The next morning, the two leaf ninja left the Mizukage's building and caught a boat heading towards the port Village. Nadeshiko was leaned over the rail on the boat.
"uggggh, I hate boats" she moaned out, fully prepared to barf at any moment. It clicked in Kakashi's mind why she had not asked for a boat ride. Kakashi tucked his nose in his book, not able to believe a ninja had motion sickness from a boat.
They finally made it to the village and the little girl was waiting for Nadeshiko.
"Nadeshiko-nee-chan" the little girl jumped around the pink haired ninja. "I knew he'd save you!"
"Ayaki, you need to eat something, missy!" Nadeshiko handed the little girl some money. "Make sure to spend only a little on candy, okay?" The little girl nodded and ran off.
Nadeshiko seemed to be very fond of little kids. They took a break for Nadeshiko, since her under arm was getting sore but she wouldn't have admitted that.
Kakashi went off somewhere without her while she finished her food. And when he came back they began their walk again until they arrived upon a wagon stationed near the exit of the village.
"Is this the girl?" a beefy older man asked, Kakashi nodded. The man lifted her up and set her in the back of his supply wagon.
"Noooo, I can walk I promise!"
"Hush, now little miss, we're on our way to Konoha."
In return for Kakashi's protection service the man was to allow Nadeshiko to ride on his wagon. Nadeshiko lifted some of the fabric to see what the man was supplying; some very, VERY nice quality weapons. If she were a robber she would steal some, but she was only envious that she didn't have the high quality weapons at her disposal.
The man was cheerful and whistled a tune as he led his oxen with the rope.
It wasn't long for Nadeshiko to become queasy; she tried to hold it back since it was very embarrassing for her to be in that state as a ninja. She could sense some people up ahead, they were just lurking there, probably waiting for them.
"Hatake-san, we have some people up ahead. There are four."
"Should I be worried?" the man asked.
"Not at all, when we get attacked, go full speed through them." The man nodded.
Like Nadeshiko had said, there were indeed 4 ninja's waiting for them. Nadeshiko gave the command for speed, immediately regretting it as she wanted to hurl at the bumpiness of the ride. Kakashi took out the ninja in a couple minutes tops, and met up with the wagon not too long after.
At the end of the day, Itsuko, the wagon driver, took a rest in a town. He signed himself into a traveler's tavern while Kakashi looked for a hotel for the two of them.
"I'm sorry, sir, we currently have only one bedroom left. It does have two beds, if that suits you."
This was Kakashi's third hotel the other two were completely booked.
"I'll take it." Nadeshiko was looking into a fish tank that had many different colored fish. He led her to the room on the very top floor; with every step, she wished she didn't have to rely on a crutch to get up the stairs.
When Kakashi opened the door, Nadeshiko burst into laughter. The room was a sweetheart room. The beds were made up in red sheets and roses were on a table in the room. The two beds had been recently pulled apart as they could see the indents of the bed posts in the red carpet.
Nadeshiko recovered and claimed the second bed as hers.
"Don't try to seduce me, Hatake-san" she teased. Kakashi went into the bathroom to change and came back out to see Nadeshiko was already lying in bed.
From what Kakashi had gathered; Nadeshiko was a polite person and had no interest in settling down. She seemed like so much more to him but she didn't seem to have anything to add to his initial thoughts.
He did find it strange that he hadn't seen her around the village, he thought he would recognize a pink haired person running around. Plus she was a chuunin, a great tracker at that (apparently). Why hadn't she made a reputation for herself in the village yet?
The next day, Kakashi couldn't find Nadeshiko she seemed to have disappeared without a trace which made him worry a tad. He waited in the room a bit to see if she would come back but he had begun to get antsy, right when he decided he would go out and look for her, she walked into the room with a rice cake in her mouth.
"Good Morning, Hatake-san" she greeted as she entered the room. She seemed to be getting better at maneuvering with the crutch.
"Where were you?"
"Getting food" she answered. "Oh I also told the weapon's wagon guy not to wait up."
"What?" Kakashi was shocked, she would be so slow to travel with now.
"I'd like to keep my dignity rather than puke in front of the Copy Ninja." She replied to his unasked question.
The two ninja's headed off on their adventure, Nadeshiko looked so much happier not being confined to riding in something.
"So, Hatake-san, what's your story" she asked pretty forwardly.
"Well, I'm a jounin."
"Must have taken a lot of hard work for someone so young to be a jounin already" she said. At his quietness, she continued. "I'm just a chuunin, but I'm okay with my rank. If I become a flashy jounin like you I might be too popular and get crazy nicknames." She had a joking tone. "So… " she said out loud, not really having anything in mind to say. "Do you have anything you do for fun?"
"I like to read." He didn't really understand why he felt comfortable with answering her questions, he was definitely trying to be as vague as possible.
"Let me guess, you're probably into murder mysteries, huh?" He shook his head. "Hmm, action?" another negative. "You don't seem like someone who is into fantasy… romance?" she hesitated with guessing this one, he seemed too lone wolf-like to be into romance. He shook his head again, but he was a lot slower this time, she could sense his heart beat raise a bit. "Erotica?" She received no reply this time, just a quickening heartbeat. "No way, do you read smut books?" He finally showed her the current book he was reading. "It's always the quiet ones." She finally said, she didn't seem to be disgusted by his choice of reading.
"Sometimes it's good to disappear into a world that doesn't involve ninja duties."
The two ninja finally caught up with the wagon, Nadeshiko didn't look tired yet so Kakashi didn't ask her to ride in the wagon. They greeted him and kept conversation with him until they walked ahead of him eventually.
After a while, Kakashi decided to carry Nadeshiko.
"I don't think this is a good idea, Hatake-san. What if I get sick on you?"
"I can take a shower and wash my clothes." He replied. She finally consented to riding on his back. He slipped the crutch under her as something she could sit on, while using it to support her up. She wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his torso as best as she could. She was a light weight, compared to what he imagined she would feel like on his back.
He dashed off into the woods once she settled onto his back. To her surprise she wasn't getting sick, he was very balanced and smooth when he ran. She could feel her stomach light or drop when he jumped or landed, but nothing was bumpy in his run. She held onto him and rested her head against his back.
"Are you feeling alright?" he asked, getting worried that she might throw-up on him.
"I'm just fine" she said contently.
They arrived in Konoha in no time. They went into the Hokage building and she debriefed her mission. The hokage was just glad that she had made it home safe and sound.
"Kakashi, you got home just in time to meet your new students, they're at the school.
"Thank you, Hatake-san. Good luck with the students." Kakashi left casually. It was around 5:30pm or 6pm. He wondered if the students were still waiting for him in the classroom. If they were still there, then they passed the first test, he joked to himself.
He arrived at the door, he saw the eraser in the door but he thought to amuse the students by falling for the ill designed trap. His hair gained a white powdery cover as the eraser landed on his head. A student burst out laughing while a girl was immediately trying to save her butt.
"I told him not to do it, Sensei, but he wouldn't listen."
"Bahahaha, he actually fell for it, hahahaha"
"What an idiot."
"Alright, my first impression of you guys…I hate you." He looked at his group, a boisterous blonde, a dark haired boy and a pink haired girl. "Let's go introduce ourselves" He partly wondered if the pink haired girl was related to the pink haired lady he returned with.
"I'll go first!"
Naruto apparently was a heavy ramen fanatic, there wasn't a ramen he didn't love. He wanted to become the hokage.
"My name is Haruno Sakura." The girl said next. So she must be related somehow. She seemed very infatuated with the dark haired boy. He thought it was ironic that her relative seemed disinterested with love and this girl was overly interested. Hormones…
"My name is Uchiha Sasuke." What a brooding sort, and the last Uchiha alive from Itachi's attack. He'll be interesting to see how he grows up.
Hey, sorry guys. I don't know what happened but hopefully re-uploading it fixes it
