Tetsuaiga & the Demon Lord

Chapter 11

"That impudent child, she gave me a useless sword," the merchant said.

"My lord will not be happy about this… this sword doesn't even cut paper," he said again.

The merchant packed up his store and hauled it onto the back of a horse drawn wooden carriage.

"I shall meet the lord at the Eastern borders," he said tossing my mother's bow and arrows into the back of his carriage.

He sheathed the sword and pulled it to his back.

"Cold," Kikyko said mumbling. She rolled over and clung on to me.

I sighed deeply and narrowed my eyes at her. She's completely useless.

"Get off!" I mumbled quietly to her trying to pry her hands off my shirt.

"Cold," she said again and wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Grrrr…." I said and forcefully pulled her from me. She rolled onto her back and then rolled over towards dad.

"She's so dumb sometimes," I said and rolled to my side. I looked over at the crates we had in the corner of the room. Mom and dad always hid their weapons behind wooden crates full of clothes and stuff.

I shifted myself from under the blanket and crawled over to the crates.

I looked back at mom and dad as they slept.

I crawled over to behind one of the crates. It was moved.

"Huh? Where is dads Tetsuaiga and moms bow?" I said to myself. I looked at Kikyko.

"She better not have taken them somewhere…" I said to myself.

"My Lord," the merchant said as he pulled the reins of his stead.

The Lord turned to him.

"I brought you a very powerful weapon," He said jumping down from his cart and bowing to the Lord. He held the Tetusaiga out to him.

"The Tetusaiga," he said reaching for the weapon.

"How did you obtain such a demonic weapon?" he said to him. Before he could take the weapon a powerful force field repelled him.

"A child brought it to me…." The merchant said surprised the weapon repelled the Lord.

"It is useless, I cannot wield such a demonic sword…" he said frustrated.

"Bring the weapon, I will take it to a sword smith who can release it from its demonic power and I Lord Takemaru will wield the most powerful weapon in the entire land…" He said waving his hand to the merchant.

"Aye my Lord, where shall we journey?" he man said and sheathed the sword.

"To the Western Lands," he said to him.

"Aye Lord Takemaru, I shall accompany you…" the merchant said climbing to his wagon.

Dawn…

"Inuko!" I heard Kikyko's voice again.

"W-whhhattt…." I stretched my arms.

"Mom and dad aren't home," she said looking at me.

"What do you mean they aren't home?" I half shouted at her and sat up.

I looked around the room. Yeah they weren't home. I wonder where they had gone, they never leave and leave us home alone.

"I'm sure Kagome, I picked up the scent… I felt the Tetsusaiga's aura in the village," dad's voice said from outside.

Kikyko head him talk and ran to the wood oven and hid beside it.

"Well are you sure you didn't just put it in a different place?" Sango's voice asked him as well.

I looked to the door and then to Kikyko.

"What did you do?" I said to her. She looked at me and said nothing.

"Kiki, you know dad can't be parted from his sword… it could be dangerous if he's parted from it for too long," I said crawling towards her.

"Papa will hate me, he'll get rid of me…" she said nervously.

"Kiki…. Tell me what you did with mom and dad's weapons," I said to her and crossed my arms.

She plopped to the ground and started to cry.

"You know InuYasha can't be parted from his sword for too long," Miroku's voice said from outside the door as well.

I sighed deeply and went to the door. I leaned against the door listening to their conversation.

"Yo," dad said noticing me by the door.

"Uhh," I said nervous.

"Have you seen my sword and your mothers bow and arrows?" father asked me sternly.

"Uh no father why would I see them…." I said nervous.

"Inuko! What are you hiding?" mother said as well in a stern loud voice.

"Uhh nothing…. Why do you ask?" I said to her again my voice must have given it away. I was nervous and scared of my parents. They looked angry.

"KIKYKO COME OUT HERE!" father shouted for her. I turned my head and looked to the wooden stove. She wasn't there.

"Uh dad," I said nervous.

"What do you mean she took them?" father said as he and Miroku ran through the village.

"She didn't say it outright but I had a feeling she was the one who took them last night… she said she went outside to pee and came back to bed," I said trying to keep up to father.

"And you couldn't wake us and tell us?" father said agitated. He grabbed me and pulled me to his back and darted through the village.

"InuYasha can you pick up her scent?" Miroku asked keeping up pace.

Father slide against the ground. "No, her scent ends here….." he said sniffing the air.

"I'm sorry dad I didn't tell you," I said jumping off my dad's back.

"Your both in a heap of trouble right now, just wait until I find her…." Father said again and sniffed the air.

"InuYasha, don't punish her when you find her. She must have heard our conversation and came out looking for the Tetsusaiga," Miroku said to him.

"Where could she have gone, her scent ends here…" father said looking around at all the merchants and shops.
