The two friends had finished their latest mission and decided to spend some time doing what they rarely do, play games, sadly most of the good games were already taken by other servants so they only had two games available to them, one was based on the Sekirei Anime, it was a brutal tournament RPG game, the other was an open world RPG based on Akame Ga Kill, Hector, of course, chose first the Sekirei game because he knew what the other one was based on, so Hiro had no choice but to play that one first.
They were both single-player games, and as fate would have it Hector met many people he came to care about deeply, as Minato and Minato he went through that brutal tournament game trying the impossible, to save every single Sekirei, it was considered an impossible achievement because many of the people he or his flock of Sekirei would have to fight were Sekirei, as long as Sekirei fought against each other, one of them was going to die, so Minato chose to instead fight them himself, if only to free them from the abusive idiots who used them as disposable minions.
This bravery dedication and compassion, however, had a much different effect on the Sekirei, this made them each eventually want to be with him, so the entire Sekirei as a species became females, Sekirei do not have a concept of gender, they would become the gender that the person they would choose as their mate is, that is why every Sekirei became female, and through what seems to be years he had many adventures, some even to other planets, eventually Minato was married to one hundred and eight women, and they each loved him so much that six of them refused to ever be away from him.
Many of the other Ashikabi at first thought that it was impressive to have so many of the first numbers, but it was hardly as impressive when at the end of the tournament he not only had six but every single Sekirei there was, each had talents that made them experts in a given field, so the other wives decided to help, by each doing their own thing they would bring in money and resources for the family.
One hundred and eight experts mean this family was in fact masters of every known skill or trade there was, they slowly became a mighty economic empire, and many had tried to kill Minato as time went by, some out of sheer envy of the beauty of his wives, even nations who wanted to eliminate him so their country may be the most powerful nation in the world, but Minato didn't care about any of that crap, fame, fortune, prestige to him they were fleeting concepts, the family was the one thing that he knew he could always count on, his one treasure.
It turned out that the tournament was brutal, yes, many of the Ashikabi who did horrible things did in fact die, the monster that once could have called himself his father also perished, all this pain, death, and suffering, many asked why would he do this? The answer was simple, to this insane person the tournament was nothing more than another experiment, nothing more than another way to become even more famous and wealthy. In the end, his sick mind is what ended up causing his demise, he honestly thought that he controlled everyone, be it Sekirei or Ashikabi, that he was granted a mandate from heaven, with a power equal to a god, believing that on his command any of the people of the tournament would lose all their powers.
It was bad but this was made even worse when some of the horrors the Sekirei endured were revealed, there was a reason why one of the single numbers chose to run and hide at Izumo Inn, because the lady that controlled that place was the strongest Sekirei that lived. This amazingly strong Sekirei suffered the loss of her husband and had gone down into such a depression she would not even leave the Inn for any reason.
To many that place was home, to others it was a refuge from MBI, to Miya it was her tomb, she had lost most enjoyment from life, he only cooked because she wanted not to cause others to suffer, she only washed or bathed for the same reason, that is until she met Minato, whom at first she felt a bit like a surrogate big sister, but as she saw the risks he was willing to take, she could no longer deny it, she was falling for him which at first was torture, she felt like she was betraying her dead husband, till one of the Sekirei reminded her of her vows, which caused her to break down in tears.
That is how Miya came to join Minato's flock, and even knowing how powerful she was, Minato never had her fight in the stupid tournament, many Sekirei actually feared that Minato would have her fight, and due to that fear they either tried to do something stupid like an assassination, or they were sent to try and seduce him, to control him by offering an enticing offer, none of it worked, and those Ashikabi who tried, paid the price for it by having those Sekirei join Minato's flock, some of them even were killed.
Minato after so many hours playing, something he rarely could do, achieved the world unifier, paradise creator, and flock master achievements, unlocking a secret true happy ending. As Hector saw the ending credits he couldn't help but cry a little as he took off his visor and the console turned off, that had been the most fun two days he could remember.
Hiro was watching him take off the headset as he looked at his face, "I know that the ending is quite tragic I played it myself, but come on, Hector it is nothing compared to what I had to go through, you think that was bad, mine is a shitstorm, I ain't kidding, there is nobody in that fucking game that makes out alive, do you know how many characters were in the damn thing? Over fifty, Do you know how many survive in the end, One, this makes some fucking horror films I've seen look like fucking bridal showers, and baby reveal parties. So come on hand over the disk for the game and play through this shit and let's see if what you went through was really bad."
That is when Hector told him that he actually got every single achievement and that includes an ending few consider to be a myth, Hiro called bullshit on the fact that his friend got the secret happily ever after ending, and Hector's response was that he in fact did, as he they gave exchanged games with each other. As Hector plugged in the game, he told Hiro if he wanted the happy ending to go for a no-kill run, and to use his own character rather than the Sekirei. Hiro called that nuts as Hector put the headset back on and went into the game.
What Hiro considered a gory horror nightmare was if anything a tragedy, every character except for a very few had an absolutely tragic history behind them, true they did do some rather despicable things but most did it either to survive or because of the mental or emotional trauma they had suffered. This is a universe where they have weapons and other artifacts that even the psychopaths in Sekirei would say are a bit much, even the self-proclaimed game master, and that is saying something.
He wanted to see if there was a happily ever after ending for another no-kill run, so that is how he played the game, trying to find ways to kill absolutely nobody, which of course ended in absolute failure, causing him to reload a previous save time after time, he quickly developed a method, he would literally collect these imperials arms, and through each playthrough, he collected more and more till he had all of them, the thing is that since his main was quite literally a tyrannical dragon, this means he had to get the same imperial arms twice, the first time because his own imperial arms would either from hunger or sick enjoyment would devour any extra imperial arms he has, any new imperial arms that this guy has never ate would end up on the menu.
This is sick, that is all Hector would call it, that Incursio ate a single copy of every single imperial arm that has ever existed, then he had to go and do the entire thing all over again to actually collect all the imperials arms. To make matters worse no matter what route he took, what strategy he chose, or what skills he had, none of the endings were good. This is a single-player game, which means he couldn't ask his friend or anyone to come and help him.
After collecting every weapon, going through and scene every possible way these characters could end up dying, and having experienced every single way a person could die, the only thing Hector could think is that the only people who would ever enjoy this shit is either a complete masochist, a complete sociopath, or both. So he abandoned his plan of doing a no-kill run and did a one-eighty on it. He went from a no-kill to a genocide run, he could only justify it by saying, "Fuck it, if they have to live in this crappy reality, killing them is mercy, simply putting them out of their misery. He went as far as to on his final playthrough when he was a member of Night Raid, he did something the leader never expected.
He dumped on her desk a copy of every single imperial arm that has ever existed and then proceeded to tell her every detail of the lives of all their targets, without sparing any details. He knew every secret, every horrible act, every disgusting cult, and every single messed up fucking piece of shit these so-called nobles had done. The revolutionary army called that a blatant attempt to give them faulty information, but after the successful elimination of three targets that had been considered impossible, the revolutionary army changed their song.
In the end, the Revolutionary Army won the war, every single corrupt noble or their goons was eliminated, the Emperor who was just a kid, used the imperial arm that was basically his throne and he killed over half of the people in the capital, in the end much like the anime this game was based on, Hector killed the giant mechanized monster but died crushed by it as he held the corpse of the monster up to prevent it from crushing innocent people, he was so pissed that he didn't bother telling his friend anything at all, which made Hiro laugh and told him, "See I told you, that fucking game has no good ending, every fucking ending sucks, what kind of sick motherfucking bastard would even want to make that shit?"
Hector merely flipped the box of the game and showed his friend the logo, upon seeing it he knew that they did this just for profit, "And they probably lied to the gamers about it having a happy ending. So yes this game blows, please take it back so I can go back to my ever-loving flock, I miss them so much it's not even fucking funny."
That is not something Hiro heard often and when he did hear Hector swear it means he is really upset about something, the game he had played before must have really upset his friend, but knowing what he probably saw in that fucking thing, how could Hiro possibly blame him for being upset, he was royally pissed off when the end credits appeared, he wanted to fucking burn that planet to the fucking ground, but in contrast, his friend was merely upset. A true testament to his friend's self-control.
As he was about to give him the game his friend started playing first, he heard a sound coming from the speakers in the walls, it was clear that the goddess has something to tell them, "Well sorry my friend, I guess you will have to wait till you get to play a new games plus for that game, it seems your ball and chain wants to tell us something important, and I can't help but to think it has something to do with these two games we played. For out of hundreds of games we could only play these two games, I know you will call me paranoid, but I can smell it, and this smells of a setup."
Hector simply refused to believe that his beloved wife would ever inflict him with this much pain for no good reason at all, this fucking last game was pure fucking torture, why would the woman who has proclaimed her love for him, declare her ever-lasting affections and in fact is the mother of several of their children would put him through this piece of shit. It made no fucking sense at all, then again the whole premise of that fucking world where citizens were treated even worse than cattle didn't make much fucking sense, to begin with.
A nation depends on its citizens, no citizen should be afraid of their government, but every government should fear what happens if they pissed off their citizens this badly, revolutions, and outright overthrows of national leadership have happened for less than this, one such movement started simply because the citizens did not have a way to obtain good quality food for their people, a monarch was killed simply because one of the leaders of the rebels told a lie, that the monarch was so heartless when she was told there was no bread for the citizens, this person lied and said the queen told others to let the starving citizens eat cake. This single lie lead to countless deaths and the royal family being decapitated in public.
No monarch no matter how stupid would want to piss off their citizenry this badly, and in that game that is exactly what they did, they overcharged poor villages on their yearly taxes, when they couldn't pay in crops, they demanded that they pay by giving them people from their village as slaves. These villages knew exactly that these people were worse than dead, the least that could happen is they will die, killed for some noble's enjoyment, and the worst, if the villager was a girl, she would probably be raped, and impregnated repeatedly, only to kill her child in front of her, cooked and baked so that the man who raped her can eat it in front of her.
Not even hell was as bad as that fucking place, so why would his loving wife set things up so that he has to play that fucking game, and why did he have another one where essentially the man was insane, true, but with effort and hard work, happiness was still a possibility, in the game he just finished death is mercy, there is no chance for happiness in that dump, no chance for any sort of happiness, at all.
As they walked through the opened doors that lead towards the office they have gone to so many times before, Hiro couldn't help but to laugh as he too thought of the reason why their goddess would do something like this, it was something that could be considered borderline insane, "Honestly I still think your wife pulled some strings and got us to pay those two games, what did we do to deserved that, that I can't figure but she must be pissed with you or both of us, cause that was not nice at all."
As they sat down on their usual chairs of the chair where the goddess turned around and they could see her, wearing her usual robes, and she didn't look as happy or smiling as she usually was when they came to her office, she was also rather upset if Hector could tell, she was trying very hard to keep her angst hidden, but it was so severe that even her hair looked different than usual, this told Hector his wife probably was upset as he was or even worse.
"So you two ended up playing those two games, sorry that I couldn't tell you to do that, I simply couldn't find the right words to tell you that you would need to go through those games, although I could tell you had a particularly fun time with that flock of Sekirei, something that Hiro apparently didn't enjoy too much since he only played one playthrough of it, in contrast to the other one that he much like you played multiple playthroughs, you were not being punished, it was necessary for your next mission, and I know why the dimension that you are going to end up like it did, unlike the previous times."
Hiro was clearly still upset because he chose to interrupt the goddess by accusing her the only reason she would know is that, unlike the previous times, she was the one that made the merged dimension they are going to have to go into. Hector told his friend to still remember his manners, and there was no reason to suspect her of doing something like that just from his paranoid doubts and little to no proof.
She could help but to laugh as she heard Hector, as she smiled at him, "While I am happy that you are ready to jump in and defend me, I am sorry but your friend is correct, I did create the merged universe I am sending you, it had to be done, I was forced to create it when another goddess challenged me to make a better version of the dimension she created, and if I didn't send you and your friend, she would consider it my loss, and what she would take is something I rather die than let that happen, should I fail to do this and you two fail in that mission, she will claim both of you for herself, only to cause a war between us."
"She demanded that I sent you to a dimension based on Akane Ga Kill, I know you husband you probably would take it as a challenge, but you would never enjoy it, Hiro, here after seeing what he did in his playthroughs I know how this upsets him, but I also had a few things to make the situation better for both of you, since I am the one that created that dimension I could put in place many changes that would make that dimension a little bit better, but I had to use my knowledge of D&D to make the dimension work with all the changes I was going to make."
Hiro glared at her and she couldn't help but to look at her husband when he did that, Hiro accused her that the dimension involving Sekirei and that piece of shit of a dimension based on that fucking horrible place, and the one thing that upset him is that she was willing to introduce even more people to such a horrible place. "I know, I know you felt it, you felt like you were Tatsuki, you felt like you were that poor kid trying to avenge his friends and family, to cut out cancer that is that madman named Honest, which is why I also accepted this, cause in this dimension much like my husband figured out you can have a happily ever after if you are willing to work for it."
Hiro with his hands gripping the handles on his chair asked what does she mean by saying that, she looked at him, "I had to be the creator to put into place everything I needed to make your mission less painful, do you honestly think I would want to torture my husband and his best friend? No, I wouldn't. This dimension has several changes, yes the Sekirei were added but not to add more victims, but rather they were added so Hector here has some people to help him, the second change is that the imperial arms if a person is bonded to one of them, they will be unable to kill any innocent people, if a crazy mass murdering bastard takes one and bonds with it, his mind with get completely and utterly fixed by the Teigu, no way to reserve it. To make certain you two are going to make it I even pulled one on the other goddess."
She looked at her husband and she smiled, "I took your Incursio, and you will get it back, this time you will enter that dimension and so will your friend, you have two copies of it, so you without knowing created two Teigu who absorbed the powers and abilities of all the Teigu, each ate sixty-six Teigu, these means when you too finally awaken in that dimension, you two will be bonded to two of the most powerful Teigu to ever exist, to call you overpowered is such an understatement it is practically funny. If you were to abandon everyone in that world and simply take out Honest, yes you would make him a martyr, but you are strong enough to do that, but like I said you will cause the people to revolt and spare no effort in seeing everyone who has ties with you suffer, as your punishment for killing a man they still consider their kind and benevolent prime minister."
She looked at the angry glare Hiro was giving her, "You can deny it, but after you enter that dimension, and you two wake up, you two will be fused with two of the most powerful imperial arms that could ever exist. For you two, given how you will still have your abilities and gamer powers, you two could destroy that entire world if you really wanted to, make it a genocide run if you really went nuts about it, but if you did, that bitch gets both of you, and trust me, you do not want to be her servants, cause Hiro, you already know about two of her servants, and you know them quite well, Zector and Ziro, do you remember them? Well, they are two of her servants."
Hector immediately asked his wife why this insane goddess would want to take them as her servants, they had done nothing but get in the way of the evil plots of those two, which means they have been undoing her plans all along, so why would she want them to be her servants, she probably hates them even worse than her servants do. She sat down on Hector's lap and kissed him on his lips before she decided to answer her husband's question. She got comfortable by leaning against his chest. Something about hearing her husband's heartbeat was almost calming.
"Why would she want this? Simple, as long as you or anyone else is my servant, it means that no matter how they try, or how in fact they do kill you both, it is meaningless because as my servants I can resurrect you any time I wish it, death can not touch the servants of a god or goddess without that deity permission. That I think was the initial reason, she wanted you to name her servants so her other two servants can kill you, and since she will refuse to resurrect you, you will stay dead, but that was before, now I think she wants to take both of you from me so that she can make your lives worse than a living hell. Honey, she does hate your guts, all because you did something she never wanted to happen, you married me and made me happy."
Hiro asked her why would she want to do this much against her, the goddess told him that sometimes in the lives of mortals, some families have a crazy member of it, that only wants to see the other family members die, and their family burned to ashes, why would gods be any different?
Hector told his friend at the very least they will have the memories of everything that happened within that awful game, so in theory, since that piece of shit was done following the actual events of the anime, this should give them an approximate idea of what the hell is going to happen, unless someone else decided to screw things up when they made that piece of shit game.
The Goddess couldn't help to laugh upon hearing what her husband said, "Well, I hate to tell you this, but it is far worse than you think, the First Emperor had five thousand Teigu made not less than a hundred, then a descendant of his centuries later had another thousand made, but the idiot was an egomaniac so he named them something else, what does this have in common? The place where he sent these weapons to be made is an archipelago with about over thirty islands, and these "Imperial Arms" are common everyday pieces of equipment there. And if you think it couldn't get worse the pieces commissioned by the First Emperor have the three rituals, the Second Order by his descendant also had all three rituals on them, meaning each one of these damn things cost the Empire more than it costs to feed an army. "
Hiro told the Goddess then it had a selfish, evil, heartless monster as a Prime Minister he gets it, "No, you don't. Honest is not a mere commoner that was promoted to Prime Minister, he is the crown prince of one of those island nations I mentioned, Honest is not doing this out of greed or simple stupidity, no he is actually planning this to make the people lose faith in their empire and cause it to collapse, even if it means killing everyone in the Empire, and why? Because he thinks his nation will be able to take over the territory once everyone in the Empire is dead."
Hiro already hated Honest but this honestly makes him want to kill the man even more, "And then he had over two thousand of these fake imperial arms created with none of the rituals, cause these rituals each is as expensive as hell, so none of these things which he called Honors, have any of the protections, which means they are fragile as hell, breaking it will cause the host to die, and evil people can use this to hunt down and kill innocent people, and all this, so people lose faith in the actual Imperial Arms, called the Teigu and the ones made by the descendant of the First Emperor which he called Miho. So Honest is quite literally making all this to make the Imperial line lose face, and the people revolt to kill them. Which in the game is actually working because there is a Revolutionary Army that wants to kill the imperial family."
Hector basically summarized that they are up a creek without a paddle and the river is full of shit instead of water, "Essentially, yes, but you will have those lovely ladies from your flock to help you, and you will have to go and help your friend train him and his friend since you will have more experience than they do since you will arrive three years before they do. Since you are going to complain yes, you have the arm forge dungeon where you have all the tools needed to create imperial arms, and you will have to hunt dangerous beasts for the needed materials, you both will have the knowledge of how these imperials arms are created, maintained and repaired. So if you meet one of these idiots that received an Honor from Hope, as long as they are truly loyal to either of you, and you have the appropriate parts you can repair it to be actual imperial arms, as long as you have the materials and money needed."
