AN: So guess who just read The Mystery Knight? That's right, me! These drabbles are the result of my inner fangirl being set loose on these character. XD
How many eyes has Bloodraven? A thousand eyes, and one.
Every time she heard the saying, it was accompanied with tones if fear, admiration or a mixture of the two. She understood why smallfolk and lords alike would have such feelings regarding Brynden but what they didn't understand was her small, secret smile every time it was said.
Some took this to mean Shiera had taken the Hand to bed, others assumed sorcery was involved.
Only Shiera knew the real reason. And she smiled, because she knew that while Brynden may have thousands of eyes, one was only for her.
It was on a warm evening as he lay on her bed silks, watching her pale strands slip through his fingers that Brynden confessed he didn't care much for the colours red and black. Too dramatic they were, in his opinion. And while Shiera made no object to that, she was forced to glare at him when he said that white or silver wasn't particularly striking to him either.
When questioned as to what colours he did prefer, Shiera was surprised when he gazed at her face a moment and said "I can't seem to decide between green and blue."
Raven's teeth they called his men, and truer words were never spoken. After the Redgrass Field, Brynden had come to her even more beautiful than before, and that was when she had made her decision.
A Targaryen's dreams meant much and more, and sometimes they didn't mean anything. Well versed in the arts from a young age, Shiera had learnt to tell the difference between the two. And now was the time to make it a reality. Because a hundred years from now, she would be gone but a raven will live on.
Amid the long awaited winter to come.
End Note: as you can see, time has done nothing to my love of Bloodraven/Shiera, except maybe strengthen it. Also, a new game has started on Westerosorting (on LiveJournal) so I'd like to take this moment to wish all competing Houses the best OF luck. HEAR US ROAR!
