I fell asleep, again? Hiei thought to himself as he stirred awake, This is really starting to piss me off. He opened his eyes. He was still in Kurama's house. Everyone was still sitting around the living room.

"You're awake," Kurama said, "you were only asleep for about 20 minutes."

"These naps are getting on my nerves," he replied angrily.

A bright light filled the room. A huge hole appeared in the middle of everything and Koenma walked through it. He was in his toddler form and said, "Yusuke I know you're not a spirit detective anymore but I need your help!"

"What the hell, Koenma?" he asked, "What's going on?"

"It's Joji!" Koenma explained, "he's escaped from spirit world prison and he made it to the living world!"

Kurama said, "That name."

Yusuke demanded, "Who the hell is that?"

He explained, "A powerful demon that took caused serious problems for all worlds several hundred years ago. He can make a puppet out of any human and possess any demon! Not even the SDF can handle this. I have to go back and try and track his whereabouts, I'm sending Botan out more information so keep an eye out for her." He disappeared back into the portal and that too disappeared with him.

"That doesn't tell us much," Yusuke complained.

"I've heard that name before," Hiei confessed, "Where was it from?"

"Joji," Kurama said, "he was quite a problem about 500 years ago. He's the real reason the kakai barrier was ever put into place."

Hiei replied, "That's where I heard of him from! He went into the living world and would make humans his own personal marianettes. He caused countless wars among humans for no reason, just to watch the blood spill."

Kuwabara said, "It's almost like you speak fondly of him. That sounds terrible, you know."

"I was compared to him once," he said, "that's the only reason why I knew about him." Kuwabara stared at him like he was crazy.

Kurama said, "I thought maybe spirit world killed him off years ago."

"Did you ever meet the guy?" Yusuke asked.

"No," he replied, "but he's a mazaku, like you Yusuke."

"Why didn't Koenma just say that?" Yusuke demanded, he stood up and said, "Well I'm sure as hell not going to let a demon like me take over the world even if I'm not spirit detective anymore. Screw that!"

Kuwabara said, "Wait a minute Urameshi, we don't even know where this guy is."

"Hiei can't you use your jagan eye to-nevermind," Yusuke said. Hiei gave him a death glare.

Yukina asked, "It takes demon enery to use your jagan eye?"

"It does," he said defensively.

The bright light reappeared only this time Koenma just shouted through it, "Get to spirit world at once Yusuke! No time to send Botan!" The rip in space grew larger.

Kurama said, "If we have time we'll give you updates when we can." Then he walked through the portal. The other two followed him and the portal closed back up.

Yukina said, "This makes me nervous, I think we should go back to the temple."

"That's all the shopping I can handle for this month," Genkai said, just reaching the top of her stairs with her arms full of bags.

Yukina was right behind her with Hiei on her back. "I think Hiei's down for the count too," she replied. They walked back over to the temple and Yukina left him in his room.

When Hiei woke up he sat up in bed. Son of a-he thought. Yukina's screams from outside interupted his thoughts. He ran outside and saw she was being held by a large demon. In an instant he cut off the demon's arm and grabbed her.

The large demon screamed in pain. Yukina stood up and said, "Get away from me!" She shot ice shards at him and killed him instantly.

"Yukina," he said, "I didn't know you could do that."

"I'm not completely helpless," she replied, "but where did he come from?" Genkai appeared behind them. "Master Genkai?" Yukina asked.

Hiei looked into her eyes and saw they were glazed over. "It's not her, get away, quick," Hiei said as he drew his sword.

"I can't just leave you here," Yukina said, "Genkai snap out of it."

Genkai started revving up a spirit gun. "Move!" Hiei shouted, he pushed her off of the porch and cut the blast in half with his sword before it could hit him. His arms were starting to hurt just from swinging his sword. "Joji, reveal yourself," he demanded.

Yukina asked, "Is he nearby?"

"He has to be in order to control humans," he replied while looking around. Genkai's eyes were still glazed over as she prepared a shotgun blast. Hiei jumped out of the way in time while she destroyed part of the temple.

"Hiei!" Yukina shouted and ran over to his side, "We have to get help."
