The first time we met...
"Just take a seat anywhere, Bella. Welcome."
Mr. Banner ushers the shy brunette everyone has been talking about into our English class. Can't tell what she looks like because her long dark hair is partially covering it.
She hesitates as she looks around for available empty seats. She takes the one right next to me but I still can't see her because she uses her hair as a shield.
Halfway through the class my pen runs out of ink. Fucking great. I ask around. Ben, Alec, Jess... no one has an extra one. I let out a frustrated sigh.
"Here you go."
Her voice is small but strong, and when I turn I see her clearly.
Brown eyes, pretty face, but not really my type. I like the blond girls.
But she seems nice enough, now that she's giving me a pen and a small smile.
"Thanks. Your name's Bella, right?" I ask, taking her pen.
She simply nods. Shy little thing.
"Well, I'm Edward. Edward Cullen."
"Bella. Bella Swan."
