innuendos about Rachel and Wes, before finally addressing the questions Wes had posed to him in the first place. Apparently, the former Head Warbler wasn't in the mood for jokes, and wanted to get straight down to business, which was another innuendo Riker managed to kick out before he was straight with Wes about what he should do. They sat and talked about it for what felt like hours, but was only twenty minutes, and then Riker mentioned that he had to get going, because he has to meet up with his parents, and hang with them, before flying off again tomorrow. He told Wes that he needs to talk to Rachel, and not jump to conclusions, listen to her, let her tell him how she's feeling, and try to understand, before doing anything else. Wes nods, stands to hug Riker, and then sits back down watching his friend walk away. He could always go around to Kurt and Blaine's and ask them for advice, but asking Klaine and Niff for advice is just going to lead to made teasing from them, and he's still not recovered from the 'does-she-love-me' debacle of 2013. Reluctantly, he heads back to the apartment, where Rachel is just getting off the phone. She looks up at him, and smiles, patting the couch beside her, and telling Wes that they need to talk. He sits beside her, prepared for whatever she's going to say, listening like Riker told him too.

'I am not in love with Finn. I need you to know that and believe me when I say it. I suppose, on some level, a part of me is jealous that Alisha gets to have that with him, but it's not because I love him, it's because I had always pictured that it would be me, and I guess I just got so shocked by it, I let the picture in my head take over. I am nowhere near ready to have a child, and I just want you to know, that Finn and Alisha and you and I are all fine. I love you Wes. Only you,' she said, leaning forward to kiss him, and he kissed her back happily

'I was so worried. You had been rambling on about it for like, two hours, and I jumped to the wrong conclusion. I love you too,'

'Someday, I want a child. Not now. I'm kind of glad in a way too, that it's her and not me. I don't have to worry about getting fat,' she replied

'Hey, that's not very nice' Wes replied, lifting Rachel up and carrying her into their bedroom

Christmas 2015 was being held at their house, for the first time. Kurt and Blaine had sat down with Nick and Jeff, and they had planned how they were going to decorate, because knowing Kurt, he would probably go all out. Nick and Kurt had agreed to split sections of the house, but to make sure that it was all evenly decorated, they would have final say, but the decisions have to be unanimous. Once they were all agreed, Nick went about making a list of all the things they would need, and how many tress, and decorations, lights, and little bits and bobs. Blaine had, unbeknownst to Kurt, found a Christmas themed bedspread when he was out shopping with Britt and Sanny the other day, and brought it to surprise his boyfriend with. He was going to put it on the bed tomorrow, December 24th, and surprise Kurt. It's not a huge thing, but even the small things can make Kurt's day, and he loves seeing his boyfriend's smile when Blaine does something like that for him. Jeff was talking tinsel colours with Nick, whilst Kurt watched the two of them, a faraway look in his eye. Blaine notices this happens sometimes, either that, or Kurt will start fiddling with his promise ring. He kind of just lets himself get lost in whatever he's thinking, and Blaine never knows what it's about, because he doesn't have the courage to ask Kurt what he's been thinking about. Sometimes he wonders if he should, because he could be reliving something, or hiding something, or struggling with something, but surely, Kurt would tell him if he wasn't alright, wouldn't he? They've come so far, he'd have to think that Kurt would trust him enough to tell him. Regardless, the look in Kurt's eyes is gone, and he turns back to face Blaine, Niff now having calmed down enough to be back to making a list of everything they're going to need. Kurt has to go out and buy the food, because Burt, Carole, Alisha and Finn are coming here for Christmas this year, and Nick and Jeff are going back to Westerville to spend Christmas with their families, before coming back here for school. It's kind of nice, that they're going to have the Hudson-Hummel clan all here for Christmas, their first year in the house.

Later in the evening, Kurt and Blaine were curled up on the couch, watching a movie that Jeff had put on, and then fallen asleep halfway through. Blaine was running his fingers, slowly through Kurt's hair, whilst the soon-to-be-lawyer sighed, and rested his head-on Blaine's shoulder. This was how it should have always been. He should never have had to of gone through the ordeal he did when he was six, and all the shit that Elizabeth pulled after that, and then everything with the New Directions… it was just a lot of constant drama. Now, they can just be themselves, and hopefully live their potential futures out in their own ways. Nick, after the movie had finally finished, stood to put the DVD away, and then turned to Kurt and Blaine and asked if they wanted to play something, like truth and dare, or 20 questions, or Monopoly. Kurt outright refused to play Monopoly, given Jeff's reaction the last time they played, and he hadn't been exactly winning. Blaine was all for 20 questions, which is what they ended up playing, and whilst Nick looked them up online, Kurt ran into the kitchen to grab a bowl, and make some popcorn, because he's peckish… so sue him. The first question asked them about their families, and how many siblings and all that stuff. Kurt and Blaine had to answer each time for themselves, and Nick answered for the still sleeping Jeff. Tempted as they were to wake the sleeping man, they all know what had happened last time Jeff had been woken unceremoniously, by Wes, during one of their ridiculous Dalton Shenanigan parties. Everyone had been waiting and waiting for Jeff, and he'd fallen asleep, much like tonight, whilst watching a movie. They had managed to get through twelve questions before Jeff woke himself up, and then told them that he wasn't in the mood to play, that he's going to go to bed now. Nick just gave him a quick kiss, and then went back to the game he and Kurt and Blaine were currently in the middle off. Blaine had his arm wrapped around Kurt's waist, pressing soft kisses to his boyfriend's temples. Kurt was fighting his eyes closing, usually when Blaine does that, they're snuggled together in their nice warm bed, and ready to go to sleep. He knows that he's going to be extra tired tomorrow, and tomorrow is Christmas Eve. Finally, they get to the last few questions, and Nick ends the game with a question they haven't really thought about recently…

'Where do you see yourselves in ten years?' he asked, clicking off his phone, obviously noting the end of the round

'In ten years, I am going to be a success in the music industry, whether through recording, or running my label. We're hopefully going to live in New York. I'm going to be married to Kurt, and we're hopefully going to have two beautiful children, a boy and a girl,' Blaine said, and Kurt was a little surprised that his boyfriend had thought so in depth about this

'In ten years, I am going to be a lawyer, hopefully have my own firm, or at least be a name partner at a firm. I'm going to live in New York, with Blaine and our two children, and we're going to be married,' Kurt said, mirroring mostly what Blaine had said, surprising the curly haired man

'In ten years, I'm going to be married to Jeff, hopefully we'll have built our house by then, and we'll be living in it, and we're going to have to children, twin girls. I'm going to be successful in my career, and hopefully a pillar to the community,' Nick said, but he wasn't looking at them, and he didn't sound convincing, and not wanting to pry, Kurt left it alone, stating that he's going to head up to bed, kissing Blaine, before leaving the room

It was on Christmas Day, when they were all gathered around the Niff/Klaine table for lunch, that Finn and Alisha told everyone that Alisha is pregnant. There was silence now. Burt looked… well he didn't really have an emotion on his face. Carole wasn't… upset… shocked would probably be the more appropriate word. After all the talks, she and Burt had had with Finn about being careful, and all that, this is what it had amounted to. Speaking of her husband, he was sitting silently, just looking between Finn and Alisha, there was silence all around them, and no one knew what to say in order to break the tension. Finn had mentioned that they had no plans of terminating, or adopting, that they could do this. They can have a baby. Carole told Alisha and Finn that a baby is going to be a lot of work, and they're both in college, and they both want careers, and that sometimes it can be hard to have it all, and have a baby. Kurt was silently glad that he and Blaine would never have a pregnancy scare. He's not even sure if Finn knows how he really feels about it. But he can tell that his father isn't happy. He has that disappointed face on, the one he had when Kurt had told him that he didn't want to do their tradition of dancing around in Christmas dress ups when he was ten. Of course, he was disappointed, but they made new traditions. A baby is a lifelong commitment, and Finn knows that. Alisha knows that as well, but they're adamant they can do it all. Carole tells them that they just need some time for the shock to wear off, before they can start celebrating, and tells Burt that he can relax for a while, until they have had enough time to process this calmly. Burt doesn't seem to hear, and Kurt changes the subject, to start talking about how school is going. Finn sends his brother silent thanks with his eyes, for the change in subject. Alisha remains looking at her food, avoiding the glare that Burt is sending in her direction, and pretending that her plate of food doesn't want to make her gag. Carole glances between her son's girlfriend and her husband, and kicks Burt under the table, to get him to stop glaring at the girl. Somehow, she knows this is going to end in a giant argument, but she hopes they can at least make it through presents before it gets to that stage.

After they had finished lunch, and Nick and Kurt had taken Carole on a tour of the house, the family congregated in the lounge to open presents. Burt was still not talking, and hadn't said a word since the pregnancy announcement. Alisha had been so caught up in conversation with Carole, about whether or not she was nervous, that she didn't hear Burt until he was practically yelling. Kurt was just about to hand her a gift, when his father stood up, and walked out of the room, coming back moments later and asking how Carole can be so okay with their kids throwing their lives away. Everyone was stunned into silence. Burt rambled on about how if this had of been Rachel, Carole would have been up in arms about the whole thing, and she wouldn't be making this much of a fuss, and that yeah, maybe it did have something to do with the fact that it was Rachel, but the fact that she hasn't once done anything like that really upsets him. Finn stands, and tells Burt that this is something that was unexpected, but they know that they can do it, because they've got the support of their family and friends. Burt puts his hands-on Finn's shoulders, looks his step-son in the eyes, and tells him that they're too young to be making these choices. This baby is going to change everything. The careers they've so painstakingly planned out, and are currently studying for… they're not going to happen, because they'll have a baby at home. They won't be able to go out with their friends, for the rest of their lives, they'll have a kid, and that will change everything. Neither of them have jobs, how are they going to support themselves, let alone a child? Finn tells Burt that they have a plan, they can stay in school, and work, and raise the baby, and it's going to be great. That's not what the burly man wanted to hear from his son's mouth, and that's not what he thought he'd have to deal with ever. Sometimes he forgets, that because Kurt is gay, he doesn't have to worry so much about an unexpected pregnancy. But with Finn, he never took the time to sit him down and explain everything, and have that talk. Should he be happy that he's getting a grandchild? Yes. Is he happy? No. He wanted them to wait till they're out of college, have a job and a nice house, and an income. This isn't the plan he had envisioned in his head for either of them.

'So, you're not going to give us your blessing? Mom has, why can't you?' Finn asked, preventing Burt from leaving the room

'Look Finn, you're my son and I love you, and I love that you've found Alisha and that you're happy, but you're both nineteen. I just want the both of you to be realistic about this. You're nineteen… Just think about it,'

'Yeah, we're nineteen. I've known people who've had kids at sixteen. We can do this Mr Hummel. We can have our careers, and this baby and stay in school. Please, we can do this, have faith,' Alisha said, trying to convince the man

'I know you believe that. But in reality…' Burt turned and headed back towards the kitchen, leaving the room in a deafening silence, as the mood for opening presents was now definitely deflated.

It was a lazy Sunday. Two days after Christmas (27th). Whilst talking about their plans for New Year's Eve, and whether it was worth going to New York, Santana and Brittney had tuned the others out, and were on Pinterest, discussing possible wedding ideas. Dresses, rings, venues, lights, photographer… all the trimmings they would need to get married, and what they had envisioned their wedding would look like. The blonde wanted some simple and sleek, but elegant when it came to dresses, whilst Santana was happy with the over the top lathering of the fabric, to create a kind of ball gown style dress. They had been so wrapped up in their Pinterest Boards, that they didn't realise Niff and Klaine had been including them in the conversation, and asked them if they were happy to just have New Year's here this year. Brittney nodded, whilst Santana just sent Kurt a knowing look, because he knew what they were distracted by, and Santana knows that Kurt wants to be involved in any way he can, in the planning aspect, even if it's just making the invites or something. Which reminded Santana, that they need to set a date before they do anything else. Brittney was still telling her about her idea that they get married at the circus, which Santana had to physically stop herself from spluttering at. That was the worst idea her fiancée had come up with, and we're talking about Brittney. Santana had always had a dream, that she would be married in the gardens at the Radley Hotel, in New York. She had never told anyone about this, except Kurt, because she didn't want anyone to know that she had heart, and dreams. Finally, she told Brittney about it, and they went on google to look it up. When the blonde saw the pictures, she immediately jumped up off the couch, and shouted that that was the place. That was it. It was where they were getting married. Kurt, unbeknownst to Santana, had already pulled some strings and gotten them a meeting with the head of the Radley, to work out all the details. Of course, when he told this to Britt and Santana, he wasn't prepared for them to actually, literally jump him.

Once Kurt had been assessed and deemed injury free, Santana went back to Kurt, and asked him to help her plan everything, because it "must be perfect", and who better to plan a wedding, then her four best gays? Nick and Jeff had been given jobs as well, and Blaine was helping with the invitations. They had set a date that would allow them plenty of time to change things, should they need too. In four days, it's going to be 2016. Their wedding is going to be on October 17th, 2016. They picked that date, because it's far enough away that they have plenty of time to plan, but not too far, that they're waiting forever. Also, she has a feeling that the promise ring Blaine gave to Kurt has the date of the day he's going to ask Kurt to marry him on it (this is what Nick told her anyway), and Klaine's two-year anniversary is on March 15th, 2016. She doesn't know if that's the day, but that's their anniversary anyway. Regardless, that's the date she and Britt picked, and now all they have to do is plan everything, and work out all the details, before they collapse into a pile tonight, after having been working and doing school all day. She and Britt are staying with Niff and Klaine for the week, and have taken a long time to just walk up the stairs to their bedroom. They've been hanging out and talking and just catching up, they haven't been able to just have that for a while, and Santana misses having Kurt close, because they've become really good friends. Not as good of friends as Nick and Kurt, but good enough that they can talk about most things with one another, and share secrets they probably wouldn't share with anyone else. Blaine met them on the landing that led to their bedroom, and told them that he's really happy they're here, and that he's really excited for their wedding. Santana wanted to ask Blaine what the date on Kurt's ring was, and if the countertenor had seen it yet, because apparently, Kurt had been told he wasn't to look at the date, even though it was inscribed on the inside of the silver band. Leading Santana away from the bedroom that he and Kurt share, he whispered the date in her ear, of when he was going to propose, and made Santana promise she wouldn't say a word.

'Are you both willing to wait that long?' she asked, knowing that Kurt has this already planned

'I don't want to be married whilst I'm still in college. Don't get me wrong, I love Kurt and I want to marry him, I just want to be graduated, have a job, and have enough money to support my family first. I want to be with Kurt, and when I do ask him, it will be even more special, if it's on that date,' he replied, and Santana had to agree

'Well, I'm glad you have a plan,' she said

'Santana, I'm really happy for you and Britt. It's going to be amazing,' Blaine said, and the two shared a quick hug, before heading into their respective rooms

Nick and Jeff had settled in bed, the TV on softly playing re-runs of Hit the Floor. Jeff was multi-tasking, going through some of the work he had to do for school, when Nick brought up marriage. The two hadn't discussed it again since the last time, and when Blaine gave Kurt his promise ring, it had occurred to them that they were behind most of their friends, relationship wise, even though they've been together longer. Nick didn't want to rush into anything, like they did with buying a piece of land. Even though, eventually in like thirty years, it will be worth it when they finally build their house. Jeff asked Nick if he was just bringing this up because of all the talk between Santana and Brittney, and their wedding, and Nick admitted that he has thought about it before now, but it only resurfaced tonight. He and Jeff don't really have the desire to get married right away. Sure, they might have wanted to do that once, but now they don't know if it's a good idea. They have college, and the just want to be able to be together and not have to worry about anything else. Their friends might be different to them, but Nick tells Jeff that he's thought about it, and he might have been on Pinterest, looking at wedding ideas, but he doesn't want to worry him about it too much. Jeff turned to face his boyfriend, taking his hands, and leaning forward to kiss him. On the outside, Jeff pretends to be their hardened guy, hiding behind emotions, but when he's alone, with Nick, he's just a big softy, and he would do absolutely anything for the man he loves, just like Kurt would for Blaine and vice versa. But he doesn't want to get married, at least for another five years. Nick nods when Jeff tells him this, and then explains that eventually, he does want to marry Nick, he'll always want to marry him, he just doesn't want to get married right now, and he doesn't think that Brittney and Santana should get married next year. He also tells Nick that he likes Blaine's idea of the promise ring and have a date in mind. After that, they drift off into silence, the TV the only sound that fills the room, and it's not an awkward silence, but there is something different about their relationship now, Nick just can't quite work out what it is.
