Chapter 13 - Reliving the Past?
Bakura's POV
Wow... Whatever he put in those drugs of his, that is some strong shit he's got. Where the bloody hell am I anyhow? I sit up a little to take a quick glance around the room. White room with hospital beds. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I'm in the infirmary. Where's Yami? I tilt my head to the right to see him sleeping beside me. He's out like a light. Dear Ra, my head is fucking killing me. I'm just going to roll over and go back to sleep.
It's not like either of us is going anywhere anytime soon.
Normal POV
As Bakura tried to get comfortable, Yami waited until he could hear Bakura's gentle snoring so he could get up and watch the rain pour outside. Lightning flashed, thunder roared, the rain pounded into the concrete. Yami figured this storm wasn't going to pass anytime soon.
He heard Bakura quietly moan in his sleep. Either it was the effect of the drug or his little thief king wasn't a big fan of thunderstorms. Not that he was either, but Yami was a little preoccupied with a memory of his past.
It was a stormy night, eight years ago. Yami was only eight years old at the time. The young child roamed the alleys in search of his parents. They hadn't been home for a couple of weeks, so Yami decided to go hunt for them.
He managed to find them, but he showed up just as his father was shot dead, his mother catching the still warm corpse. Yami widened his crimson eyes in horror as a male with black hair took her and stripped her down. He was frozen in fear as the man raped her before shooting her as well.
He turned to flee the scene, but someone with blonde hair picked him up and pulled him into the street lights. "Look who I found, boss." he chuckled. The black haired male turned to him. Yami's blood ran cold as the man's green gaze pierced him.
"Oh?" the man mused. "It seems that we have a rat in our midst." Someone with brown hair laughed, "What should we do with him?" The brunette next to him, his hair almost red in this light, sighed, "Just kill him. We don't need witnesses. Especially this kid."
Adrenaline shot through Yami. He kicked and screamed, hoping to get free. The leader was about to aim for the boy when the blonde dropped him, shouting, "Cops!" and bolting out of there. The others saw the flashing red and blue lights and hightailed it. Yami picked up the gun he managed to successfully pull off of the blonde and ran back into the alley. He didn't want anyone to get the wrong idea about him.
He looked back at the scene one more time to see the police looking over his parents' bodies. One of them, a new cop by the looks of it, glanced his way. They looked each other in the eye for only a moment. Before the male could approach him, one of the others asked, "What are you looking at, Tsubaru?" Tsubaru looked at his collegue for a second.
"There's a kid-" he started, turning to where he spotted Yami, but discovered that he had taken off.
Bakura sat up in bed as Tsubaru walked in. "Good morning, Ceruno." Tsubaru greeted. "Morning to you, too. What happened to me?"
"You suddenly collapsed. You coughed up a lot of blood." The black-haired male shook his head. "I'm surprised you made it." The officer left for a moment to tell the guard that Bakura was awake. He wasn't too sure about Yami.
Tsubaru returned to the infirmary to see the teen standing in front of the window as it pours outside. Bakura asked him, "Yami? What are you doing up? Is something wrong?" Yami was still lost in his thoughts. When the roar of the thunder sounded, Yami turned his head to see Tsubaru standing in the doorway with concern shining in his green eyes.
"I'm sorry, did you say something?" he inquired, his crimson eyes dull with sleep. He knew that three of the four from his past were dead. Now, where was the one in charge of that little operation? The one who almost took his life?
"Is something wrong, Yami? You're acting rather odd as of late." Bakura asked, slowly getting up to see if he could still walk. He had no idea what those pills had done to his system. Pleased to see he was fine, the albino began to approach his lover.
Yami turned and pulled a gun on both of them, making sure neither came any closer to him. Little did they know that this was the same gun that he had taken from the now dead blonde that caught him eight years ago.
"Don't come any closer. I don't want to have to kill either of you."
Stunned, Bakura stopped and took a step back. "Yami?! What are you doing?!"
~A/N: Again, I'm certain this isn't making much sense to any of you, but I'll be happy to clear anything up for you.
Next Chapter: Bloodshed
Laughter came from the back of the alley. Yami turned, pushing Bakura behind him. "Well, well, if it isn't the young Kuro boy! Where've you been this whole time? We've been getting kinda lonely." A brunette appeared from the shadows. "Why don't you play with us?"
This will not make much sense to you guys, but I am always open for Q/A, 'kay? Please Review! X3
