After a awkward goodbye, Nick and Judy parted ways. Nick was in a rush to get home, he had a date to prepare for.
Nick arrived home about 5 minutes later, Man this place is a mess but I don't have time for this. he thought. Nick rushed into his room, trying to find something somewhat decent for his date. "Wait a minute, I'm trying to get out of this relationship, Not stay in it. I need something that is a major turn off... AHA! Perfect." Nick finished the thought while he pulled a disgusting pair of cashmere pants and a cashmier shirt to go with it. Nick would have never worn such a pair of ugly clothing. But tonight was the Night, the Night he needed to get dumped.
Nick, being the cleaver fox he was, came to the conclusion that it was going to take a whole lot more than ugly clothes to get this fox to break up with him. Nick decided that he should run about 10 minutes late, and he decided that he didn't need a shower, even though he could have really used one. He decided that Personal Hygiene was not necessary and it helped him.
After about 25 minutes, Nick had managed to look as least professional as he could. Nick looked at his watch, and realized that he was running late. "PERFECT!"Nick was kinda sad, sad to be breaking off a relationship that was going so well. In that moment, Nick contemplated about going through with his plan. To admit, Tatum had a nice body, she was nice, and she for sure could give him kits. Nick was unsure if Judy would want to have Kits with him, if they could have kits.
"Judy could move on and have a meet a rabbit and have little rabbits of her own someday." Nick thought and then dismissed it.
"Then again, we could maybe try and start a family. I meant Judy did say she was in love with me. Nick knew that his mind was now made up. Nick had to go with his gut.
Nick grabbed his keys, locked his apartment door, and raced to his girlfriends house.
Nick arrived about 5 minutes later. He knocked on the door and waited.
"Come in!" He heard his girlfriend say from the other side of the door.
Nick walked in and greeted Tatum with a hug. She returned the hug. "Sorry i'm late, work had me running a little late today."
"It's okayyy, I'm just glad your here, we need to talk." Tatum sighed.
Nick and Tatum left to the dinner room table. When Nick and Tatum had finally started eating, Nick spoke up, putting his plan into action.
"Well what's up, What did you want to talk about?"
"Well umm, I wanted to talk about us." Tatum paused, then continued"Nick, I really like you, and I was wondering... well I was wondering how you felt."
Nick knew this was the defining moment. "Look Tatum, I'm not going to lie to you, I really do like you, but this relationship isn't working."
Tatum was staring at Nick in total disbelief, suddenly the emotions came pouring out"WAIT! WHAT! Why not! Was it something I did, something I did!?"
"Oh no no no, Tatum, you have done nothing wrong. I just have feelings for someone else and I don't want to give you something I'm not. I'm not the fox you think I am, I haven't always been a cop, I've done some stuff I'm not proud off. You are such a sweet fox, you deserve so much better than this fox." Nick said, trying not to stud-er.
Tatum didn't know how to respond. She felt like she should be mad at Nick, but she also felt that she was glad he told her the truth, one thing she really hated was being lied too.
"Well Nick, even though I am extremely upset with you, Thanks for at least being honest with me. Now I think it is best that you leave." Tatum replied sadly, trying to hold back the tears.
"I wasn't going to lie to you, to try to be something that I am not. Someday, your going to have a family of your own with an amazing mate by your side, but it won't be with me." Nick said as he got up and headed for the door. Tatum didn't respond as she watched Nick walked out the door and walk out of her life. As soon as Nick closed the door, Tatum lost it.
After saying goodbye to Nick, which was pretty awkward, Judy headed to her small and crappy apartment. Judy was depressed but understanding that Nick wasn't able to hang out after work. Why can't I just accept that Nick found his special someone" Judy thought as she unlocked her door. Judy headed into her apartment and decided to crash on her bed, Judy was dead-beat tired. Being Jealous sure was tiring for the rabbit. If Judy wasn't thinking about work related stuff. She was thinking about Nick, his dreamy fur and features, Judy would sometimes fantasize about her and Nick, she imagined herself cuddling and snuggling with him at night, nothing sexual of course, well very seldomly at least. She imagined herself being in his arms, having his tongue roam her mouth, and sometimes have his tongue roam lower...
"WAIT!, Nick has a girlfriend! I can't be thinking of him like this." Judy was blushing like crazy
"It doesn't hurt to think like this, he is a cute fox after all" She heard her mind retort
Her mind was right about one thing, Judy did find Nick cute. Judy pulled out her phone and pulled up the photo that she looked at almost every night since she had taken it. It was of course the picture of Nick sleeping on the Job in the police cruiser. Judy had long since memorized the photo in it's entirety, Judy's curious eyes focused on Nick's lips, Judy then wondered how Nick's lips would feel like on hers. To be pressed against his body, to be in his warming embrace. Even tho she pretended to be annoyed, she loved it when called her cute. She liked to look at herself, as Nick's cute little rabbit. Judy had also imagined the impossible, that maybe one day she would be able to have kits with Nick. She imagined what type of father he would be. She imagined him to be an excellent Father and Mate.
"And now, all that will never happen, he will Marry his girlfriend, have kits and start a family of his own" she said to herself. Judy started to cry at the thought. However, Judy's crying did earn her some unwanted attention.
"Will you keep it down it over there!" She heard Prong yell through the wall.
"Leave her alone!, she's clearly upset and is very emotional" she heard her other neighbor respond.
"No you shut up!"
"No you shut up!"
With the annoying bickering, and the emotional state Judy was in, Judy was fed up. Of all the things Judy needed, listening to her neighbors bicker and argue was not one of them.
Heaving all the anger she could summon, she focused all the rage she could could muster at the wall
"BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP!" Judy was breathing heavily. She had never yelled that hard at anyone in her life. Judy was glad that she didn't receive a response for the rest of the Night. Judy returned back to her thoughts "Maybe I should move on, obviously that vixen makes Nick rrrrrr" Judy didn't have the chance to finish the thought, for she fell fast asleep dreaming about her and Nick.
Nick arrived home and was actually surprised how well Tatum had taken the news. He had expected her to not take the news not well at all. He thought she would go nuts and throw something at his head. Nick was halfway done, he knew that hard part was just to come.
"Now what would be the best way to trick Judy to confess?" Nick pondered as he got ready for bed.
Nick had thought of three potential scenarios for his plan. One Scenario included Nick just confronting Judy on the spot and calling her out on it. To him this option seemed the less successful. The Second Scenario was that during patrol tomorrow, Nick would bring up getting dumped by his now ex girlfriend and hopefully get Judy to admit her feelings for her on her own, without the use of the carrot pen. The Third scenario included the second scenario but if and when Nick confronted her about her feelings, He would then use the carrot recording pen to call her out and would use this to confess to Judy his feelings. In all reality, Nick decided that the first scenario wouldn't work because Judy had a chance to deny everything. The Second scenario was better but still not full-proof, mostly because he figured she would be pretty scared in revealing her feelings to him, especially if she didn't know how Nick exactly felt. Nick did exactly know where she was coming from. The reason he didn't tell Judy his feelings was because he felt that if he told her and she didn't feel the same way, then their relationship could be ruined and that was something that Nick couldn't afford to loose. "Well I guess it's number three then, I just hope that this works" Nick thought to himself as he in bed and soon drifted to sleep.
Tomorrow was the day, the day that hopefully everything would go okay and by this time tomorrow Night, Judy would be his girlfriend. However, Nick would learn, that when you plan for something, things really never go to plan.
/Sorry for the cliff-hanger, but all will be revealed in the next chapter. ;)
