Log 1: Country Club Excursion

Night blanketed the secluded rural landscape of Japan, a serene home to nature and its bounty. Birds cooed sleepily in their nests, the stars shone brightly against the canvas of the sky, and a nondescript building concealed itself amongst the lush foliage.

The Phantom Task base had been hidden on these grounds for years, darkness festering in the heart of nature's tranquility. But tonight, that tranquility was about to be shattered.

Ichika Orimura, clad in his custom-built suit, steeled himself as he reached the poorly lit perimeter of the base. An air of determination and vengeance filled his blood-red eyes, concealed beneath a black balaclava. [1]

His once kind and gentle demeanor had been replaced with cold, unyielding determination. He recalled the brutal attack on his extended family, his world shattered as the hired killers left only him and his older cousin, the brunette, blue-eyed samurai heiress Houki Shinomono, alive. Ichika was now presumed dead by the world in the aftermath of the brutal attack, while Houki's already fragile mind had been shattered by the gruesome events of the massacre in Puerto Rico.

In his quest for vengeance against Phantom Task, the evil organization that had taken everything from him by murdering almost his entire family, Ichika had become a ruthless vigilante. No low-life criminal, corrupt executive or terrorist was safe from his newfound wrath.

"Five targets in sight," a soft, seductive voice whispered in his ear through the comlink in his headset. It was Tatenashi Sarashiki, a contact in the underworld he had made after his transformation into an emissary of vengeance. She was observing the whole thing from afar from the safety of her stronghold via a series of commandeered cameras, a testament to her skill with programs and code A master hacker and skilled swordswoman, the blue-haired, red-eyed young woman's teasing nature reminded the black-haired youth of his beloved Chifuyu-nee-san's best friend, his eccentric and somewhat strange but kind and loving older cousin, the bubbly punkette mad scientist Tabane Shinomono. [2]

"Understood," Ichika replied, his voice low and gravelly. With a flick of his wrist, an assortment of throwing knives slid out from his sleeves. As skilled in stealth and combat as the wind, he silently ambushed his foes, taking them out one by one.

He scanned his surroundings, ensuring that no enemy would be alerted to his presence. His once innocent eyes now bore the mark of a man hardened by tragedy and driven by a sole purpose - to mete out justice to the wicked and unrepentant. His breath was steady and calm, his mind focused as he prepared to unleash his vengeance upon the unsuspecting terrorists. [3]

So began Ichika's gruesome tirade against the organization responsible for his tragedy.

As he entered the labyrinthine halls of the base, his fluid movements remained in shadow, blending seamlessly with the darkness. Every breath he took was synchronized with the gusts of wind sneaking through cracks and gaps from outside. The black-haired, red-eyed youth crept through the shadows, a frightening specter, clad in his customized black suit of armor with his lethal weapons at the ready.

Proceeding to continue his infiltration of the base, his hands danced with deadly precision, taking down enemies in swift, brutal ways they never saw coming. With each defeated foe, Ichika moved like a specter through the halls, driven by a relentless pursuit of vengeance.

The further he delved into the facility, the more secrets he uncovered - blueprints of advanced weapons, spare parts of IS units, and copious amounts of ammunition. Ichika's heart raced as he realized the sheer magnitude of Phantom Task's nefarious plans.

The base seemed to house enough ordnance to supply a small insurgency or militia group. To make matters worse, a large amount of the arms, IS and IS parts stockpiled in the base seemed to be made by Dunois Enterprises, whom Ichika knew vaguely through news articles as well as a distant personal source. His crimson eyes narrowed, his heart aching at the thought of his cherished Charlotte Dunois, the blonde-haired, blue-eyed first year at the IS Academy whom he had personally rescued from her cruel father's depraved clutches, being involved with such evil. But Charlotte remained pure, and Ichika would save her from her father's atrocities. This was his crusade.

Room by room, Ichika dismantled the heart of the base. His weaponry, skillfully crafted by what he had been able to take from his older cousin Tabane and spare IS technology, left a trail of fallen enemies in his wake.

Explosions from detonating grenades echoed through the halls, and the smell of sulfur and blood filled the air. Ichika was the instrument by which the shadows were purged.

The control center of the base hummed with anticipation, unaware of the calamity creeping through the corridors. Ichika threw a handful of mysteriously blinking devices into the chamber; they clung to the walls like arachnids as he leaped in. The lights in the room flashed wildly before plunging into darkness, the occupants staggering through the chaos.

But the pitch-black darkness was where Ichika thrived. He pulverized his foe, both skilled and brutal. The center was turned into a bloodbath in mere minutes, but the Punisher would allow none to escape.

He gathered the coveted items - maps, blueprints, and intel - along with a host of devices and ammunition to aid his quest. He paused a moment to observe the base's contraband; a large stash of narcotics, forbidden substances hidden behind an unsuspecting facade.

With a touch of a button, the building went up in flames, a roaring inferno lighting up the once peaceful, quiet night.

Halfway across the country, Chifuyu Orimura and Tabane Shinomono stood amidst a similarly gruesome scene. A once-thriving gang of criminals had been eradicated by a violent whirlwind of fury and skill, leaving behind only wreckage and mangled bodies. The two women were investigating the crime scene with the local police and were disturbed by what they had seen.

Chifuyu, ever the stoic figure, was troubled by the fact that the attacker had used the signature Orimura/Shinomono kenjutsu sword style. She carefully examined the carnage, her red eyes narrowed in deep thought. [4]

Tabane, on the other hand, found herself excited by the ingenuity of the assailant. Her purple eyes gleamed as she noticed the modified gadgets and equipment taken from the IS Academy. Though she tried to keep her scientist's curiosity in check, she couldn't help but marvel at the creativity and ruthless efficiency of the attacker.

Chifuyu furrowed her brow, disturbed by the attacker's utilization of her family's treasured sword style and ninja techniques. Tabane, meanwhile, recognized her own creations twisted and repurposed amongst the wreckage.

The two women exchanged a knowing glance, each resisting the fragile hope that began to blossom in their hearts.

"Could it be…?" Chifuyu whispered, her stoicism faltering for a moment as her long black hair shifted to the side.

"Impossible, he's dead…" Tabane murmured, as she wiped a strand of faded pink hair from her face, her quirky demeanor absent, replaced by something deeper, something sadder.

But as they surveyed the scorched Earth left behind by the Punisher, as the mysterious vigilante behind these mass murders of the criminal element was being called, they could not shake the feeling that the tide was turning, and that the winds of change were beginning to blow wildly.

As the fire at the Phantom Task base continued to crackle and burn, the Punisher stood as a symbol of justice and retribution. With each victory, he would weave a web of fear around the heart of Albert Dunois, the man who dared to destroy an innocent family.

Because as long as evil continued to fester in the dark corners of the world, the Punisher would be there, an unwavering force of retribution. And the hunt for justice had only just begun.

Log 2: Shadows and Whispers

The once-peaceful city had changed, consumed by the ever-growing darkness of crime and corruption. Ichika roamed the streets at night, targeting criminals both big and small, as he carved out his vengeance. He tore down criminal enterprises brick by brick, each bloody confrontation a piece of the patchwork quilt that would eventually uncover the truth.

During the brightness of the day, Ichika fought a different foe—his own sanity. As each moment passed, his mind played an endless loop of the massacre, the final cries of loved ones fading into the abyss. Torture and anguish threatened to swallow him whole, but he never lost sight of his mission. [5]

Determined to dismantle Albert Dunois' illegal operations and put a major blow in the plans of Phantom Task, Ichika embarked on missions to fight the various factions of the French arms dealer's empire. From drug trafficking to arms smuggling, he left no stone unturned, sabotaging enemy plans and terrorizing criminal enterprises.

His relentless pursuit inevitably drew the attention of law enforcement agencies and intelligence organizations, heightening tensions and putting him on their radar. This scrutiny only served to fuel Ichika's resolve, as he knew he was one step closer to exposing the truth behind the Dunois family's dark secrets.

Back in Japan, Chifuyu Orimura and Tabane Shinomono continued their investigation into the mysterious assailant, growing increasingly suspicious as the clues mounted. Seeking answers, they turned their attention to Charlotte Dunois, the beleaguered daughter of Albert.

Following the trails of blood left by their mysterious assailant, the two older women discovered witnesses and information linking the mysterious killer to the Dunois family and their dark secrets. They interrogated the shell-shocked Charlotte, who spoke of lost innocence and heartbreak. [6]

The blonde IS Academy first-year student was still grappling with the shock of Ichika's supposed death, her unstable emotions raw and chaotic.

"The Dunois family…isn't as innocent as they appear," Charlotte whispered, her voice trembling with fear and betrayal. "My…my father is involved in something terrible, a world of darkness."

Armed with this revelation, Tabane and Chifuyu pursued the investigation further into the heart of darkness that surrounded the Dunouis family.

In the late hours of a moonlit night, Ichika entered the fortified walls of Albert's castle in France, evading the various spy agencies and law enforcement officers hot on his trail. Dressed in all black and armed only with cunning and determination, Ichika's footsteps were like whispers against the wind.

He maneuvered through the depths of the castle with the help of a previously unwilling Phantom Task informant. Panic-stricken and terrified, the lackey led Ichika to strategic locations where he strategically placed listening devices and bugs.

His cold, calculating eyes watched as members of Phantom Task conducted their illicit affairs, and through the eavesdropped conversations, he pieced together the events surrounding his family's murder. The truth was tantalizingly close, and he knew it was only a matter of time before his chance for retribution finally arrived.

"We're almost done," Ichika assured the Phantom Task informant, tightening the grip on the man's arm. The informant trembled in his grip, terrified at the inevitable outcome.

Ichika's ears soon buzzed with Albert's hushed conversations, secrets shared between powerful men. As he listened, the clues began to stitch together, like the simple notes of a melancholy choir.

With each revelation, the memory of his decimated family at the forefront of his mind, Ichika could feel the anger welling within him. It was difficult to keep the wall between vengeful fury and cold, methodical planning from crumbling. He could feel the buried beast clawing at his restraint, begging to be set free.

The night had grown weary, and back at his makeshift command center, Ichika reflected on his progress. The dimly lit room only served to amplify his, still-raw, wounds. Shadows still lingered in memory and reality.

As he stood with a heavy heart and a pistol lying coldly on the desk next to him, he knew that there was still much more pain to come. But the darkness looming overhead would find no solace tonight, for he had made up his mind – the Punisher would rise again.

The young man sat in his secret base, memories of his family and the times they had spent together before their brutal murder weighed heavily upon him. The pistol on the desk beside him served as a chilling reminder of his newfound power, and with every mission, he wondered if the darkness within him would consume his very soul.

Unable to escape the echoes of his past, Ichika steeled himself for the next phase of his journey. Each step he took would bring him closer to justice or damnation; only time would reveal his ultimate fate.

As the line between justice and retribution began to blur, Ichika Orimura, the Punisher, would rise to meet the challenges of the world he created. And in the end, no man, woman, or beast would stand in the way of his quest for vengeance.

[1] Since this isn't canon Marvel Comics or even the MCU where characters can survive even the most fatal events thanks to plot armor and deus ex machina, Ichika is wearing a somewhat upgraded but more primitive practical version of the TALOS prototype battle exoskeleton developed by United States Special Operations Command before it was supposedly 'put on hold' in 2019. Since his older sister was the first IS Pilot who destroyed a barrage of missiles sent to take her out using a prototype IS Unit and won every IS competition before retiring after Ichika got kidnapped and his younger sister is a skilled operative of Phantom Task herself, I can imagine Ichika having some skill at combat as well as engineering and inventiveness due to being around Tabane.

[2] Ichika would be able to hide from the world at large, but he wouldn't be able to hide from the Sarashiki clan for long. So when Katana, aka Tatenashi found out that Ichika had survived the brutal attack on the Orimuras/Shinomonos and was roaming the world on a brutal crusade to kill any criminal that got in his way, she got curious and decided to pay the avenger a visit. This version of Ichika, having never experienced the events of Season 2 of the Infinite Stratos anime, is clueless to the whole shadow war going on and just assumes the quirky blue-haired seductress is just some weird denizen of the underworld, which suits him just fine.

[3] Watching your entire family get murdered by ruthless mercenaries hired by a terrorist organization, and then being shot near the heart and left for dead by the murderers before being blown off a dock would harden the heart and kill the soul of anybody, even the most naive, delusional idiot.

[4] Yeah, I made Ichika, Chifuyu and their younger sister Madoka the cousins of the Shinomono sisters. As to why I did that...Chifuyu and everyone's favorite mad scientist seem way too close to be just best friends...and it's pretty strange how Chifuyu had no problem volunteering to be the test pilot of the IS after Tabane invented it or how Houki seems to consistently pursue Ichika...a marriage contract perhaps?

[5] Ichika's mind would be constantly tormented by the tragic memories of the death of his family and the guilt he would feel at being unable to protect them, which he would suppress and use as fuel for his mission of vengeance against crime.

[6] Since this isn't the 616 canon universe of Marvel or the dumpster fire that is the MCU, or even the joke that is the canon plot of Infinite Stratos, Tabane and Chifuyu are actually competent and skilled at their jobs, despite being overwhelmed by their respective professions. They would have to have noticed something was suspicious about 'Charles Dunois' sudden passing and his 'younger sister' becoming a new student at the IS Academy just as the dogs of war were being unleashed upon the Dunois corporate empire. Charlotte's closeness to Ichika and her strong feelings for Chifuyu's dense younger brother would have definitely caught the attention of the two older women, given their family history and their professions.
