Ehhhh, it's been a while. Sorry bout that... Hope this extra long chapter will make up for it. I didn't have any ideas on what to write next but one reviewer asked for something in particular and it just got the ideas flowing. So thanks to ARSLOTHES for giving some idea on what to do. Hope this meets your exceptions.

Ever since his awakening, he began having an odd fascination with trains, steam trains, electric trains, old prototypes trains. Anything to do with locomotives brought out a life time of knowledge that he honestly didn't remember living.

Damn multiple time lines screwing up his memory.

That was the only explanation Ben had for the strange awareness of the ins and outs of a steam engine.

"Hey Zel," He called, drawing the attention of the blue-eyed girl from her oh so captivating sheet of homework. "Do you ever get any weird memories concerning trains?"

Leslie, formally known as the Hyrulian Princess Zelda, paused, gently tapping her pencil on the coffee table in Ben's living room as she wondered about the nature of Ben's question.

"A tad," She finally said after a moment of silence, "I do have some memories about traversing a land, one that's unfamiliar yet I feel like I've lived there my whole life. Though with those memories are concerned I feel more of a connection with a suit of armor strangely."

"So what, is this some kind of Fullmetal Alchemist on tracks?" he grinned, "Does that make me Edward then?"

Leslie shot him a contemptative look, which slowly melted into amusement, "Well, you'd certainly fit the part. Crazy, Blonde, most of the time..." A grin slowly creeping on her face, "And short."

"I-I am not short." Ben retorted, a blush of embarrassment dusting his face, "I'm just vertically-challenge."

"Uh-huh. Sure you are."

"Not my fault you're taller than me in most of our lifetimes." He grumbled jokingly which resulted in a giggle from the girl.

"Ah, but speaking of Full-metal Alchemist, something about Alphonse feels very familiar." Leslie said, settling herself in a thoughtful position, "Perhaps I was a spirit bound to a suit of armor."

Ben nodded once in agreement, "Eh, that does sound somewhat familiar. Though I feel like we're still missing something. You think we'll find something in the-"

"No" Leslie responded instantly.

"Oh come on Zel."

"I will not have you find some other mystical item from our past and get us both in trouble with your cousin, again. Gods forbid you find a time-traveling harp or a talking hat and get caught up in some grand adventure again."

"Oh come Zel, I'm not that bad-" Ben tried to defended himself but Leslie cut him off.

"You wondered into the forest for less than an hour and came back with three identical clones of yourself. Sit down."

Ben let himself fall into the cushions of his couch, grumbling about not being a child and he could take care of himself. It certainly wasn't his fault the Four Sword Sanctuary decided to show up when it did.

"You should use this equation for this one Miss." A high-pitched squeaky voice chirped out from the table. Leslie blinked, bringing herself to see the tiny-long eared creature standing on top of her homework, inspecting the ink words on the page. Her voiced spooked him a bit, he honestly forgot what they were doing here.

She smiled, "Oh thank you Hanari. You've been a great help, but I think Link would appreciate the help more."

"Oh haha, laugh it up." Ben replied sarcastically, frowning when soft giggling reached his eyes, "That's wasn't a joke Kimari."

A cute little female minish dressed in pink petals giggled, "Sorry Mr. Link" She sang, not at all apologetic, "But if you actually listened to your teachers you wouldn't be needing so much assistance unlike Ms. Zelda of course."

"Ouch," Ben winced, just a tad too dramatically, "You really know where to strike my weakness for maximum damage."

The three females giggled at his antics, "But is it really fair to judge my academics to Zel huh? Oh miss embodiment of wisdom?"

Leslei scoffed, "Please, the last thing you need is more knowledge on how to set things on fire."

"That was one time Zel! One!" Ben complained, "You'll never let me forget it will you?"

"If it prevents you from doing it again, I'll remind you everyday." Leslie said with a smirk.

The hero was left grumbling at his math homework, "Light one field of grass on fire and even in a new life nobody will let me get over it."

"I thought you said it was an accident."

"I-IT WAS!"

The unconvinced glances shot his way forced him to look down to avoid them. It really was an accident that field was on fire! It's not like he was swinging around a lit torch just for the hell of it or anything.

Looking down at the dreaded problems he spent the last few hours trying to solve the green-eyed hero noticed a strange set of notes he accidentally scribbled on the page, the notes starting off slow with two soft beats before ascending into a short but energetic tune that sounded strangely familiar.

"More memories leaking through Mr. Link?" Kimari asked, skipping over to the chord of notes in interest.

"Most likely." He replied, "Gods, why couldn't hey show up in a more convenient manner besides defacing my homework."t

"I don't know Mr. Link," Kimari said, honestly, "But this song sounds like it'd be great for getting you out of bed in the morning."

"What makes you say that?"

Hanari walked up to her sister, reading the notes together, "I sense some kind of magic within the notes," She said, looking up at her much larger friends, "Something about awakening I guess."

"Ah, but that song does sound very familiar," Leslie chimed in, examining the notes in interest, "I seem to recall many songs but only a few stick out the most."

"Let me guess, Zelda's Lullaby and the Song of Time?" Ben questioned with a grin.

"Naturally," Leslie voiced offhandedly, "But there's another one that I simply can't think of the name. And for some reason I can only recall part of it."

"Huh," Ben commented, "Now that I think about it, there's one song I can only remember half of as well."

The accompanying silence was taken up by thoughts of a half song the two barely recognized.

"Do you think it's a duet?" Hanari mused, her high-pitched voice drawing the two reincarnated souls to her. The two looked at each in wonder.

"It...could be." Ben finally said, "Depends on what your half sounds like though."

The girl nodded, humming in agreement, "Never hurts to try though." Bringing out a 7-holed ocarina, she looked at in mild perplexity, "Hmmm, I feel like this is the correct type of instrument but I can't image using it in particular."

"Must be another type of wind instrument then," Ben responded, pulling out his own bright blue ocarina, "Guess we'll have to work with what we've got."

Putting the ocarina to her lips, Leslie began playing a series of notes that sprung to her mind instantly, stopping briefly to await Ben's accompaniment. They continued with this method a couple of time, stopping to allow the other to complete their part of the song first, before coming together to play at the same time.

They were so invested in the melody from a lifetime ago, they didn't realize other forces were joining in on their performance. A series of string instruments began playing, followed up by a pair of drums and finally accompanied by two different types of flutes.

The two little minish girls could only watch in amazement as the duet turned into a full-sized symphony, crying in disappointment when it ended shortly after.

"Oh, why'd you guys stop?" Kimari exclaimed, Hanari nodding in agreement "That was beautiful!"

Leslie smiled, "It can't be helped, as beautiful as it is, it's a short song sadly."

Ben smirked a mischevious grin, "Would you like a second play?"

"Yes! But don't think you're getting out of doing your homework just because you played a pretty song!"

"Dammit."

"Remind me why we're doing this again?" Damian asked a tad annoyed from being taken away from his fun of terrorizing his fellow classmates.

Ben sighed, this was the third time his darker half asked the same question, "Grandpa says some archaeologists found some really ancient artifacts that don't match the surrounding area's history. He's suspecting it's actually some kind of alien technology that was abandoned by some alien species long ago."

"Ah, right. Forgot you're dealing with extraterrestrial freaks now." Damian sighed, "Why can't we ever have a normal life?"

"You say that, but could you really stand a normal, boring life, liiiiike, we used to have?"

"Point taken, I still blame you for everything's that happened."

"You do realize we are the same person right?"

"Psh, as if. I am much too awesome to be compared to the likes of you."

"Insulting yourself is a bit much don't you-"

"All right girls you're both lovely," Kevin chimed in, barely able to contain the amusement.

"Shut up Emo!"

"Can you guys not get into an argument here?" Gwen groaned. Where 'here' was a grassy field packed to the brim with human and alien members of the plumbers, an intergalactic law-enforcement organization that sought to protect the planets from any alien forces that threatened the universe.

Leading the investigation was the cousins' very own Grandfather, Max Tennyson. Considering the nature of Damian and what that meant as a whole, it was very difficult to hide everything from the aging plumber, not that they tried to hide anything in the first place.

He had been shocked, to no one's surprise, reincarnation is a hard topic to swallow no matter what life had managed to throw at them and Grandpa Max had been through some strange things, many things that would leave others mind boggled or questioning their place in the universe.

Ever since his grandson found the Omintrix, life has been throwing one curve ball after another.

His 'darker half' had been a quite a surprise, never had he ever thought he'd see a swearing, violent, almost child Kevin-like, version of his kin in such a manner.

"Alright you guys, no more arguing," he declared in such a manner not even Damian dared disobeyed him, "We're nearing the sight."

The grassy fields were disturbed periodically with strange metallic like structures poking out of the ground.

There was something about this place that nagged at Ben's psyche. Was it someplace he had been when he was younger, still as Ben that he simply couldn't remember, or was it another life he was experiencing.

"You feel it too Dark?" Ben asked his darker half. He nodded with a nervous twitch to his actions.

"Yeah, something about this place just sets me off." Damian confirmed, it was a past life after all.

"Let me guess," Kevin retorted with a sarcastic tone, the answer obvious to the same group of people, "Some kind of past life vibe?"

They had been running into figures from Ben's past more and more often that it was starting to become a daily occurrence. Kevin and Gwen actually took bets on when the next one would show up and what it would be that decided to show it's face after so long.

"Oh yeah, something about this place makes me want to hide behind a tree and get as far away from here as quickly as possible." Damian muttered.

"I feel like I can hear a piano playing." Ben agreed, for once the two actually agreeing on something, "Just hearing that song makes me what to get the hell out of here."

Kevin snorted, "You mean there are actually things that scare the 'great and mighty hero' Ben Tennyson. Color me surprised."

"Oh there are plenty of things that'll send even you screaming for mommy, Emo." Damian shuttered, "The question you should be asking if it's worth fighting against a nightmare or simply running for the hills."

"A wise question indeed," Grandpa Max acknowledged, for all of Damian's swearing and generally fierce personality he would occasionally say something that reinforced his elder soul. "Sometimes retreat is the only option available."

"Heh, that's certainly a first. Me, wise? And here I thought Link's utter stupidity infected me a long time ago."

"You know you are insulting yourself right?"

"Why do you have to keep bringing that up?!"

"You know it's true!"

Gwen sighed in frustration as the two started up another agruement she would eventually have to break up when they annoyed her. Grandpa Max only chuckled at the display.

"Why are you encouraging them Grandpa?" Gwen questioned the elder Tennyson, her annoyance lacing her face with a frown.

"Brothers are known for engaging in arguments with each other. Your father and Uncle had quite a few over the silliest things when they were young." He responded to her astonishment.

With Ben and Damian's constant references to being a reflection of each other, it was fairly easy to overlook that they appeared as twins and behaved as such to anyone not in the know.

"They're still annoying."

He laughed at her reply, "True, but would you have them any other way?"

Before she could answer, Max stopped, looking over a strange machine-like device that was being excavated from the earth. It was tall, easier towering over her and Kevin, with strange grooves etched into it's bottom and a single eye situated in a separate cylinder head that appeared to be able to pivot from the base, most likely some kind of security device. It looked clunky and nothing like any of the more stream-lined alien technology she's ever seen. The half-Anodite wondered how it would move with it's linked spider like legs and clawed feet.

"As anyone in the Plumbers seen something like this before Grandpa?" Gwen asked him to which he shook his head.

"No, it's the first time anyone's seen something like this."

Kevin snorted again, "Bet you $100 I know someone whose seen this before."

The two Tennyson kin looked at him for a response, he sighed, "Something you've seen before Benj-"

The pale-faced terror on the younger boy's face not only convinced everyone that he had seen it, but it was, or it used to be, dangerous.

"O-oh, god that gave me a heart attack." He breathed a sigh of relief, Damian nodding frantically.

"Aye, it's ancient and decayed, but it still scares the shit out of me." Damian admitted to the disbelief of the other two his 'age.'

"What is it Ben?" Grandpa Max asked with some sense of urgency, "Some unknown alien weapon or-"

"It's from Earth Grandpa, nothing alien involved fortunately." Ben began, "Can you image trying to take one of those things out if it was an alien weapon, Dark?"

"Gods those things were tough enough to destroy as it was, I don't even want to imagine some crazed alien tinkering with one to make it more of an ass." he glowered darkly.

Gwen raised an eyebrow, "Are you saying you've actually fought this thing? What is it anyway?"

Ben winced, more likely reliving an ancient past, "They're called Guardian Stalkers, lovely name I know. Though they may be strong, Guardian Stalkers were mostly used as an aid in a war against a primal evil known as Calamity Ganon rather than an actual weapon."

"And how does that translate to you having to fight them?" Some members of the plumbers were listening with vapid attention on the origins of the newly dubbed, 'Guardian Stalkers.'

"Well...How long would it be now Dark?" He inquired receiving a blank look from his counter part, "Anyway, legends have said that Calamity Ganon was sealed away by the 'Spirit of the Hero' and the 'Goddess-blooded Princess' with an untold number of Guardians and four massive mobile fortresses known as Divine Beasts supporting them in the battle."

"Goddess-blooded princess?" Gwen scoffed with just enough doubt even a blind man could see it, "Sorry if I find that hard to believe."

"Yeah well, the Goddess Hylia will no doubt have a word with you for dissing her bloodline." Damian said, a tad fearful, "And that's what you chose to focus on?!"

"Knock it off," Max interjected, causing both of them to fall silent, "Now, if would continue Ben. Why would these things attack you if they were designed to assist you."

"Never said the ancient hero was me," Ben said lightly, ignoring the incredulous looks he was receiving, "Anyway, about 10,000 years after the initial sealing, signs of Calamity Ganon's revival were being to show, a prophecy in fact, a hundred years before he was set to be awakened. In response to this, the people of Hyrule had hoped to locate and excavate the Divine Beasts and Guardians to once again be used in the battle against Calamity Ganon."

"But Ganon came prepared this time," Damian continued with a sullen look of despair, a shock to not only see someone with Ben's face with that expression but the fact it was Damian that held that look made it all the more horrifying. "When the seal broke, Ganon used his power to corrupt not only the guardians but the Divine Beast as well, turning every machine against the very people they were built to protect. You can't even begin to image the terror of having your own army turn against you like that."

"And you fought these things alone?!" Max exclaimed, horrified to imagine his grandson facing off against such creatures alone without the aid of even the Omnitrix. Ben had always said he had fought opposed to the greatest evils imaginable by himself, bearing a few battles where he had outside assistance, but he usually fought alone.

"We were the only ones still alive that could fight them," Ben said darkly, his own face matching Damian's perfectly, "And even then we barely managed to survive."

"Aye," Damian added, "We took quite a few of these bastards out but if it wasn't for Zelda's quick thinking and a little thing called 'The Shrine of Resurrection' we would have died for sure."

Even for some of the Plumbers who doubted the twin's tales could only shudder at the thought of receiving such grievous wounds that they would have to use such an ominously named healing device just to survive.

"When our wounds were healed, we discovered it took the damn shrine a hundred years to fix us up properly, and in that time, Hyrule had fallen into ruin." Damian spoke with a sour look, "And these damn bastards were roaming the landscape attacking anyone that was stupid enough to fall in their line of sight. They may look stupid but those freakin' lasers they shoot hurt like a bitch."

"Lasers? What kind of tale are you spinning Tennyson?" a random plumber remarked, "There's no way humanity had that kind of technology when they were still using iron swords."

The two shrugged, clearing not caring if the others believed them or not. "Believe us or not, doesn't matter much in the long run." Damian claimed walking up to the guardian and giving it a harsh kick, "There's no way Sheikah technology could function properly after this long-"

A deep warbling sound cut him off as the color instantly drained from his face. The etchings glowing a sinister purple color that set everyone on edge, as the machine lifted itself off the ground using it's spider-like legs, it's blue eye darting back and forth attempting to locate a target.

"-Oh Shit..."

It's eye began flashing red, a ticking noise gradually gaining speed as everyone realized it was taking aim.

"DUCK AND COVER!"

Everyone dropped to the ground with the closest rolling away as a beam of super-heated plasma blasted above their heads. A huge explosion sounded off, throwing up clouds of flames and dirt that they began to realize the true power of a Guardian Stalker.

"Please tell me you have an ancient arrow Link!"

"Why the hell would I have an ancient arrow!? In case you hadn't noticed, Robbie's not around to make us more!"

"BEN! Just shut up and tell me how to defeat this thing!" Gwen screamed over the chaos. Pink aura gleaming from her hands as she put up barrier after barrier. Those blasts were powerful enough to completely disintegrate her mana shields.

"Aim for it's legs!" Ben yelled back at her, "You can cut off it's legs and stop it from moving! If that doesn't work aim for the eye! It's the only weakness this thing has!"

"May I remind you that only a guardian type weapon is capable of severing it's legs!" Damian bellowed, "The only thing that does any kind of damage against it is itself!"

"Well, I guess I know what I'm doing." Kevin grumbled, "Gwen! Cover me! I'm going in!"

Since Kevin was the closest thing to the Guardian it attempted to back up, gaining distance from it's own blast and taking aim again, but Kevin kept closing in on it and soon he was too close for the machine to safely fire. Placing one hand on the machine, he quickly took note of the composition of the noting with some degree of fascination over the make up of the automaton. His arm wrapped in the same material as the beast, before he severing one of the legs, watching in amusement as the Guardian flailed about in desperation to keep steady.

With it's immobile state, the Guardian took aim at the closest enemy to it, no longer concerned with getting caught in the blast radius, to which Kevin scoffed before clawing it's eye out. White light broke through the metal exterior as the Osmosian realized with some horror that it was about to self-destruct.

Pink light enveloped him just a second before the guardian exploded in a fiery white light, bits and pieces of it scattering to the earth with a thud.

Ben commented, "You know, I never thought I'd one fighting one of these things again."

"Tell me about it, I thought these things stopped ages ago."

"Yeah," the hero breathed a sigh of relief, "At least it was only one of the-"

Multiple warbling sounds resonated with the destruction of the Guardian, as the heroes looked on in dread as the field became alight with purple.

"Have I told you how much I hate you Link?"

"As of right now, I can't help but hate myself Dark."

I don't know what to say in this author's note, I know many people were waiting for the next chapter but I simply lost inspiration, like I tend to do sadly, and I'm rather low on ideas for new chapters, so if anyone has a thought on what the next one would be I'd love to hear it.

Though my cat had some other plans, sitting in front of my keyboard and trying to bite me if I got too close to his face. Little devil.

Fun note-every time I wrote Leslie's name I had to consciously remind myself not to write Zelda in it's place. XD
