Chapter Nineteen:

Maxs Pov

When we finally pull up to the large, brown, three story cabin it's roughly three o'clock in the morning. Iggy lets out an exasperated sigh as he cuts the engine. I don't know how he managed to do it. Even with three cups of coffee and Handfull of energy drinks that he chugged, I still wouldn't have been able to drive the fifteen or sixteen hours that it took to get here.

"Go inside. I'm just gonna sleep out here tonight, I don't have the energy to get up."

"No Iggy, come on." I shake his arm, trying to get him to open his eyes again. "Let's go."

It takes a few shakes but he reluctantly stands and slowly exits the car, trudging through the snow, up to the porch. I think the freezing weather wakes his up a little as well because he increases his speed the longer he's outside.

Once at the steps, he waits impatiently, shivering behind Fang and Gazzy who are both carrying a sleeping Angel or Nudge, while also trying to find the keys to unlock the door. They finally get the door open and race inside.

I grab one of my duffel bags from the backseat before making my way into the cabin too. It's too late and cold to try and get all of our stuff out of the cars right now so I just grabbed one of my bags so I have something warm to wear to bed.

The living room of the house is very large, as is the kitchen, dining room and all of the other rooms I'm sure, but it's surprisingly not too fancy or sterile looking. I figured since it belonged to Nuge's family it would be so uptight to the point where you don't want to sit or touch anything but it actually feels really warm and comfy looking.

Like home.

"Nice isn't it."

I turn to see Fang behind me. "Very," I agree. "Where's everyone at?"

"Angel and Nudge are asleep in the rooms down the hall. Igg passed out in one of the rooms upstairs and Gaz is in the kitchen looking for food."

As if on cue Gazzy comes strolling into the room. "There's not a single spec of food here. We're all gonna starve. Do you hear that? That's my stomach, it's eating me alive!"

"Gazzy chill," Fang demands. "I'll drive to the store and get food."

"You mean it?"

"Only if you promise to shut the fuck up."

"Deal. I'm gonna go grab my shoes!"

He immediately races off down the hall to get his stuff on. I don't know how that boy has so much energy at three something this morning. I know I sure as hell don't; and I even took a few hours worth of naps in the car.

"You coming Max?" Fang questions.

I want to climb into bed and sleep for twelve hours but with my luck that probably wouldn't happen. I'd just lay there for hours staring at walls while my stomach grumbled all night long and would regret not going.

What the hell, might as well.

"Sure."

We head out to his Jeep and wait for Gazzy -which doesn't take very long- before heading out to find the nearest grocery store.

It took a while to find a store because the GPS couldn't function off of the bad repetition out here but walking out of the store with a few frozen pizzas, some chicken, chips, candy, brownies and three different ice creams makes up for it.

When we get back to the Cabin, I immediately start by pre-heating up the oven for the pizzas while Gazzy searches the Flat screen in the living room for movies and Fang starts making the sundaes and putting the candy and chips into big, plastic, blue bowls.

Before I know it, the pizza's are cooked and split evenly onto our three plates and we're sitting in front of the large TV watching Jurassic World, feasting on all of the food and deserts we bought. And by we I mean Fang. Gaz "lost" his debit card and my wallet is locked up in Iggy's car still with the rest of our stuff.

"Look at the raptor! It's so cute!" Gazzy exclaims, mouth full of food.

"Shh. It's four a.m., Gaz, people are sleeping!"

"Sorry." He whispers.

We sit like this for a while, eating and watching more movies, just enjoying each other's company. I will admit it's nice hanging out with these two, shoving our faces at almost five a.m.

I don't get to spend time with Gazzy often because he's either busy or hibernating in his dorm, no doubt playing video games.

But I like him.

He's funny like Iggy but a little more chill like Fang but a lot sweeter and less perverted than the both of them combined.

That's why when he brings his blanket over, spreads it over the both of us and curls up next to me I don't mind. I'm not a very cuddly person but Gazzy kinda reminds me of a little brother that I've never had so I allow it.

"What are you guys doing?"

We all jump a little, startled from the voice. In the hall stands a groggy looking Iggy, rubbing sleep from his eyes. None of us even heard him approaching which is saying a lot because Ig is the loudest person I've ever met. He pretty much can't walk ten feet without knocking something over.

"God Iggy you scared the shit out of me," Gazzy scolds him, letting go of my arm which I didn't even realize he was holding on to. "And we're watching a scary movie."

He takes another step into the room. "Is... is that food?"

I nod. "We went to the store."

Iggy runs the last few feet into the room, hops onto the couch -on the other side of Gaz- and begins shoving his face with candy and chips at the same time.

"God this is good. I was so hungry," he says around the food in his mouth. "My stomach woke me up because it was growling so loud."

"Here." I smile, handing him the remaining three pieces of pizza off my plate that I'm too full to eat. He takes the food greatfully.

After Iggy finishes eating, he climbs under the large comforter with Gazzy and I. The blanket is wide enough to fit four or five people but Iggy's six foot one height compared to my five seven and Gazzy's five ten results in the blanket being placed oddly and barely going up to our waists, so that it can cover Ig's long legs.

Luckily, with the fire place, it's pretty warm in here so we don't need to be covered completely with the blanket.

"Are you really having a slumber party without us?"

We all jump again, again scared by the lack of noise when people approach. This time in the hallway stand Nudge and Angel, or what I assume is her under the mess of blonde curly hair that consumes her face.

"Not at all," Gazzy insist. "Join the party."

"Omg are those sour patch kids?" Nudge squeals as she approaches the couch.

"Yup. Want some?" Iggy hands her the bowl.

"Yes please! I haven't had these in almost a year because of cheer. But now that the seasons over..."

She sits next to Fang, bowl in her lap. Nudge stares at it hesitantly for a second, contemplating. I've never really seen her eat candy or junk food before because of her strict diet for cheer but I see in her eyes how badly she wants them. She finally gives in a dives into the bowl before she can talk herself out of it.

Angel takes the last seat on the couch, beside me. Gazzy passes her some pizza and a few chicken nuggets and she greatfully devours them both.

I don't know how they manage to only eat salads and drink water all of the time. To me that seems so boring and I would get tired of it very quickly and give up.

"This is the best meal I've had in months," Angel smiles.

"Completely agree," Nudge chimes in.

The guys all laugh, clearly finding it amusing seeing these two girls pig out for once in their lives. I find it amusing too but more so I find it refreshing to just see them not care for once about the way people see them or their diets. They're just letting go and having fun in a cabin out in the middle of no where with their best friends, the people who actually care about them and having a good ass vacation.

The way it should be.

It doesn't take long for Angel to fall asleep again, her head propped up on my right shoulder. She's never really been good at staying up all night or functioning off just a few hours of sleep. I remember back in Arizona her, Sam and I use to hang out at Sam's house until five or six a.m. sometimes. Angel would never be able to make it past one a.m. though and when she would stay up that "late" would have to sleep in until noon to balance it out.

Ten hours is her minimum.

I've always envied her for being able to stay alsleep that long.

Nudge is the next to go, on the lap of a very uncomfortable looking Fang but he allows it because he doesn't want to wake her.

We don't notice Gazzy is asleep until the soft snores we start to hear in the parts when the movie gets quiet. His mouth hangs open like a dog with its head out of the car window.

Iggy pokes his tongue a few times but Gazzy is too deep into sleep to even budge.

We finish another movie roughly around six a.m. and by that Iggy is barely able to keep his eyes open any longer. He dozed off two or three times during the movie but popped back up right away.

"That's it, I can't do it any longer," He finally gives in, pulling the blanket up to his chest and laying his head against Gazzy's back. "Goodnight guys."

"Night Ig."

"Night bro."

"I love you guys," he says, eyes closed and sounding more than halfway already asleep.

"We love you too bud," Fang smiles, turning the TV down a bit so it doesn't disturb the four sleeping bodies.

For some reason being piled onto a big sectional couch surrounded by all of my friends just feels right. I don't feel uncomfortable or scared. I feel safe and warm and like I actually might sleep tonight without being woken up by night mares.

Lets hope.

I don't know exactly what time it is when I start to doze off. I'm guessing just around sun rise though because of the faint light I see peeking through the curtains. All I sorta remember is hearing the TV click off followed by a "Goodnight Martinez." before I gave in and let myself be consumed by sleep.
