I suddenly thought of this scene as I was re-reading the death mountain chapter and this popped into my head. My cat started walking over my keyboard, wish he'd stop, he's already shut down my internet access once , and it reminded me of the cats in twilight princess. XD
The last chapter ended kind of weird, maybe later I'll write another one where everyone meets Darunia and Link the goron. That'll be funny.
It was shortly after discovering Ben's past life as an elven hero that she noticed the change in demeanor of the local cats. Before, they lazed around and did what any normal cat did, but now...
It's like they make it their personal goal in life to be noticed by her cousin.
They swarmed him in groups, practically climbing on top of him, meowing and purring happily, even the ones who were known to be grumpy old cats were drawn to him.
She noticed they tended to stay away from Damian, but that was mostly likely because his cold personality to basically everyone. (Though slightly warmer to Ben only.) Hell, they even crowded around Nebula, the wolf pup. He was only annoyed by the cats when they came in large numbers and tried to smother the poor dog.
Though they never followed him inside buildings before, so it was quite a surprise to see her cousin bring one in. With the placement of the cat, it was hard to tell if he knew it was there in the first place.
Her and Kevin were lounging on the couch at her house waiting for Ben when he strolled in. He must not have noticed it but Kevin sure did, for he burst into hysterical laughter.
Ben glanced at him, confused, "What are you laughing at?"
Gwen saw it as well and smiled, "Did you not notice the cat on your head?"
"I have a what on my head?"
Kevin's laughter grew louder as he said that. Ben shifted his eyes upward and finally noticed the tiny, brown kitten curled up on his head. The kitten's brown eyes connected with Ben's and it gave a cheerful meow at finally being seen.
It tumbled down into his lap when Ben took a seat on a chair facing the couch, purring and rubbing against his side. Kevin's laughter finally ceased but he still had a big grin on his face.
"What's up with the cat, never seen one so relaxed on someone's head before." He said, watching his green-clad friend scratch the kitten to its' great pleasure.
"All the cats are like that around him if you haven't noticed." Gwen stated. She turned her attention to Kevin as she said that, "Why are they-"
She stopped short as she spotted three more cats swarmed Ben.
"What the hell?" Kevin exclaimed, "Where the hell did they come from!"
The cats ignored his sudden outburst in favor of rubbing against Ben's side, gently, something Gwen wouldn't believe, clawing at his clothing for attention.
She took a moment to briefly examine the room to determine if there was an opening somewhere for the cats to have gotten in. Kevin swore and she quickly turned her attention back to the others, only to find a whole horde of cats in her living room, pawing and meowing softly in an attempt to get the alien hero's attention.
"Ben." She stated firmly using her no-nonsense tone of voice. There was a lot bunch of felines in her house and she wanted to know why.
Her cousin smiled, "I don't actually know why all the cats seem to like me this much. Any cat I came across in my past life acted the same way."
The other two were silent, only the meows of cats were the only thing heard. Gwen sighed, "Alright, I don't get it, but get them out of my house."
XD That scene with the cats suddenly appear comes from an anime called Acchi Kocchi (Place to Place) part b of episode 5. (The episodes are split into two parts.) It was so funny and it fit really well that I had to use it. :D Sorry it's so short, I was running out of ideas on how to lengthen it.
Well, please leave a review!
