Notes: I know long time no update. Dedicated to Verne Gagne who passed away today.

Eric Bischoff took the printed pages from his printer. Even though hardly anyone used a printer in 2020, he still found it to be useful. He liked to have a paper copy before he sent anything to a publisher. He went out into the living room and found Loree on the phone and waited for her to finish.

She hung up and handed him a piece of paper. "Here's the stuff we need before we leave tomorrow."

"Thanks," Eric said as he put the papers in his pocket. "I'll go to the pharmacy right now," he said as he put his leather jacket on. He stopped and turned to face Loree. "Hey Loree if anything ever happens to me, I need you to give Eddy the papers on my desk. Don't give it to him unless something happens to me."

"I doubt anything's going to happen to you at the pharmacy," Loree stopped thinking of Shane McMahon. "But if anything does happen to you, I will. What is it anyway?"

"It's the epilogue of my new book. They should read it before it's published. It's something I should have told them over two years ago." He took his keys and went outside. He got in his car and drove away unable to shake the feeling something was going to happen to him.

Jason stood in his kitchen watching as his son Trevor poured himself a bowl of cereal. He heard a knock at the front door and got up to answer it. He opened the door and found Chris Benoit standing there.

"I was hoping we could talk," Chris exclaimed. "Can I come in?"

Jason nodded and opened the door. He went into the kitchen. "Trevor you better get a move on or you're going to be late for school."

"But dad I still have ten minutes before the bus gets here," Trevor complained, "and I haven't finished my breakfast."

Jason gave his son a small smile. "Sorry finish eating and get going."

He led Chris out of the room. "Is there any news about Daniel?"

"Not that I know of,"Chris said, "I wanted to talk to you about Danny though. I know you and Nancy hold me responsible for what's happened to Danny."

Jason stared at him for a long moment. "That's not it Chris. Nancy does hold you responsible for putting Daniel in danger but she knows it's not your fault they've got him."

"It's Orton. Cassidy said his name."

"Another tape arrived,"Jason said and then stopped when he saw Trevor standing in the doorway. "Have a good day Trevor." He said and waited until the front door closed before continuing. "What did this video show?"

"Not much,"he sighed. "Just Chad hitting Danny in the knee with the sledgehammer. Orton's voice could be heard in the backgrond and Cassidy said it."

"So now that you know who's behind it, why isn't anyone going to get them?" Jason's voice rose.

"We don't know where they are," Chris said. "Orton pretty much is off the radar. Eddy tried calling his son but he hasn't been able to reach him yet. We think he's wrestling in Japan. I wish we could find them more than anything."

"I wish that too. I know people forget me when they think about Daniel because I'm not his father but you know what Chris? I helped raise him for 11 years. I helped teach him how to ride a bicicle. I took care of him when he was sick or had nighmares. I even adopted him."

Chris nodded not saying anything.

"He called me dad a couple of times but mostly it was Jason. I never asked him to call me dad but he's as much my son as Trevor is."

Chris nodded again. "I knew you had adopted him I had to sign a seperate paper that was hidden. That never changed and I guess I thought it wasn't important because no one brought that up but..."

"Not important! Are you crazy? Chris..." He was stopped when Chris' phone buzzed.

Chris looked down. "Oh my God." he said.

Jason forgot his anger as he looked at the other man. "What is it?"

"It's Eric Bischoff. He's dead."
