Chapter 2
Vexen POV
Yesterday was the worst day of my life. I had just confessed my love to my best friend Marluxia and he rejected me. It's only Tuesday, but I know that I'm not going to school today. I couldn't bare seeing Marluxia without being able to talk to him, hug him, kiss him, and everything else I want to do to him. I can hear a knock at my bedroom door along with my mother's voice. "Honey, are you almost ready for school, the bus will be here shortly." "Actually, I'm not feeling that great today. Can I stay home and rest?" I ask from my bed while still in my pajamas. "Of course hon, rest for right now and call me if you need anything." she replies and silently walks away.
Marluxia POV
I can't believe what happened, my best friend Vexen who I know is gay had just confessed to me yesterday, he even kissed me. Now here I am in homeroom waiting for him even though it goes against what I actually want to do. Vexen still hasn't shown up yet and I'm starting to wonder where he is. Just then I feel someone tap my shoulder and look over to see my other good friends Leon and Cloud. "Hey Marluxia, ya coming? Class is going to start soon." I nodded as I got up from my desk and followed my friends out of the classroom. "Hey guys, can I ask you something?" Both Leon and Cloud turned to face me. "Sure dude ask away." said Leon as he held onto Cloud's hand.
"How did you guys know...about what you were to each other?" They both stopped where they stood at this and turned around to face me once again. "Are you asking us when we knew we loved each other?" This time Cloud was the one to ask the question and I shyly nodded, avoiding eye contact with my two friends. They both got sly expressions on their faces and side-eyed one another before pulling me into the closest boy's restroom and locking the door. "Who is it?" They both asked at the same time, both eager to get an answer out of me.
"Woah, woah, woah, I never said that there was anyone and even if there was I wouldn't tell you guys!" I said defensively, probably blushing as well. "So there is someone, right?" asked Leon with a very smug look on his face which I avoided as I told him to shut up. "Ha! I knew you were denying your gayness!" said Cloud excitedly. "I have not!" "Who is he? Is it Zack, or maybe Reno? Don't think I don't see you checking him out when Axel isn't looking."
"Shut up! I do not like Zack or Reno!" I yelled now getting really annoyed. "Alright, alright we'll stop." said Leon finally relenting on the endless questions. "Thank you." I said taking a breath of relief, until Cloud perked up. "Unlessss...you might have a crush on Vexen." My eyes widened in shock. 'Shit! How did he figure it out it's Vex?' I thought to myself. My lack of talking obviously gave something away as Leon and his boyfriend started laughing. "Oh my gosh, how long?" asked Cloud excitedly. "Not long, although you have it mixed up. I'm not the one that likes Vexen. Vexen's the one that likes me."
They were both obviously confused and so I explained everything that happened after school from Vexen confessing to me leaving him standing behind the school. "And that's how it happened, now I don't know what to think. Should I go apologize or should I leave him alone for a few days?" "You should never leave someone alone after they've been rejected, especially if their your best friend! He'll think you hate him and that will just make him feel worse! You have to explain why you rejected him and apologize!" scolded Leon as he held me by my shoulders and shook me. "Let me tell you, when Cloud confessed to me I was scared of what would happen and what my family would think of me, so I avoided him and I regret that every day of my life because I made Cloud think he wasn't worthy of love. He was so sad and never wanted anything to do with me! You're my friend and I'm not gonna let you do that to your best friend, so get the hell out of here and go see Vexen!"
I only nodded as I unlocked the restroom door and ran down the empty hallway. I had left through the front office saying how it was an emergency and that I needed to leave school right at that moment. Thankfully I was allowed to leave and ran out the front door and out the school gate to go see Vexen.
