"How do we kill Joji?" Kuwabara asked as another ice attack rained down on them, "We can't even fight Yukina, a non-fighter!" He cut the ice away from him again.

"I'll do it, keep her distracted," Kurama said as he struggled to his feet, still bleeding, and grabbed his rose whip. When Yukina readied another attack he ran inside the building. He found Joji's body surprisingly unprotected and cut it open, killing him instantly.

Yukina fainted and fell off the roof of the building. "I've got her!" Kuwabara shouted as she landed in his arms.

"Kazuma?" she asked, "What happened?"

Yusuke said, "Let's get everyone healed up before we remind ourselves what just happened." He looked over at Hiei. "Hiei!"

Kuwabara put Yukina down and they walked over to him. "He's so badly injured," Yukina said nervously, "I don't know if my healing powers will be strong enough." She touched Hiei's back and funneled her energy into him.

Pain ripped through Hiei's body. He stayed completely still so he wouldn't cause unnessessary pain and kept his eyes closed.

"Poor Yukina," Botan said. Hiei held his breath, What happened to her? he thought. She continued, "Look at her, all tuckered out from trying to heal Hiei."

"You know grandma," Yusuke said, "you could have stopped Hiei from going."

Genkai replied, "You really think I could keep him here against his will? He lost his demon energy not his willingness to fight." He smirked at that but kept listening.

"How are you doing over there, Kurama?" Yusuke asked.

"I'll be fine," he answered, "the cut wasn't as deep as I thought it was. Was I really fighting all of you?"

Kuwabara said, "Well you only went up against Hiei really, you kicked Urameshi's ass easily."

"Oh shut up," Yusuke said, "at least now we know the answer. Hiei vs. Kurama, Hiei would win!"

"Oh come on," Kuwabara replied, "Kurama wasn't even in his right mind."

"Hiei doesn't have any demon energy and he still beat him!" Yusuke retorted.

Botan said, "Wait a minute, Hiei's the one that's passed out over here and Kurama's still concious. I'd say Kurama won."

Kurama said, "Would you be quiet? To be honest, I don't ever want to go into a true fight against Hiei or any of you."

Genkai asked, "The real question is why won't anyone's healing power work on Hiei's injuries?" She put another blanket over his body so he wouldn't get colder. His jacket and shirt were covered in blood and shredded so they took those off of him and left them to be cleaned later.

"Do you think there's still some poison left in him?" Yusuke asked.

"It appears his body is going back to normal," Kurama said, "but it's not healing like it used to for some reason."

Hiei sat up and opened his eyes. He tried not to show much pain he was in by just looking uncomfortable. He looked down at himself and saw that he was covered in bandages. He looked at everyone else and saw that Yukina was sleeping in a bed beside him. "What happened?" he demanded, flinching in pain.

"Kurama killed Joji easily when he was possessing Yukina," Yusuke explained, "I still can't believe she's so strong." He looked over at her.

Botan said, "Well she is H-" she stopped and covered her mouth as Hiei glared at her, "uh, I mean, yes it is surprising." She avoided looking at Hiei.

"You okay, Botan?" Kuwabara asked.

"Fine, fine!" she replied just as her communicator started ringing. "Koenma sir?" she asked as she opened it.

"Botan, get a blood sample from Hiei!" Koenma commanded, "I can test it to see why his body isn't healing normally."

Yusuke said sarcastically, "It's nice to see you too, Mr. Toddler."

"How much do you need?" Botan asked.

"Just a blood soaked bandage will do," he replied, he hung up.

"Well that was rude of him," Botan said, putting her communicator away.

Hiei said, "Just take my jacket, that should have enough blood on it." He looked at his shirt and jacket at the foot of his bed, covered in blood.

Yusuke asked, "You're being compliant? That never happens."

"You think I don't want to know why I won't heal?" he asked angrily.

"Good point," he replied while picking up Hiei's jacket.

Everyone left not long after that. Instead of lazing around inside Hiei took a few blankets and spent the night sitting outside of the nearly destroyed temple. Around midnight Yukina woke up and joined him outside.

"It's snowing again," she said sadly, sitting beside him.

"I hate snow," Hiei confessed.

"Why?" she asked. He stopped himself from saying anything. Whenever it snowed he was reminded of his original "homeland" that cast him out as an infant. Yukina asked, "Hiei?"

"I just have bad memories associated with snow, and winter," he replied sadly.

She asked, "What happened?"

He asked, "Why do you care?"

She blinked, taken aback from that response. She said, "I suppose you don't have to tell me. I'm just trying to make conversation."

Hiei shifted his weight and flinched in pain. "Ah," he whispered to himself.

"Are you still in pain?" Yukina asked, "For some reason my healing powers weren't doing anything earlier."

"The fools in spirit world are trying to figure out why that is," he replied.
