Authors Note and warnings: Hello everyone, first and foremost, thanking for taking the time to read this fic. I apologize for any mistakes in my writing, I am without a beta and you can only catch so much from reading your own work. Now onto the warnings, this fic is going to be slash. There is going to be mentions of mpreg and possibly mpreg towards the end. The actual relationship with Rabastan and Harry will not happen fully until much later into the story. This is starting while Harry is a child and they are betrothed at him being a young age. Nothing sexual or any attraction will start till he is much older, the attraction will start when Harry hits his teen years (when he really starts noticing those around him.)

The start of their relationship is more along the lines of a friendship where Harry is enamored with his older friend's tales and adventures and Rabastan sees him as a child he needs to protect. Rabastan will have flings and such before they are married, after all he is a grown man and has urges most adults have. Dumbledore in this story is not a nice man and is basically the main villain. Voldemort does exist in this, but he wasn't taking a gruella type of stance and was more focused on politics in this fic than murdering everything. He does have his follower base, most purebloods with a lot of political sway.

This story is AU, so things that happened in the books/movies did not happen in this. People who were imprisoned may not be imprisoned and people who are dead are alive. Some people may be a bit OOC. So, with that said I hope you enjoy. Feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Criticism is welcome just don't be outright rude with it.

Innocence Lost

Prologue

April 5th, 1960- Germany

Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore was a great wizard. He was powerful and had most of the British, Irish and Scottish Wizarding World in his hands. Of course, to get where he is at currently he had to do many things that most people might consider unfavorable. Albus of course knew he was no saint but that didn't mean that he could pretend to be just to get the foolish public believe he was as such. There were many things that the wizarding world had conveniently forgotten or didn't know about their benevolent leader of the light and Albus of course did his damndest to make sure those deeds never came to light.

If they were to truly uncover the past they would be in for a shock. After all the "Dark Lord" he was revered for stopping wasn't working alone, no he had an accomplice and the accomplice was his lover, best friend and the very wizard deemed the one who felled the dishonorable Gellert Grindelwald. Of course, the public didn't know that, that battle was all but an elaborate ruse and that Gellert currently was residing happily in Dumbledore's summer home. After All, the wizarding world was falling nicely in the palm of their hands with the change of tactics.

It was not time though for him to spend reminiscing, he currently had more important things to take care of. Fifteen years ago, he and his lover were forced to change tactics. They had orchestrated a grand scheme of forcing the muggles against each other and had almost succeeded until one wizard had stumbled upon those who were pulling the strings behind the scenes. Valademar Kuhn a German Pureblood Wizard had foiled them. It was a great embarrassment that a mere 22-year-old had outed his lover and him. Today though, yes today he was going to clean up the loose ends.

Under a Polyjuice in the appearance of a random muggle Albus Dumbledore found himself standing at the entranceway of a quaint cottage. From inside he heard a woman singing a Polish Nursery Rhyme and the wailing of a babe. A smirk crossed his face as he knocked on the door. A beautiful woman answered the door she had dark auburn hair and bright hazel eyes putting on a pleasant smile Albus introduced himself, "Hello Lady Kuhn is your husband home? You see I am an associate of one of the markets he currently bought stocks in and was hoping for a moment of his time to iron out some details."

A gentle smile lit the woman's face, "Yes of course. If you come inside sir let me go fetch him for you." She then leads him inside showing him into a sitting room where he took a seat as she went into the other room.

Shortly there after she returns with a severe looking man with light hair and emerald green eyes. He sees the man studying him trying to place him and he stands with a hearty smile, "Lord Kuhn, pleasure to meet you face to face. You see there is some business we most attend to and it is of the upmost importance."

Before the man could say anything, the disguised wizard removes his wand and with a brilliant green flash the man crumples to the ground. The Lady Kuhn lets out a scream and clutching the babe to her chest she turns to run before another jet of green engulfs her. The babe is yet again wailing, and Dumbledore goes and scoops it up, "What to do with you? I do not wish to kill a child, but I do not need you in the way." An evil smile crosses his face, "Of course, I shall place you with filthy muggles, of course no one would think to look for a pureblood child amongst muggles."

With that a loud crack sounded and Albus Dumbledore disappeared with the babe placing her onto the steps of an orphanage in England. Early in the morning the matron would find her and a couple months later a couple with a young daughter would come to adopt her, bringing her into their home as Lily Jasmine Evans and sealing her fate as a supposed muggleborn witch.

June 22nd, 1978- Diagon Alley

Today was a happy day for the newly married couple of James and Lily Potter. The day before they had an amazing wedding and today they were headed into Gringotts to officiate the accounts that would now be shared between the budding Auror and newly recruited Unspeakable. Smiling happily the couple followed the Goblin who was the Potter account holder into his office to take care of all the official documents that married couples do.

Having settled themselves across from Ironhammer to weed out all the details, "Congratulations on your recent nuptials Heir Potter. Now as per tradition Mrs. Potter we must take some of your blood to sort out the family trees to account for your recent marriage. Do we have your permission?"

Smiling happily the newly married Lily Potter held out her hand to the goblin, "Of course, as is procedure."

Nodding once the goblin pulled out a piece of parchment and then a dagger which he pricked her finger causing the woman to give a small wince, "Three drops should suffice."

Once the amount of blood needed splashed on the paper she healed her finger and then sucked the blood off. They patiently waited for the parchment to update which would then add her and her family's names to the Potter family tree. The goblin watching the parchment eyes widened before looking up at her then back on the parchment. Both her and James looked at the goblin in worry, wondering if something was wrong with their bonding and caused an issue with the tree. "Is there something the matter?" the redhead asked worriedly.

The goblin looked at her wonder in his eyes before handing her the parchment which a miniature version of her family tree sat, "What, what is this?" she asked a bit breathlessly.

"It is your family tree Mrs. Potter and it looks to me as though you have some inheritances to claim."

Wordlessly she handed the parchment over to a worried James whose eyes widened upon reading the parchment, "The, the Kuhn's, the Zysk's? Ironhammer what is this? Both families were said to have been killed off years ago and their accounts put in stasis."

"It is what it looks like Heir Potter, your wife is not a muggleborn as lead to be believed and is indeed the Heiress to two Pureblood Families who were murdered in cold blood."

Lily sat there confused, she wasn't a muggleborn after all but a pureblood. Her life up to that point felt like it had been a lie. Her parents weren't her parents, biologically speaking, she couldn't say they weren't her parents because they did raise her and still loved her regardless of the magic. It explained so much though as in why Petunia wasn't a witch as well. Most muggleborns siblings ended up being witches and wizards as well and a small percentage had a muggle sibling, she originally thought that was the case with her and Petunia that whatever caused the magic in her had skipped Petunia making her one of the small percentage.

She was broken out of her thoughts by the goblin, "Mrs. Potter would you like to claim your birthright?"

She looked over at James who reached over and squeezed her arm reassuringly, "Yes, yes I think I will."

A few hours later they made their way out of the bank. She had claimed both Kuhn and Zysk houses and had merged them with her husband's house as was tradition when it came to pureblood lines that only had a daughter to carry on the name. She had left the bank with a journal in hand that she had found in her family vault that belonged to her father. She hoped within it she might find answers to the questions that were plaguing her mind. James of course was silent just holding her hand reassuringly which she greatly apprieciated. Him and his friends of course were jokesters, but they did know how to be serious when the time needed. Laughing to herself glad that Sirius wasn't there, or she said that out loud to where he could make one of his famous name puns. James of course looked at her in question to her quiet giggle, "Sorry just was thinking of the word "serious" and then one of Sirius' puns popped in my head."

James gave her a wry grin then pulled her close to him into a gentle kiss before he apparated them to Potter Manor where they were currently residing. Once they appeared at the gates James nipped her ear before asking, "Should I be jealous that you were thinking about my best mate?"

Smirking at him she replied, "Well I will have to admit he is devilishly handsome and from what I have heard he has quite the stamina in the sack."

James put on a shocked expression twirling her around, "Well I'm sorry to tell you my dear that you won't get to learn the prowess of my best mate at all."

"Oh, and why would that be, Mr. Potter. Are you telling me I won't be able to take his motor bike out for a spin? Not even for a test drive?"

Letting out a laugh he pulled her close, "Well Mrs. Potter you could ask him but I'm pretty sure he would turn you down after all you don't quite have the right bits for him and I'm not too keen on sharing even if he is my best friend."

"Well Mr. Potter you won't have to worry anyways. Even though he is handsome I am a one-man kind of gal."

Laughing happily James pulled her into their house and into their rooms where they spent a good portion of their day. That evening Lily remembered the journal she had found and began to read it and the secrets it held within. She had finished it within a few hours and had learned several shocking things about her birth father that shook up the entire world that she knew. Wordlessly she looked at James who had been reading it with her over her shoulder seeing the same shocked expression on his face.

From what they had learned there were several important facts. First and foremost, the beloved Albus Dumbledore was not a good man at all. Her father, who had infiltrated the muggle Nazi's and worked his way up in the ranks within a few short years. Of course, magic helped aid him and with it he found that Hitler while indeed horrible and corrupt was merely a puppet for not one but two wizards. Those two wizards were Gellert Grindelwald and his lover Albus Dumbledore. He stated how he managed to pull the plug on the war again with the help of magic causing the German powers to crumble. Shortly after that was the supposed fallout of the two powerful wizards.

He stressed though quite vehemently on how he felt he was now in danger. He was found out by the two wizards and had gone into hiding. Years had passed, and he had married a young witch by the name of Talia Zysk who was his betrothed and the last of her line which had combined the two. He had said how he had gone lax in his paranoia at that point because he had felt the men had forgotten about him, but he still did not trust the new leaf Dumbledore was portraying. He though chose to keep himself out of politics and was focusing on his now pregnant wife.

The journal had ended and from what she had learned from James the family had been found dead shortly after and their child was gone, but also was presumed to be dead. No one had found the culprit and judging from this journal only one man truly had a grudge enough to be the culprit of this crime. She looked back over at her husband both of their worlds shaken, "James, everything points to one person."

He looked at her sadly and kissed her hair, "I know Lils I know. I'm just as worried about it as you."

"We can't let him know that we know."

"No, we can't we have to play this safe."

"We do need to show this at the least to Sirius and Remus, they might be able to help us."

She felt her husband's arms tighten around her, "We will in the morning. Just try to rest we will figure out what to do."

Shortly after that more revelations came to light to the group that had deemed themselves The Marauders changing their true stances in the war to come and setting them on paths that would change the course of everything.

March 3rd, 1980- Grimmauld Place, London

Sirius sighed, straightening himself up before sealing his decision even further. His friends and him had declared themselves neutral a couple years ago and today he had decided to try and further protect his best friends and his unborn godson in the best way he could. He hated this place and he hated what he was about to do but it was something he needed to do. Slowly he made his way up to the front door of number twelve ready for the screaming he was going to soon must face and smiled wryly before grabbing the knocker.

Shortly after he knocked the door was opened by a raggedly looking house elf who proceeded to glare at him, "The blood traitor returns to the Most Noble House of Black does he. He dares defile these steps with his filthy presence, Mistress will be most unpleased."

Sirius sneered at the elf, "As pleasant as always Kreacher, though I haven't come here to trade insults with you, elf. Is my Mother and Father home?"

"Mistress is home but Kreacher is sure Mistress would not want to see her biggest disgrace, no, no she wouldn't. The disgraceful black left Mistress in tears."

"Kreacher let me in and fetch my mother." He glared down at the elf who finally moved aside before moving away.

Sirius stepped inside and shut the door behind him, glaring at the dreary house that was his childhood home. Soon enough a regal woman entered glaring at her oldest son, "You dare return here? You dare return here after everything you have done?"

"Hello Mother," Sirius started.

"Hello Mother, is what you have to say? It has been almost five years since you ran off and the first thing you say to me is 'Hello Mother.'"

"Please woman, would you just let me talk! I'm sorry I left, I now realize I shouldn't have. There are some things that have came to light and I want to rectify my mistakes. Please."

"Begging is not becoming of a Black, Sirius. Obviously, it is important, or you wouldn't have graced me with your presence so follow me to the sitting room we'll have some tea."

Sirius followed Walburga, his darling mother into the sitting room. He sat down across from her as Kreacher popped in the room setting down a kettle and tea sandwiches before vanishing. He sat silently as his mother out of traditional pureblood hosting fixed them both tea, he was shocked to see her make it how he liked it, one cube of sugar and a splash of milk, just enough to lighten it just a tad. She sat back after she handed it to him smirking at his flabbergasted expression, "Don't be daft Sirius, throughout the faults in our relationship I am still your Mother and therefore I do know your likes and dislikes. Now, what is so important that you have graced my company for. You made it quite clear before you wanted nothing to do with our illustrious family."

He leaned back sipping on his tea, putting his thoughts together, "Normally, I would have chosen to stay away. Things though, these past few years, well a lot of things has come to light. My friends and myself included have realized that everything isn't so black and white. I was young and foolish, all of us are, technically I still am." He ran his hand through his hair looking at his mother who was watching him waiting on him to finish before she spoke, "It was shortly after the Potters, James and Lily, got married that they found out something damning. It was quite a shock and from there we realized that the leader of the light isn't so light himself and what he has done has made what Voldemort is doing look like a kid throwing a tantrum in a candy store.

At least Voldemort is trying to be more diplomatic. The same can't be said for Dumbledore. The things we have found over the years, well it pulled us away from his side. I'm not sure if you know this or not but all of us pulled out of the infractions, of course both sides have tried to recruit us but we have chosen to remain neutral. Dumbledore though is getting more persistent and I am worried about my future godson." He focused again on his tea his mother stared at him sitting there in silence.

After a few moments she set her cup down and leaned forward a bit towards him, "So, you do not believe in the "Light" then? What is this that you found out, if you can tell me. If not, it doesn't fully matter and the unborn baby? Why should I be worried about a half-blood?"

Sirius let out a sigh, a defeated and weary look in his eyes. He knew his mother would be difficult she normally was, "Lily isn't a muggleborn. Before you interrupt me," he held up his hand, "the day they went to merge family trees and add her completely to the Potter Line something enlightening appeared on her side of the family tree. Before you try and argue with me or spit out about mudbloods, she gave me a couple things to give to you. Of course, these are duplicates but this is what caused our beliefs in Dumbledore to waver." He then passed her a copy lily made of her family tree and her father's journal.

Walburga was silent for a few moments as she looked over the family tree, he heard her take a large inhale of breath before she quickly opened the journal reading through the entire thing. It wasn't long, it seemed that the late Lord Kuhn only wrote in it when he had a secret he needed to relieve himself of or was particularly stressed. She then looked up at him after about thirty minutes closing the book, "This is most interesting indeed."

"Yes, I am sure you came to the same conclusion that we did, of who was responsible for the death of the Kuhns?"

"Yes, I believe I have. I take it you have come to me to be reinstated then, to have the Blacks help back the Potters?"

"Yes," the wizard let out another sigh, "I am not asking to become the Lord Heir, Regulus can keep that title if he wants it. I do want my godchild protected on all fronts though. Ours is an extensive and old family and our magic runs deep. James, his wife and their unborn son are the last of their prominent lines. I can only do so much to protect him as a disowned pureblood."

"Yes, that is indeed true." She gazed off a minute collecting her thoughts before turning back to her son, "I take it then, you feel as though you are threatened and that is why you have come crawling back?"

"Yes, we feel as though Dumbledore has begun to realize we know more than he wants us to know. Given what happened to Lily's birth parents they are afraid the same may repeat itself. If that is the case, he will try and get rid of everything in his path that knows what we have found out. After all he is playing the beloved leader. If word were to get out of his misdeeds the power, he has will be gone."

"So, you wish to come back here to have our backing and our protection in case something happens where the babe is parentless."

"If Dumbledore were to get rid of all of us in his way. The Potters and myself then he would probably try to place the babe elsewhere. Though, if I was reinstated."

"We would have first rights as you are the godfather and we are distantly related to the Potters, so we would have a firmer claim to the child's custody."

"Yes." Sirius then leaned back once more knowing his mother now knew his thoughts. The only problem was if she would indeed agree to do this.

"I will reinstate you on a number of conditions. Regulus will keep the Heir Title, you will be next in line if something were to happen. You are to write a formal apology to all of those you have wronged within our family line and I won't have you off scampering around and tarnishing our name further with your acts of indiscretion."

"I understand, and I accept your terms, Mother."

Lady Black then smiled shocking Sirius as she never really smiled at him, frowned, yelled and screamed, yes, smiling though, no. "Well then, As the Lady of the Most Ancient and Noble Black Family I hear by reinstate Sirius Orion Black into our family tree."

August 23rd 1981- Hog's Head Inn, Hogsmead

Dumbledore sat merrily in his brothers "fine" establishment. He could feel the daggers being glared at him and smirked happily to himself. He knew Alberforth would not be thrilled at his presence here and he was taking quite a thrill at irritating his younger brother. He knew he wouldn't throw him out and he needed this location to put his latest plan in motion. The Potters and their merry band of idiots were getting in his way and he needed them taken out. The best way to do that was to goad Voldemort into doing it for him.

Peter was a wealth of knowledge and he knew the rat was playing both sides of the field and was feeding both himself and Voldemort information. Smiling happily with everything Pettigrew had told him he now knew he would be getting things to land quite nicely into his lap once again. The Potters and Sirius were the biggest issue. He couldn't outright dispose of them himself because they were too big of public figures and from such well-known families. If he did this right he could get rid of the Potters, Black and Voldemort all in one go.

Soon enough a thin woman entered the establishment and sat across from him he focused his attention on her, "Hello Sybil," he held out his hand shaking hers, "it is a pleasure to meet the granddaughter of such a well-known seer. I would be thrilled to have you added onto our staff."

The woman flushed at the praise, "Thank you Albus I would be honored to work for Hogwarts."

He sat back smiling his eyes twinkling when he saw him out of the corner of his eye, perfect Severus Snape was here and would relay what he just saw to the Dark Lord with a quick and hidden flick of his wand he cast an imperio at the woman and soon enough she was relaying a false prophecy which sent Severus scurrying back to his master. Yes, everything was playing out quite nicely.

October 31st, 1981-Godric's Hallow

James and Lily sat worriedly in their temporary home. So much had gone wrong the last couple of months. A supposed prophecy was leaked marking their precious son their little Hadrian as a possible candidate foretelling the fall of the Dark Lord Voldemort. They now were a target regardless of their neutrality in the war and the just knew this had to have been orchestrated by one man. They currently feared for the lives of their little family. Just one month ago James' parents met an unsightly end they were mugged in Diagon Alley by an unknown individual.

Both parents tried to stay calm keeping the worry and fear hidden as much as possible as they could from their year-old son. James was currently entertaining him by shooting colorful bubbles out of is wand. She smiled at Harry's laughter as he reached out and popped the bubbles. She looked over at the time and slowly stood before picking up Harry laying a kiss on the top of his head and smiling at James, "It's time to get ready for bed love."

Harry snuggled close to her and she swayed gently holding him tight to her. James walked over and pulled her and Harry to him into a warm hug. He kissed her on the nose and then kissed Harry on his head a proud smile on his face. They were interrupted by the sound of a knock on the door, they looked at each other in confusion before James went to answer it. He slowly opened the door a crack his eyes widening in fear as he saw the Dark Lord standing there he quickly noted the glazed eyes recognizing the imperius, "Lily run! Take Harry and run! He is here!"

With a cry Lily quickly ran to Harry's room while hearing spell fire in the rooms she just vacated. She quickly grabbed their overnight bag and went to the window forcing it open. The sound of footsteps sounded, and she quickly jumped in front of Harry finding herself face to face with Lord Voldemort. Tears filled her eyes as she stared at the man, "Please, not my son, not my Harry. Please, take me instead. Don't kill my baby."

The man looked at her coldly, "Stand aside silly girl, stand aside and I will spare you."

"No! I won't let you take him, I won't let you kill him." Unknown to either wizard the imperioed Voldemort and Dumbledore who had taken control of them, Lily quickly pushed her magic inside of her son knowing the enchantment she spent all her time coming up with in the Department of Mysteries would hopefully spare him with her sacrifice.

The woman looked up at the man before her, resigned with her fate, tears staining her cheeks hoping her protection would work, hoping beyond hope that her son will live. She saw the wand level itself in front of her and she heard the echo of the words, not quite registering as she took one last look at her precious child as she was engulfed in green. As she fell her life no longer on that plane of existence the wand faced one more time at the crying child in the crib engulfing the child in the brilliant green light which was to give him the same fate of his parents. Though, through all her research the protection did indeed work. A brilliant white light counteracted it sending out a scream of pain from the other man, leaving the ruin for protection engraved in her son's head sealing his fate as "The-Boy-Who-Lived" marking him for a false prophecy that would later to be learned as a fake.
