Chapter 18 - Vengeful Valentine

Valencia continued to wander around the streets of Domino City, irritable that she'd lost the trail of the albino twins. Frustrated, she throws her pistol against the wall and let out a stream of curses. Her minions reeled in shock. Valencia had fits of rage like this before, but not quite like this.

The brunette turned to them with rage and hatred in her green eyes. "Well? Don't just stand there, keep searching!" she barks, causing them to scatter. Sighing, she walks over to where her fallen pistol was, checking it for any sort of damage. They were around here somewhere in this town. But where?
-

Upon their return two hours later, the irritable woman was further enraged when they both reported that neither target was able to be found. "Damn it, why are you two so useless? Get out of my sight before I decide to shoot the both of you!"

At that simple command, both of her henchmen turned tail, running as if the devil was at their heels.

Valencia was getting so sick and tired of her people failing constantly. Seriously, they only have one job, what was so difficult about that?

She thought back to when her ex-boyfriend was in her little torture chamber. What was he playing at? Was he asking to die by provoking her like that? What was with the multiple personalities that lingered in his fragile mind? Riley in particular seemed so keen on killing her at the time, and the thought alone was terrifying, having the tables turned like that on her.

Was this just a game of cat and mouse now? If so, who's hunting who?

The female shook her head. It's too late to be thinking about that sort of thing now. It's already happened, there was no point in wondering about the past.

"I swear, the next time I get my hands on him or anyone he knows," Valencia growled under her breath. "I'll tear them apart limb from fucking limb!"

Valencia walks through the empty park for a little while before eventually stumbling upon the residence of one Seto Kaiba. One she happened to be quite familiar with. Yami was bound to be here.

She smiles and begins to make her approach to the mansion. This time, she's the hunter and he's the prey.

Yami was lying next to his lover on their bed for the evening, staring up at the stars. He wasn't sure why, but he had this nagging feeling in the back of his. Almost as if it's a warning that something's bound to happen soon.

Sitting up and glancing at the ground, he noticed movement on the streets nearby the house as a dark silhouette approached. It took him a moment to register the figure since he was half awake.

As the figure passed the streetlight, however, his eyes widened when he sees his ex-girlfriend slowly approaching the door, watching as she pulled out a pistol with a smile forming on her face.

Yami turned to the sleeping Seto and started trying to wake him. "Seto. Get up, we have a problem."

The CEO grumbled as he pushed himself to a sitting position, "What? Why aren't you asleep yet?"

"Valencia, I just saw her, I think-"

The doorbell rang loudly throughout the house, causing both of them to look in the general direction of the front door.

Seto continued to stare in that direction as Yami looked at him with worry. "Go get Mokuba and Isabelle and tell him to go hide out downstairs," he said as he quickly hurried out of bed to get dressed. "You stay with them. Last thing I want is you to get hurt."

Yami narrowed his eyes as Seto put on a pair of pants. "She's armed, I'm not gonna sit by and-"

"Yami." That one word made him stop. The brunette buttoned up his shirt before glancing over his shoulder at his boyfriend. "I'm not going down there without being prepared. I have a gun by the door in case I absolutely need to. In any case, I don't think she's going to shoot me right off the bat. Now, stop worrying about me and go get the kids." The former pharaoh laughed a bit at that; that's the last thing he imagined Kaiba saying to him in any scenario.

"Alright, fine, I'll go find them. If you're not down there in five minutes or so, I'm going to come find you, got it?" Seto turned to face him, looking annoyed.

"Absolutely not, you stay down there until I tell you otherwise."

"But what if you don't come down? Think about that while you were at it?" he inquired, a slight edge to his tone. Receiving no response to his question, Yami walks past the brunette to go get Mokuba and Isabelle.

The doorbell rings again, this time accompanied with Mokuba coming out of his room. "I'll get it!"

"Don't, your brother will get it," Yami told the raven-haired child. "Where's Isabelle? We need to go downstairs, Seto's orders."

"Oh, this again?" Mokuba sighed. "Not the first time someone's tried to kill one of us. At least they're polite so far." He glanced into his bedroom and called for Isabelle. When she comes out, he said, "Follow me, I know where to go."

"Take them down there and make sure neither of them do anything stupid," his elder brother told him as he passed by. Yami rolled his eyes at that, but chose not to argue with him. He had to make sure the kids were safe on the way down.

The former pharaoh glanced back once after Mokuba brought them to a steel door. "Here we go." The child started typing in a number code. Once that was done, he took off the necklace he was always wearing and inserted it into what looked like a card slot.

The door creaked open and Mokuba pulled Isabelle inside. Yami entered the room, holding the door open to look at the side. From the look of things, it was a one-way door. If Seto is in danger, he wouldn't be able to help him from in here.

Further examination of the room showed him weapons on the tables inside. It looked like a living room that was made in a cave, perhaps a comfortable prison cell in some aspects. At least a gun would be useful. "Yami, aren't you coming in? We can't risk having the door open like that," asked Mokuba.

He shook his head. "Just hand me a gun. I'm going up to help your brother." There was a green flash in his eyes. With a smile, he said, "Besides, me and Valencia have a score to settle."

Mokuba, not wanting to make Seto angry, considered dragging him inside, but that confident smile told him that he would be safe in his brother's hands if necessary. "Alright, hold on." He walked over to a table and picked up a black pistol, quickly bringing it over to Yami. "Here, loaded and ready to go."

Yami thanked him and stepped away from the door, letting it lock him out from where Mokuba and Isabelle were safe.

Now to go deal with his crazy ex...

"You shouldn't even be here, Yami," Seto said to him, receiving an impatient look from him.

"It's not Yami right now, it's Riley."
