Rewrite info:

This story is a mess.

I could probably write a whole chapter's worth on why I simply cannot continue this version of the story. But the main reason is:

NO BALANCE!

No balance between the game and anime elements. No balance between the game plot and my plot. No balance between the characters and their stories. No balance between the world and the world building.

As you've probably all noticed, I haven't touched this story in months– even after setting a goal of updating more. I honestly... I just don't know where to go with this story. I know what I want to do with this story, but all the previous chapters are simply making this impossible. I go to write, and I'm forcing myself to instead of enjoying what I'm writing. The characters are starting to feel bland, the plot I want to work with feels like mush. Updates are rare and random.

I've written myself into a corner.

With my last update I intended to... revitalize this fic, I suppose. I was very split on the idea of romance, so I asked you wonderful readers what you wanted. I made goals to be consistent and to handle the characters/plot better. I was going to get back into this story like when I first started it.

That just didn't work out though.

I love this story. I love the concept, but I just can't keep writing this mess I created. Elements from past chapters when my writing was meh and I had no idea for plot are now haunting what I currently want to do. I have ideas but I simply can't include them because the old chapters are just messing with what I want to write. This story has become a chore, and writing is not fun when it's a chore. I want to work on this story and enjoy it.

As you saw with the title of this chapter, I intend to restart this story from the very beginning. To start over fresh and be able to make this story what I originally wanted it to be.

This is a REWRITE, not just editing. That means there will be many differences; to the plot, world, and characters. In fact, this rewrite will be based off of a brand new Nuzlocke run as well (still version Y though)– meaning new Pokemon for Ash!

Kindle will still be Ash's starter though! I know a lot of you guys really love her character (same with me) so she will be staying– alongside Ash, Yveltal, and AZ. Obviously other characters will still be there as well, but they may have some changes.

The other big changes will be to include more of my plot rather than the game plot (it will still be loosely followed though), along with more inclusion of Team Flare earlier on (I have ideas for them that now I can include!) And of course just overall balance to the world, making it feel more real than just a place of darkness and death, while still keeping it a place of darkness and death.

This rewrite won't be up right away, I want to take some time to make sure I have the basics of the world and plot set up more in my mind/notes before I just dive right in. I want this story to be the best it can be. I will update this story one more time to let you all know once the rewrite is out.

I hope you all understand why I chose to do this, and I hope you'll all enjoy a fresh start to this idea.

Also, even though this is no longer relevant, I know a lot of you wanted to know– who won the poll from last chapter?

AshXKindle won, barely beating out no romance. But combine that with the guest reviews AshXKindle won for sure.

Will romance play a role in the rewrite? At this point the answer is no, because I just don't know if that element will fit in this rewrite.
