It was a beautiful winter night, complete with a soothing zephyr that tickled the calmness of the night air. Its blissful peace was displayed perfectly as the full moon's brilliant glow reflected off the rolling waves of the ocean.
At this time, most people were asleep. Unfortunately for one person, he was too busy being mesmerized to even care. It wasn't the ocean wave of the beach they camped at, nor was it the beautiful glow of the moon. But it was who the moons glow was shining upon. The young Beyblade Champion, Tyson Granger, couldn't help but smile as he watched the shine of the moon reflecting on the ivory face of their only female teammate, making her face even more breathtaking.
Speaking of which…
'Breathe Tyson, breathe!' Tyson thought to himself as he took a huge breath and replaced it with a content sigh. His contentment was soon replaced with a thought he have been trying to complete for days now.
'What am I going to do? Valentines Day is tomorrow and I have nothing planned yet.' Tyson cursed, changing his position in his futon in order to gaze upward at the interstellar wonder.
"There a small town nearby. I heard there's some big park over there. But what's a park…" Tyson pondered, as he ruffled in his pocket, pulled out several small objects.
'Hehehehe, I got it! Tyson Granger, you're a genius!' Tyson praised himself as his smile turn into a huge grin and decided to commence the plan as early as he can tomorrow and fell asleep.
Tyson and company woke up to the cool crisp morning air as they got ready to perform their daily morning rituals. As they got ready, Ray, the wisest of the group decided that now was the best time to warn Max about the incoming terror that was about to befall the group. Ray grabbed Max by the arm and pulled him away from earshot of Tyson and Hilary.
"Hey Ray! What's going on?" Max whined as Ray let go of his arm.
"Max, there is something you should know about today" He expressed in a serious tone.
"You know how Tyson and Hilary basically fight all the time, as it is a way to show how much they care for each other right?"
Max's attention was now fully focused "Sure, what else is new."
"Well, today's Valentines day. Hilary would be expecting a move, and I doubt Tyson's gonna be dishing it. That's just gonna earn him her ire, because you know…women. So I am anticipating an epic bicker."
"Yeah, that's a possibility," Max agreed. "Let's do our best to ignore them okay. If a fight breaks out, you stick by Tyson, and I'll stick by Hilary."
"Got it!" Ray nodded.
Ray and Max headed back to the camp and resumed their breakfast. Breakfast for them was quiet, a bit too quiet for everyone. Everyone was eating their oatmeal peacefully, however what was flummoxing that, Tyson was eating slower and quieter than the rest. In his mind, he was tweaking the final touches of the plan he had plotted last night.
Hilary stole a quick glance at Tyson, as he was still in the processes of planning. Hilary squinted her eyes a bit so she can get a really good look at his face. After a few moments, her spoon dropped from her hand as a look of pure horror overrode her face.
Everyone noticed this look and was immediately worried. What could possibly scare Hilary?
"Hilary, what is the matter?" Kenny asked worriedly.
"Oh no!" was Hilary's only reply as her hands held Tyson's shoulders and gently spun him around so that he was looking her in the eye.
"This can't be happening! Tyson, what's gotten into you? You didn't say a word since morning!" the boys' faces faulted into a fit of massive laughter. Kai could manage a smirk. Tyson for one, wasn't impressive, nor pleased with Hilary's humor.
"That was so not funny Hil" Tyson scowled angrily as he gave off a glare.
"Then why is everyone laughing" She quipped simply, as the boy's face burned redder.
"That's because you are the team's clown!" Tyson bit, getting up to clean his bowl.
"What?" Hilary's eyes turned eerily demonic, and her fangs bared.
"Uhoh…it's starting," Max whispered in Ray's face.
After everyone was done with their breakfast that was ruined thanks to a little squabble, they finished packing and started heading down the woods. After a few hours of walking, they came by a fork in the road, one lead to the downtown, the other lead to the small town Tyson had mentioned.
"So what are we supposed to do now?" Max pursed his lips, switching his gaze between the two divergence.
"Well, let's weight our options. That way's the downtown," Ray pointed to the right, "But that it'll take us four hours to get there. And we still don't have a reliable exit out of these woods. This way on the other hand," he directed his hand to the left, "will take us to Tanbu Town which can be covered in less than an hour. We can get ourselves a cottage for tonight there."
"That's a great idea!" Kenny marvelled, "The town's got boat rides, waterfalls, and lakes! Not to forget the pad thai we can get!"
"Don't forget sexy samurais!" Dizzi beeped.
"Tyson, why don't we go to Tanbu and ease off for today. We'll go to the downtown tomorrow," Hilary requested sweetly.
Everyone sighed. They were expecting a disagreement from their most stubborn teammate.
"Well, I am already sold on pad thai!" Tyson pumped his fist, "Let's go to Tanbu! That's a great plan, Hil!"
"TYSON! WHY DO WE ALWAYS….WAIT!" Hilary stopped abruptly as everything froze in place. Ray and Max looked at each other, than gave a puzzlingly gazed towards Tyson. Hilary's heart nearly stopped as her mind already froze trying to comprehend what just happened.
"Tyson? You aren't yourself today" Ray asked as he put his hand on Tyson's forehead.
Tyson swatted the hand playfully and gave a huge way-too-sweet smile. "What's the cut, man?"
"Because you just agreed with Hilary." Max retorted.
"Yeah! I was a baby since he last did that!" Dizzi quipped.
"Come on! It's not a flashing moment if I agree one or two with her you know!" Tyson puffed a cheek, trying really hard to trail off that with a straight face. Looking at Hilary, he could tell that his plan was working.
"OK, now I know something's wrong with this picture! Who are you and what have you done with Tyson?" Hilary barked, recovering from her shock.
"See, that's why I lead!" Tyson frowned, crossing his arms. "Like I committed a crime agreeing with you."
Everyone including Kai was officially stupefied. Why in Tyson's mind (feeble mind in Hilary's opinion) would he be acting this way? Agreeing with Hilary was scary enough.
"For you, yes, it is wrong. VERY wrong." Hilary retorted. Hilary took a second to think, and then a sly grin appeared on her face. "Ohhhhh, now I get it! You think you are so smart don't you Tyson Granger!" Hilary snickered.
'Crud, how on earth could she have figured it out THAT fast?' Tyson eyes flashed, as he took a big gulp preparing for the worst.
"You are trying to use reverse psychology so you would make me think otherwise and go to the downtown instead! Close, but no cigar Granger!" she chortled with a sense of victory in her voice.
"Oh darn! You got me Hilary, but since I did technically (he took a second to say that word) say that we go your way, lead that way Hil." Tyson conceded, but added hidden sarcasm which no one else caught.
"Uhhhh…okay?" Hilary stammered questionably, but just ignored it and kept going.
'Whew, that was a close one' Tyson sweatdropped before following the bratty brunette. 'Hehehe…close, but no cigar Hilary' Tyson added in his thought before following his friends, grinning ear to ear.
Tyson and company has finally reached the small town of Tanbu. The town wasn't very big, but it was still big enough to have some luxuries such as a cottages, a small park, and some decent store's to shop at. Getting themselves a cottage in the reserved town was no big challenge. The town was low on visitors during the period of the year. After setting up, a few members headed out to explore the town.
"So what's the first thing we gonna take a swing at?" Ray opened the conversation, studying the town map. "Wanna check out the museums or the Temples?"
"(yawns) If I had any desire to be blindsided by a Tengu with a kendo, no thanks, I already got someone at home for that," Tyson grimaced, but his spirits was lifted when a restaurant came in view. "Hey look!" Tyson's buoyantly pointed a finger, letting others chuckle at his greed for food. "A restaurant! I bet they serve Mu Yang there! My treat, come on!" he persuaded Hilary by dragging her arm.
"Tyson, why are you being so nice today?" Hilary whined, still trying to figure out what he is up to.
"Gee Hilary, I thought you would be the last person on earth forgetting what today is, considering that it is one of your favorites." Tyson hinted with a sly grin.
"Oh yeah, no wonder your being so nice today, in that case, that makes it TEN times worse." Hilary commented eyeing him suspiciously.
"Oh I see, I WAS going to treat you for a nice lunch, but seeing that it is my least favorite holiday…" Tyson left the sentence hanging as he released Hilary's hand and started walking ahead of everyone.
"Wait Tyson! I take it back!" Hilary yelled while trying to catch up with the fleeting teen.
"Wow, I never thought that Tyson could be so thoughtful, especially when it comes to Hilary." Max commented. He looked at Ray only to notice him in deep thought. "Hey Ray, What wrong?"
"Hmmmm…I don't buy it, I know Tyson is up to something. Tyson is never this polite to her unless he either wants a favor, or is planning something." Ray thought out aloud. "Let's you and me pry it out of Tyson when we are done with lunch."
"Sure, okay." Max nodded as he was still confused as to what was going on
During lunch, Tyson was doing everything to impress Hilary. From pulling up her chair for her to complimented her on her looks. They both sat at one table while Ray and Max sat at an adjacent table watching everything that was happening. Kenny and Kai remained back at the cottage. The two watched as they were chatting and eating as if they were on a date or something. After lunch, the gang headed out to explore the rest of town since they were staying for the night.
"Say Hilary, can we borrow Tyson for a minute while you go ahead? We just want to talk man to man with him." Ray requested as he pulled Tyson back putting him in a playful headlock.
"Sure, I won't be long." She replied as she went ahead to check out a fashion store.
"So…" Tyson started. "What do ya want to talk about?"
"Okay, you aren't fooling anyone. Spill it!" Ray demanded, with a snort.
"Well…It isn't much really. Maybe you can help out" Max cooed.
Nerved, Tyson revealed all of his plot to his two friends.
"So? What do you think of it?"
"Well, I got to admit; you are doing a good job so far. It is not too bad of a plan either. It might just work. No wonder you didn't start a fight yet." Ray complimented while he nodded in approval.
"Well, I think it is utterly pointless, what do you gain from all of this?" Max said still confused about the whole thing.
"Look at it this way Max, I get to not only prove Hilary wrong about me, but-"
"Hey guys, I am back!" Hilary interrupted while lugging some bags.
"Hey Hilary!" Tyson started. "Say Hil, do you want take a walk through the park later on tonight, I hear that they have a nice view of the lake."
"I would love to!" Hilary beamed with sparkles in her eyes 'man, why doesn't he do this more often!'
After a few more hours of touring the town, it was getting close to nightfall, so everyone decided to head back to the cottage and start setting up for the night. After they finished, Tyson decided to start his plan and get it over with.
"Hey Hilary, you ready?" Tyson offered, waiting under the porch of their cottage.
"Yeah, lets go, I heard they have the most romantic setting for Valentines Day." Hilary chimed with a dreamy look in her eyes.
Hilary, being the eager romantic went ahead of Tyson to go to the park. Tyson gave Ray and Max a knowing wink indicating them to start their part of the plan and ran after Hilary to catch up. Ray and Max followed after them, but stayed far enough so that they wouldn't notice, as they commenced their part of the plan, Ray was struck immediately as he just realized something about the plan that Tyson forgot about, but decided to go with it anyway.
About an hour and a half later, after Tyson and Hilary finished checking out the sights, they decided to finish off the night by settling down on a bench that had a nice view of the lake. It was a clear night just like it was last night; even Tyson had to admit that the sight was breath taking. They sat down and took a good look at the view and couldn't help but sit in silence as they were enjoying each other's company. She took his right arm and slid it over her shoulder, leaning her head on his shoulder.
Tyson's POV
Gotta admit! It went all smoothly. Anyway, she's most comfortable around me, and now she kinda enjoys it. Oh look, she's spaced out. Wonder what's she's thinkin about? Did she like it today? I can't help but feel nervous for some reason. Man, she's got her head on my shoulder. Why am I not retaliating? Why am I liking it instead? Maybe I am getting sick or something. I never noticed how nice her hair smelled, or how soft her skin was. All of those stupid romance books that Hilary reads are actually making more sense. I nearly gagged when I first read them, but I guess I can understand where they come from with this stuff. Moving on, I am starting to feel very awkward about this whole "touchy, feely closeness" stuff, so I am gonna get this whole thing over with as soon as possible before I gag to death.
Hilary's POV
He's tried so hard to make this day perfect for me. For the first time, I have witnessed his gentleman side. He treated me to a nice lunch, talked to me everything he hated, and even brought me to this enchanted park. Why can't he be more like this everyday. Double check, it isn't my birthday. I still don't know why he's being so adorable, but this side of his has kinda rubbed me. It feels like…like we are on a date. I always dreamt of this but not for years to come. But how great it would be…if we got together. Oh look, he's all red! Hhaha…he knows what he's doing..
They stayed like this for a few minutes.
"Hilary?"
"Yeah?"
"I…just wanted to say that today was…nice." he sounded pretty nervous, but hinted like he wanted to say something else.
"Yeah, it was. Thanks for today, Tyson."
"No prob Hil." She loved it when he addressed her that!
"Ummm…H-Hilary?" He started off with a stutter.
"Yes Tyson?"
"I-I was w-wondering I-if you would…honormewithakisstonight." He sped with the request.
"What did you say?" she leaned forward.
"Can you honor me with a…k-kiss tonight?" he repeated once more.
Hilary was shocked beyond core. He was asking for a KISS?
"W-What did you just say?" she asked again trying her hardest to not to back flips.
"I asked if you would honor me with a kiss tonight." He exhaled again sounding a bit agitated from asking the same embarrassing question again.
"Oh, ummm…s-sure!" she replied, her soul dancing inside her body.
She moved her head a little bit so there wouldn't be any obstacle while kissing. She gazed in his eyes and then a second later closed them. She couldn't afford to fluster anymore by meeting his gaze. With her eyes shit, she leaned in for the kiss. They touched, and the tasted the savoury moment. This kiss wasn't the one either of them would forget. Their hearts warmed as the kiss got steamier. She had no idea he tasted so good. She wasn't smelling any of those snacks that went inside him today. Maybe he was prepared.
A split second later, she felt something enter her mouth. She moaned into the kiss, as that thing snaked into the insides of her mouth. It tangled with her tongue, filling them with a taste of chocolate. Wait Chocoloate? Two seconds later, she heard a forced giggle, that seemed to have suppressed for long. She snapped her eyes open.
Her face paled when she found her lips latched to his forefingers and Tyson was grinning with the menacing smile. Hilary shrieked, whipping back and immediately gagging out a brown, tear drop Hershey's kisses. Rage filled her veins. Tyson had roped her again in one of his pranks.
"EXPLAIN YOURSELF TYSON GRANGER?" she roared, fists balling.
Moments before the disaster,
"Hilary?" Tyson decided to initiate something to grease his plan.
"Yeah?"
"I…just wanted to say that today was…nice." No matter how he went about it, he was still nervous about her reaction.
"Yeah, it was. Thanks for today, Tyson."
"No prob Hil." He liked calling her that! Only he could call her that.
"Ummm…H-Hilary?" That was it, the final phase of the plan, it is now or never!
"Yes Tyson?" This is harder than he thought!
"I-I was w-wondering I-if you would…honormewithakisstonight." he was way too nervous at this point to say it right, no matter how he said it, it was still embarrassing.
"What did you say?"
"Can you honor me with a…k-kiss tonight?" he repeated.
She looked really surprised, even he felt surprised that he actually said that.
"W-What did you just say?"
. "I asked if you would honor me with a kiss tonight." I repeated once more, annoyingly.
"Oh, ummm…s-sure!"
Even though he was hoping she would say yes, he was still very shocked that she did. He was excited that his plan was going to work, but another part of him was excited for another reason. Wait…he thought, "the plan is the only reason, no other reason, no way!"
As she leaned in for the kiss, he leaned in too to make it look convincing. As she closed her eyes, he secretly thanked the heavens for making this all too easy. But something weird triggered, his lips started to extend themselves as well! Talk about strange! He had to do it now or his lips would fail him. He carefully took out the surprise and carefully tucked it in his fore finger and curved his fingers to make it seem like lips and pressed it against hers. When it made contact, he felt the strangest shock, like being zapped or something. Anyway, he finally did it! Operation: romancing revenge has been accomplished! She opened her eyes then spit out the 'kiss' he gave her, laughing uncontrollably.
"EXPLAIN YOURSELF TYSON GRANGER?" he evaded a fist.
Normal POV
"Oh my goodness, you should have seen the look on your face, it was priceless! Come on Hilary, did you think I was really going to kiss you? Especially after the April Fools day prank you pulled on me?"
"That wasn't a prank, Tyson! I had no idea that the asparagus in your salad had gone bad!" Hilary barked. "I stopped you from eating it because it could have caused you diarrhoea! And this is how you repay me back!"
"Come on! Admit it! It was pretty funny! Besides, I did treat you nicely, and this is the thanks I get? I even gave you a kiss, which is probably the only you would get with that attitude." He replied being just as hostile.
Hilary then started to show a mischievous grin that freaked Tyson out a bit. "Well, I guess you are right about that, allow me to thank you…" she growled in a very evil/seductive voice.
Tyson made a dash but Hilary caught him by the collar than spun him around so that he was facing her. She leaned in and started to close her eyes. Tyson was shocked, but couldn't help himself being drawn in to her and closed his eyes, their faces were two inches apart and closing in, then suddenly-
POW!
Tyson opening his eyes only to realize that he was flying upwards thanks to Hilary's uppercut. It was an impressive 30 feet until he started to fall back down. While falling he heard Hilary yell "THAT WAS FOR TRICKING ME AND THIS IS FOR BEING A BIG, IMMATURE JERK! Right after he heard that-
BANG!
Was the earth-shattering force that he felt, tasting the all too familiar pain of Hilary's fist. Soared across the lake, he found himself dangling by a branch. Satisfied, Hilary smirked proudly before stomping away.
"For a moment…on both counts…I actually wanted to kiss her…" Tyson droned.
