5.) Longing
Longing was an emotion he was very familiar with. It haunted him just like his father's legacy, there was no escape.
Over the years though he got better at hiding his longing, it could only be used o hurt him if he let it show. He just grew used to living with the ache. There was nothing he could do to change it, unless he suddenly gained the ability to bring the dead back to life or could travel time.
It wouldn't be until the Enterprise returned from her five-year exploratory mission for the first time that the ache of longing he had lived with for so long had vanished.
Without even realizing he had managed to find what he had been longing for. He had found a home and family worth every drop of blood and pain it took to keep them safe.
