A/N This chapter will be taking place in LA. So it's a one chapter crossover with Private Practice.

Happiness

Callie and Mark had been on the plane to LA for two hours already and Callie had learned a valuable piece of information about her child's father. Mark Sloan was dead scared of flying. He never showed it to anyone, but by the way that his knuckles had turned white when they ascended into the sky, Callie knew. She never would have thought that Mark Sloan would be so afraid of flying. She knew not to tease him about it though. Even though a part of her wanted to. She could tell that he was actually terrified and Callie knew that teasing him would make it so much worse. Mark's eyes were closed and Callie wasn't entirely sure if he was asleep or not, but as long as he looked calm and relaxed, that was all Callie wanted for him.

Callie could still hardly believe what had happened in the past forty eight hours. She had found out she was pregnant just two days ago. Not only was she pregnant, but Mark Sloan the notorious womanizer was the baby's father. Callie still found Mark's response to this development inspiring. He had told her that he wanted to be completely involved. Callie had a feeling that it was his father's un involvement with Mark's life that had helped shape Mark's decision to be involved. Now Callie was eager for her first official doctor's appointment. Her ultrasound with Cristina Yang didn't count because all Cristina did was confirm what four pregnancy tests had already told Callie. Plus Cristina Yang was not an OB. Callie wanted the best for her child and Mark had insisted on having only the best for her and the baby.

They were finally on a plane after forty eight hours of schedule switching and adjusting and talking to the Chief. Needless to say the Chief had been very surprised when he had heard that his Head of Plastics and his best Ortho resident were expecting a baby. He had no problem letting them go to LA for a few days. He gave them a few days off because he knew that Addison and Callie would want to catch up. Plus he didn't want a three am call from Callie begging him to let her have one more day off. So he gave Callie and Mark the full weekend off to spend in LA.

Callie was too excited to sleep. They were finally descending into LA and soon Callie and Mark would get to see their baby on screen. Callie had already seen the baby, but Mark hadn't and Callie knew that Mark was excited to get to see his baby on the screen. Of course getting him to admit his excitement over an ultrasound was nearly impossible. Callie wished that Addison could come pick them up, but she understood that Addison had patients. She was eager to meet this Naomi woman who Addison, Mark and Derek had known since medical school. Addison had had nothing but good things to say about this woman. Even Mark had nice words to say about Naomi. So Callie had a feeling that she too would like the woman.

When the plane finally landed, Callie shook Mark who had finally fallen asleep halfway through the flight. Callie wasn't entirely sure that Mark hadn't used an anti anxiety medication, but it didn't matter to her. Mark needed to sleep in order to not focus on his phobia of flying.

"Mark, we landed." Callie whispered as she shook Mark gently.

"In LA?" Mark murmured as he opened his eyes slowly. He was still slightly out of it.

"Yeah we're here." Callie told him softly.

Mark seemed to wake up a little faster as he heard their companions that were on the plane with them get off of the plane. Mark wanted to get off of this plane as soon as he could, but Callie wanted him to stay seated just until the majority of their fellow passengers had gotten off of the plane so he could wake up completely. Finally Callie let Mark stand up and Mark walked in front of Callie. He held his hand out for her to hold onto so they wouldn't lose each other. Callie resisted the urge to roll her eyes when she saw Mark's gesture. She Mark didn't do the chivalrous thing so seeing him hold out his hand for her was a new thing for her to see .It was also very un Mark like.

When they finally got out of the tunnel and into the airport itself, Callie noticed Mark's color return to normal. She honestly hadn't noticed how white he had been throughout the whole plane ride. Now she felt guilty for not noticing. After all she was a doctor and she should have noticed.

"Sorry I didn't notice how white you looked during the flight." Callie murmured apologetically. Mark shook his head. He did not want Callie apologizing for it. It was not her fault that he was petrified of flying. He had had to forget that he was on a plane in order to sleep. He hadn't brought any anti anxiety medications with him because he hadn't wanted anyone to know how scared of flying he was. He didn't want to have to be weak and resort to taking medication to deal with the fear of flying.

Naomi Bennett was waving to Mark, hoping that he would notice her before she had to start yelling his name. He seemed to too involved in the conversation that he was having with the woman who Naomi assumed was Callie. Addison had told her a lot about Callie and Naomi felt as though she already knew the slightly younger woman. Finally Mark saw her and he waved to her. He said something to Callie and they both hurried over to where Naomi stood. Naomi pulled Mark into a hug. It was part congratulatory and partly a natural response after not seeing someone for such a long time. After all Mark hadn't seen them since they had moved to LA.

"It's good to see you Mark." Naomi told Mark as she pulled away from the hug with a smile on her face.

When Naomi looked at Callie, she could see why Mark liked her. She was definitely attractive and she was probably pretty smart too. She was much better than the bimbos Mark used to go for.

"It's good to meet you Callie. Addison has told me so much about you." Naomi told Callie with another smile.

Callie smiled at Naomi, already liking the woman. She seemed to have this energy that radiated out of her. Callie wondered if it was her fertility specialty or just her personality. Or maybe it was being a mother. If that was the case, Callie hoped that she too would one day be radiating energy.

"Can we get to the practice?" Mark asked impatiently. He wanted to see the ultrasound of his baby and Naomi was taking too long. Naomi laughed at Mark, remembering how inpatient he had been even as a medical student.

"Let's hope the baby doesn't inherit your impatience Mark." Naomi teased.

Mark glared in Naomi's direction. He wasn't being impatient on purpose. He wanted to see his child on the screen. Callie looked at Naomi and shook her head ruefully.

"I am far more impatient than Mark. I am just better at hiding my impatience. This kid will definitely be impatient to a certain degree." Callie told Naomi with a laugh.

Even Mark had to agree that Callie was right. Their child would likely be a real handful of stubbornness and impatience. Mark just had to hope that if it was a boy, he was nothing like Mark was when he was younger. If it was a girl, Mark hoped that she wasn't as sexual as her mother was or for that matter, he was. In fact if it was a girl, Mark was keeping her under lock and key until he was dead.

"I am more hoping that the kid doesn't inherit our…sexual appetites." Mark told Naomi and Callie with a rueful smile.

"So are the other parents of the yet to be born kids that your kid will meet eventually." Naomi pointed out as she led them out to her car. Mark and Callie had only brought one bag each and they had used the bags as carryon's so they didn't have to check luggage.

Thirty minutes later, Callie and Mark were stepping into Oceanside Wellness Center. Now Callie could see why Addison had said that she felt so zen here. It was relaxing and calming. Mark on the other hand was not feeling calm or relaxed. He was feeling anxious and excited. Naomi had already gone to go get Addison. Mark was sitting in a chair, but every other second, his leg twitched or he drummed his fingers on the armrest. A woman with curly brown hair and glasses came out from one of the back rooms, probably her office. Callie assumed this was Violet the shrink that Oceanside made good use of. The look on Violet's face as she looked at Mark was one of curiosity. Callie would almost go a step further and call it lustful curiosity. Callie shot Mark a sidelong glance and she was surprised that Mark hadn't seemed to have noticed the curly haired woman.

Violet turned on her heel once she had gotten a good look at the hot guy sitting next to a dark haired woman. She didn't recognize either of them so either they were new patients or they were the friends that Addison had mentioned were coming for an ultrasound. She walked into Addison's room and she was surprised to see Addison hunched over a pile of paperwork.

"Who is that incredibly gorgeous guy sitting with a gorgeous woman Addison?" Violet asked quite bluntly as she barged uninvited into Addison's office.

"Tall, about six three blue-grey eyes and a smile to die for?" Addison responded as she looked up at Violet.

"Well I didn't see him smile, but yeah that's the one." Violet told Addison.

"Well thank God he didn't smile at you. Your toes would probably have curled just from seeing his smile." Addison commented. Mark used to have that effect on her. Her toes would curl whenever he so much as smiled at her and definitely when his hand rested on her back. Addison knew that she couldn't hide back in her office anymore. She knew that she would have to face the happy soon to be parents.

"Who's the woman?" Violet asked curiously.

"Callie. The mother of his unborn baby. Oh and also my best friend in Seattle." Addison explained bluntly. There was no reason to beat around the bush.

"Oh. How do you feel about them being here together?" Violet asked Addison, slipping into therapist mode. Addison glared at Violet. She really had not wanted to have a miniature shrinking session right now.

"Shut up Violet." Addison told the therapist bluntly before she got out of her desk chair and left the office rather quickly. Violet knew the history between Mark and Addison because Addison had told her once, so she wasn't too surprised to see that reaction from Addison.

When Addison saw them, Mark was still drumming his fingers on the armrest and Callie was flipping through a magazine. They looked so natural around each other. She watched quietly as Mark's right hand finally stopped moving and he moved his hand over to Callie's stomach. Seeing that was like looking into a mirror, except last time it was Addison who was pregnant and Mark couldn't keep his hands off of her stomach for the whole two weeks that they knew that Addison was pregnant. Smiling a smile she didn't quite feel, Addison walked over to them,

"Hi you two." Addison greeted them.

Mark and Callie stood up when they heard Addison's voice. Addison looked exactly the same, except her wardrobe wasn't as East Coast as it had been in Seattle. First she hugged Mark tightly. She was still smiling as she spoke.

"Congratulations Mark,"

Addison knew that she had already congratulated them when she had talked to them two days ago, but she figured that she should probably say it aloud to them so they knew that she really meant what she had said before. Mark was smiling too. Hearing Addison say congratulations to him in person really meant more to him than he had expected it to. After all Addison had said that he would have made a terrible father. Addison turned from Mark to Callie and she pulled her Seattle best friend into a hug. She knew how much Callie had wanted a baby and she was truly happy for Callie.

"Congratulations Callie .I am so happy for you." Addison told Callie sincerely. Mark scowled at Addison's choice of words.

"What? So you aren't excited for me?" Mark protested. Addison rolled her eyes when Mark spoke. She had forgotten how he could be sometimes.

"Yes I am excited for you both." Addison told Mark with a glare. Smiling again, Addison turned back to Callie.

"Are you ready to see your baby on screen again?" Addison asked. Callie broke into a grin. Addison looked up at Mark who was also smiling. Addison could tell that Mark was truly excited for this baby and she was really happy to see that.

Addison lead Callie and Mark to an exam room. She pointed to a chair and then looked at Mark. Mark sighed and sat down on the chair next to the exam table. She passed Callie a cloth robe to change into and Callie went behind the partition and changed, making sure that it was open in the front for the ultrasound.

"So any morning sickness?" Addison asked as Callie was stepping out from the partition. Callie nodded. She had had it ever since she had found out that she was pregnant.

"Past two days." Callie replied.

"So basically ever since you found out." Addison commented. Again Callie nodded. She was already so tired of it.

"Any cravings?" Addison asked. She shot Mark a glare, warning him not to say anything sexual. Mark smirked because he knew what Addison was thinking.

"Chinese food. Mark and I have had it every night since we found out. It's like the baby can't get enough of it." Callie replied with a sigh. Addison could tell that Callie was already getting tired of Chinese food. She knew that Callie would eat it if she was craving it though.

"Just be glad that the cravings are really nasty things." Addison reminded her. Mark smiled as she looked at Callie

"She knows that I'll go get her anything she wants to eat." Mark told Addison with a grin before he kissed the top of Callie's head.

Addison was glad to see Mark so involved with Callie and the baby. It was a nice change for Addison to see. She wished that she had seen these changes in him when they were in New York.

"Can we do the ultrasound now?" Mark asked impatiently. Callie nudged him in the stomach and said.

"Let Addie finish her questions."

"I am actually done asking any questions. Unless either of you have questions?" Addison said with a small smile. Both Callie and Mark shook their heads. Neither had any questions. Both of them just wanted to see the baby on the ultrasound. Callie would be able to look at it and smile and not go into full on panic mode like she had done when Cristina first did her ultrasound. Mark would be able to see it on the screen for the first time.

"Okay, let's turn on the ultrasound machine." Addison announced with a smile.

She pulled the machine closer to her and then she switched it on. She grabbed the wand and squirted some gel onto the end of it. Addison looked at Callie who was still smiling.

"Okay, so this is going to be cold." Addison warned Callie.

"I know Addie. Just put the wand on my stomach." Callie ordered in mock seriousness.

Addison knew that at four weeks, there was no guarantee that she would be able to hear the heartbeat, but she knew how reassuring that would be for Callie and Mark so she hoped that she could hear it, for their sakes. When she finally put the wand on Callie's stomach, she moved it around for a second, before she saw it. Or rather them. She must have had a surprised look on her face because Callie and Mark were looking at her strangely "There's two in there." Addison told them.

Callie and Mark exchanged startled glances. Callie had a feeling that she would have known that if Cristina had processed the blood work.

"Um… what now?" Mark demanded, clearly in shock. He had just gotten used to the idea of being a father and now he was being told that it was twins.

"Are you sure it's twins Addie?" Callie demanded. She too was in shock. She knew that twins did not run in her family and she doubted they ran in Mark's.

"Yes. I can see one here and one here." Addison told both Callie and Mark as she pointed out both babies.

"How do they look?" Callie asked anxiously.

"They look healthy right now. Things look good with both of them." Addison reassured Callie.

Then a thought occurred to Callie.

"Why didn't Cristina see them when she looked at the ultrasound?" Callie asked.

"Well Cristina is not OB nor does she even want to be an OB. She doesn't have the specially trained eyes that I have." Addison explained.

Mark was still in complete shock. Of course he was super excited to have twins, but all of his fears of being a good father came flooding back.

God, I have kick ass swimmers." Mark finally commented with a smirk falling on his lips. The initial shock finally seemed to be wearing off for which he was grateful for.

Both Callie and Addison rolled their eyes at Mark. It was such a Mark thing to say right now. Callie was glad too that Mark seemed to be getting over his initial shock and was getting back to his boastful self.

"I want to keep a very close eye on you Callie. Before we knew it was twins I was going to insist I see you every month. Now that we know it's twins, I need to see you every two weeks." Addison told Callie seriously. Callie had a feeling that her hours at work would be cut way down much sooner than she had anticipated. She also had a feeling that she would only be able to make her future visits to LA, one day trips. Early flight there and late flight home.

"I'll make sure she's here every two weeks." Mark told Addison firmly. Callie groaned. Just what she needed. An overprotective father hovering over her for the next eight months.

"Thank you Mark." Addison told Mark with a roll of her eyes. She had a feeling that Mark was going to drive Callie insane for the next eight months.

"Can I get dressed now?" Callie asked hopefully.

Addison nodded and Callie went back behind the partition and changed into her street clothes. When she came out from behind the partition, she looked at Addison.

"Come to dinner with Mark and I tonight." Callie suggested hopefully. She really hoped that Addison could come. She missed her friend.

"It so happens I have tonight free. I would love to join you both." Addison told Callie with a smile.

"It can't be late. Callie and the babies need their sleep." Mark told Addison in total seriousness. Callie was this close to killing Mark because of his over protectiveness. He was being so obnoxious and Callie was getting annoyed.

"Shut up Mark. I'll go to bed when I am tired." Callie snapped at him. Addison smiled, already enjoying the banter between the two parents to be.

"We'll meet at 6:00 at this new Mexican restaurant that I have heard is good. I'll ask Naomi what the name of it is and then I'll text you Callie." Addison told Callie and Mark. Both Callie and Mark nodded as they left the exam room with Addison right behind them.

When they had reached the lobby, Callie and Mark took turns hugging Addison. Neither Callie nor Mark could believe that they were actually having twins. Both had been upset that they couldn't hear the heartbeat yet, but they were also too focused on the twin thing. Besides Addison had said they looked healthy and that was all Callie and Mark wanted.

"I'll see you both tonight." Addison told Callie and Mark before she watched Callie and Mark walk out Oceanside's doors.

At the hotel Mark and Callie were still unable to believe that they were actually having twins. They were thrilled, but Mark for one was scared. He was scared not only for the babies, but for Callie as well.

"Mark I am going to be fine. Women carry more than two babies in their uterus every day." Callie insisted for what seemed like the eighth time since they had left Addison.

"Yeah and those are the women that have a lot of complications." Mark argued.

"Let's just get dressed and go have dinner with Addie." Callie told Mark flatly, telling him that this discussion was over. Mark scowled, knowing that Callie did not want to finish this discussion. He decided to drop it and try to enjoy the dinner tonight with their friend.

Mark watched Callie head off into the bathroom to get dressed for dinner since he was already dressed for it. When she came out in a fire engine red dress that went just below her knee, Mark was stunned into temporary silence. She had hardly been in there long and she looked stunning. He approached her and put his hands on her waist.

"You look gorgeous Callie." Mark whispered.

"You are not getting into my pants." Callie warned softly. Their eyes met and Mark felt this desire to kiss her. He didn't do it, only because he wasn't sure that was what she wanted from him. Instead he rested his forehead against hers.

"We should go." Mark whispered.

"Yeah." Callie whispered back.

She didn't move either though. It seemed like they were in their own little world. Finally Callie pulled away from the safety of Mark's embrace and she took his hand and led him out of the hotel room. It was time for dinner with Addison.
