Chapter 15 - Welcome Back
"This can't be real," Yami sighs, lying on the ground with Yuugi on top of him. "Sorry it took me so long to remember!" he giggled, his lips forming that childish smile he was well-known for.
Yami smiled, "I just thought..." Yuugi laughed, "Oh, come on! I wouldn't die that easily!" Yami shook his head, listening to Yuugi - his husband - continue to giggle. It's been so long since the man he knew as his lover had been last seen.
Yuugi asked, "Have you ever looked for me?" Yami stared at his bright violet eyes. "Amiti, I looked for as long as I could, I searched practically everywhere for you for the last sixteen years. Everyone has..." his voice trailed, giving Yuugi an idea of how much people worried about the Prince of Light going missing.
"Sakura was the one who tried the hardest."
The younger twin refocused his attention to those words. Sakura was searching for him the most?
"Yes," Yami continued. "When you tried to reveal yourself during the meeting, I thought it was you, but I made sure you were safely hidden in Yuugi's mind."
"Why, Kiroko? Tell me why?" he asked quietly.
"Because I thought that you were only there to hurt me and Sakura."
Yuugi was hurt, knowing his husband feared him so strongly. "I'm sorry, Loki," he said. "I didn't mean to scare you." He noticed that Yami had relaxed a little. "I just wanted you to know that I was still alive..."
Yami nodded, "I figured, but I wasn't too sure. You'll have to forgive me for that, Amitos." Yuugi embraced him, helping Yami to his feet. Taking a seat on the bed, Yami said, "Though, you really did have me worried. I had hurt you..." Yuugi rolled up the left sleeve, showing him the burn markings.
"You did a great job, though, in making it look good!" Yuugi laughed. Yami shook his head. "That may be true, but I hurt you because of this damned demon that's possessed me."
Yuugi suggested, "Can't you just make it disappear?"
"I don't know how to get rid of it, though," Yami despaired. "I've tried some remedies, but the bastard comes back within three days after the procedure. It's really troublesome that I can't get rid of him myself."
Violet met crimson, searching for any hope left in his eyes. "Have you told anyone else? Maybe they could-"
"No one else knows, Amitos," Yami interrupted. "You are the only one. They know what happened, but they don't know that he's still within me." Yami began to relax against the pillows and blankets laid out on the bed.
Yuugi stared at him. "But doesn't it hurt to keep this bottled up inside? To not tell another soul that this demon is still using your body as a host?"
"It does bother me, Amiti," Yami sighed irritantly. "It hurts to do this, but I don't feel like suffering the repercussions of what may come after.
Yuugi rested his head against Yami's stomach, trying to get comfortable. "You're going to have to tell someone, Loki," he sighed. "Otherwise, this demon will drag you down to Silafa with him once he is defeated."
"Or take complete possession of my soul," Yami offered quickly. "Whichever comes first, right?"
Before Yuugi could say anything else, Yami began to feel dizzy. He sat up in a rush, looking around the room, which started to go fuzzy in his sight. "Loki?" Yuugi started. "What's wrong?"
Yami felt himself losing feeling in every part of his body. Collapsing back onto the bed, he could only feel the constant beating in his head. "Amiti? Wha... What's happening to me? I feel like I've gone numb..." Yami whispers just before he loses consciousness with Yuugi trying to wake him.
"Loki! Loki!" Yuugi repeated his name over and over. He tried shaking him awake, but Yami was out like a light.
Yuugi quickly stood to his feet and grabbed Yami's cell. He searched the list of contacts for the name Luna or Sakura. Finding Sakura in his list, he dialed the number and held the phone to his ear.
"Frost residence, this is Luna speaking!" Sakura's voice responded cheerily. "Sakura?" Yuugi hesitantly replied, looking back at the unconscious male on the bed. "It's me, Yuugi."
Sakura's suspicion was subtly laced in her tone as she asked, "Yuugi? Why do you have Yami's cell?"
"Now's not the time for that!" Yuugi said quickly, nearly cutting her off. "Yami's suddenly collapsed and I have no idea why! You're the only person I know who knows Yami the best. Please come over, Sakura?"
"I'll be over as soon as I can, Yuugi, worry not," Sakura replied, hanging up when she was done. Just as he put the phone down, he turned to see the brunette standing over Yami.
"I forgot you did that," he mumbled under his breath. Sakura didn't quite catch what he had said. "What?"
"It's nothing," he lied. "So, how is he?"
Sakura glanced his way, seeing the worry in his violet eyes. "It's too soon to tell. I can tell you that he's not sick, technically speaking." Yuugi let out the breath he didn't realize he had been holding. "But I'll come back within the next 24 hours to see if anything has changed." She looks back Yami for a second. "On second thought, I'll make it 12 hours, just to be safe."
Yuugi looks at her, smiling, "I hear that you're engaged, Sakura!" he laughed, "Who's the lucky groom?"
Sakura looked at him, slightly confused, "When did you hear about this?"
"Sakura," Yuugi giggled, "It's me, Amiti!" Sakura looked at him, a toothy grin on her face. "I knew it! I freaking knew it!" He continued to laugh, listening to her rant about how Yami didn't believe her the entire time and such.
"So," Yuugi stopped her mid-rant, "Who's the man?"
"Sano Rayuno!" she replied bubbly, "You know, you and Loki's best man at your wedding!"
"And close friend, mind you!" Yuugi said in mock anger, sticking his tongue at her childishly. "In any case," she chuckled, "It's good to have you back, Amitos!" Sakura turned towards the window. "Now, I have to go meet my fiancé. We need to figure out when the wedding should be," She opened the window, mumbling, "Though I would like to prolong the engagement for as long as possible..."
With that, she took off, her white blood-stained wings marking her in the crimson sunset. Yuugi looked back to his unconscious husband, a worried look in his eyes. *I hope Loki's okay...* he thought, hoping for the best and preparing for the worst.
Sakura softly touched the concrete surface of the abandoned warehouse, her wings disappearing in white sparkles, looking left and right for her lover. "Where could he possibly be?" she wondered as the moonlight lit up the spot she stood at.
"Over here, Sura," said a cheery voice from the railing above her. The man had green hair and golden eyes. "I am Lotu Dartz," the man introduced himself playfully. "But I believe you know me as your fiancée, Miss Valentine."
Sakura looked endearingly into his eyes. "There you are, Kuryu."
