CHAPTER SIX
Sorry I haven't updated for a while, been busy with other things! (That sounds like a pathetic excuse, bleh! :3) I've added my own twist onto this, making Soundwave able to communicate through thoughts, reminiscent of the original G1 series (1984), and also making him... unexpected. Enjoy!
Galaxy tried to find a quiet room, away from the other Decepticons' prying eyes to warn Autobot base of the impending disaster. She reached for her comlink on the inside of her left servo, rounded the corner, and came face-to-face with Soundwave. Galaxy gasped slightly, then hardened her expression, staring defiantly up at him.
"Excuse me, you're in my way," she said softly but confidently. Soundwave just stood there, not imposingly, but enough to make Galaxy on edge. She tried to step around him, but, quick as a flash Soundwave grabbed hold of her wrist and turned it over. Galaxy tried to snatch it back but Soundwave held on tight. Galaxy's sparkbeat quickened. She began to panic, which was a lot unlike her.
"Does he know? How can he! If he suspects me of treason, then the whole mission is over. I will have failed the team... I can't let them down." she decided finally. "I'll have to kill Soundwave... I know it's harsh means, but it's imperative."
Galaxy straightened up and stared Soundwave right in the optics. He stared back, and Galaxy's processor suddenly felt strange, like she was falling...
"I know what you are," a voice inside her processor said.
Soundwave?
"Don't panic, Autobot... Galaxy." Soundwave said. "I'm not going to betray you to Megatron, or any of the others. I admire your courage. You never really see courage like this in any Decepticon. And that's why I'll keep your secret," he reassured her.
"I... How can I ever repay you? This means so much to me!" Galaxy rushed. She felt Soundwave smile, somehow in her mind.
"Don't worry about repayment," Soundwave replied. His voice was deep, cool, and calming. Galaxy enjoyed listening to it.
"But when it comes to another battle between us! I can't let the other Autobots hurt you. You've been so kind, helpful. I-"
"Wars will be wars. Your side will fight ours, and our side will fight yours. It's just the way it goes," Soundwave sighed. "But for now, keep up your cover. Do your job for your cause."
"Thank you, Soundwave. I hope to repay you someday, somehow. You know... I never expected you to be like this. I..." Galaxy trailed off, unsure of how to word her feelings.
Soundwave chuckled slightly. "You're a good fighter, and have a strong spark. I hope that someday after the wars are all over, and we live to tell the tale, we can be friends again." He released Galaxy's arm, and she stepped back slightly. She felt his thoughts disconnect from her processor, and she nodded to him and walked away, Decepticon Zenith once more.
