Finally, we were back home.

Time had passed, and before we knew it, my mom, brother, and both of my best friends had signed up to come with us to Amestris, and relied on my upfront pay back into the military to rent them apartments while they tried to find work.

My mom wanted a more rural area than urban one, so I had put a down payment on a down payment on a small house in Resembool and acquainted her and my younger brother with Winry and Pinako. It put me at ease that I wouldn't have to worry about any crime outbreaks, and my brother had taken as many educational books with him to finish school by himself.

The friends who had come with me were Katya and Emma. Both of them had agreed to stay in my new apartment while I arranged things in Resembool, and with some money for food, they were all set. That, and I had put the Elric brothers in charge of watching them since they were staying in Central for a while anyway.

And so, having taken care of business in Resembool, I hopped on the first train I could grab a ticket on and arrived back home, in Central.

I took a deep breath, smiling at the city that I missed for so long and was finally back in.

"Home sweet home," I mumbled to myself, adjusting my grip on my suitcase and stretching out my arms a little.

My grin widened as I thought about the first person I wanted to see - who would probably be surprised to see me back so early. It had been at least a month and a half since I had left for Resembool and entrusted Ed to hold down the fort in Central. Ever since I had met him again, he was almost all I thought about, and the time apart didn't help much.

My pulse quickened when I thought about surprising him with my early return, and it made me all the more excited to pull out my map and pinpoint his hotel. I walked with a bounce in my step, my head up in the clouds. I can't wait to see him! I thought, a light blush dusting my cheeks.

And after fifteen minutes of walking at a faster pace than I realized, the hotel came into sight, and I was nearly skipping into it with a wide smile stretched across my face. It was the same hotel I had stayed at with Ed when I had first arrived back, and the elegant interior seemed like it glowed with beauty as I padded over to the front desk.

"Hello," I said cheerfully to the neat woman at the desk, placing down my military ID, "Do you know what room I can find Edward Elric in?"

The woman glanced down at my ID and smiled, "You can find him at room 59 on the third floor."

"Thanks!" I said, slipping my ID back in my jacket and hopping away to the stairs.

Every fiber of me wanted to dash up the stairs and burst through the door, but I fought to calm myself as I slowly ascended up the stairs. Thoughts fired through my head like a ricocheting bullet, and my heart pounded expectantly in my chest once I finally made it to the third floor. Following the arrows on a sign, I counted the room numbers closely until I finally found room number 59, near the end of the hall. I stopped abruptly and stood in front of the door, listening to the violent beating of my heart as I stared at the wooden door.

Taking a breath, my hand rose to knock on the door three times. I waited for a moment, and then footsteps sounded behind the door, getting closer and finally the door was opened.

Surprised golden eyes met mine, and a smile broke out over Ed's face.

"Lynette!" He exclaimed in joyful disbelief. "No way! I thought you weren't coming back for another two weeks!" I shrugged, grinning.

"I missed you too much," I said gleefully, running into his outstretched arms and hugging him tightly. I giggled into his shirt as he gave me a squeeze, burying his head into my shoulder as we stood in the doorway, locked in a warming embrace.

Ed pulled away to look me in the eyes, that beautiful grin stuck on his features. "I missed you too," He said, leaning in to touch our foreheads together. He nudged my nose with his, staring into my eyes as if he were challenging me to kiss him, and that's just what I did.

I slid my arms around his neck and kissed him enthusiastically, a tingling feeling in my chest expanding to envelope my entire body in it's comfort and passion. One of his arms found their way around my waist, and the other reached up to cup my chin and pull me closer. He smiled into the kiss, and I tugged him closer so we were pressed up against each other as we shared that sweet, intimate moment together.

Breaking the kiss, he gave me a loving look before tugging me into his room, shutting the door behind us.

Entwining his fingers in mine, he pulled me over to the couch and tugged me down to sit next to him, watching me happily.

"Welcome back," he said, leaning closer to me. "Then, you must've settled everything in Resembool?"

"Pretty much," I said, my cheeks flushing as I felt his warm breath on my cheeks, "I'll be staying here for a while, don't worry." A deep, rumbling chuckle escaped his lips and his hand moved up to caress my jaw. My heart thumped hard in my chest as he looked at me through those golden orbs, desire clear in his eyes.

"Great," his voice was breathy, and hovered right in front of me with a sexy smirk, "Now that you're back early, your friends here shouldn't be expecting you for a while."

"Don't expect too much," I warned, sliding my hand up his chest to rest on the back of his neck, "But I won't object to a little bit." Ed huffed, pulling me onto his lap and grinning.

"Well, I'm glad you're even here," he mumbled, "And I'm more than okay with this." With that, I leaned down and gingerly kissed him, getting more passionate with every passing second. After a while, I pulled away, leaving a string of saliva between me and him as he looked up at me through hazy eyes. His hand had moved down to press against the small of my back, and my hands hand tangled themselves in his flowing blonde hair.

"I love you," he murmured, and I rolled my eyes.

"I love you too," I replied, bopping my nose against his. He laughed a little, wrapping his arms around my waist and hugging me cutely. I rested my chin on top of his head, smiling to myself.

Then, a single thought ran through my head and it made me smile even wider.

I think I want to spend the rest of my life with him.

Hey guys!

*fans self* Wooo, that was a cute and slightly intense romantic chapter. Lies, not really but it felt that way to me!

Yup, so everything's all sorted out with them and now it's just them getting along! Who knew Lynette was abstinent? Well, haha, anyway, despite the sexual tension and romance, stuff will happen soon!

A new friend was introduced! Who is she? You'll meet her in the next chapter ^^ She's rad and you'll all like her I'm sure!

Now it's just a matter of me explaining their somewhat mundane lives until the fun part comes in a lot farther down the line! (hint hint, there's gonna be a sequel!)
