A/N: This story will be based on canon, a few changes here and there, while revolving a blooming love story between Eren and Levi. I don't consider myself a writer so I'm purely doing this out of fun, so sorry in advance for any errors or any boring aspects throughout the story. I won't have a set schedule as to when and how much I'll upload, but I will do my best to not fall into my bad habits of procrastination. Anyways, I hope you enjoy this start of the journey!

Chapter 1

He did it, he managed to plug the hole of Wall Rose with a giant boulder.

'All those deaths…', Titan Eren thought. 'They weren't in vain.'

His human body emerged from the muscles of his titan's neck, releasing some steam. Armin landed right next to him using his ODM gear to give him a hand. He grips his body to pull him out, having a hard time as it seems Eren's body was fusing with his titan form.

"Hurry Armin!", shouted Mikasa. "We need to get out of here, more Titans are coming this way!"

"I'm trying!", Armin shouted back, sweating from the heat. "I can't seem to pull him out."

He pulled out one of his long swords that is sitting on his hips, slicing the tissues that are attached to Eren with one big swing. Causing him to fall backwards with Eren in his arms, hitting the hard ground with a loud thump. Slowly looking up, he came face to face with 2 frightening titans – paralyzing him with fear. Eren sluggishly opened his eyes as a short dark-haired man gracefully swung himself in to finish off both titans with a 1 meter high, 10 cm slice across the nape. The titan pair collapsed from their deathblow, inches away from the two teenagers.

Eren focused his sight on the logo of the man's flowy green cloak while he lands on the fallen titan.

"Wings … of Freedom...", he weakly muttered to himself. His green eyes slowly wandering to the man's face as he turned around, taking in his striking sharp features and his dark alluring eyes.

'Captain Levi?', he thought. 'He … he's so …' His thoughts trailed off as he fell unconscious once again.

"Oi," Levi said. "What are you brats doing? You need to leave."

"Ye-yes, sir." Armin sputtered out. "Thank you."

Armin stood up, putting one of Eren's limped arm around his shoulders. Mikasa ran towards them to make sure Eren was okay, she couldn't bear the thought of him being hurt.

"I'll take him," she said to Armin, moving Eren's arm around her shoulders instead – placing a tight grip around his waist for more support.

The trio scaled up the wall with their gear, using the tall structure as their way to head over to commander Pixis. Leaving captain Levi and the other remaining soldiers the responsibility to exterminate all the Titans that are trapped inside. He watches them leave, fixedly staring at the unconscious Eren till he was a mere dot far away.

The next day….

Eren leaped up from his slumber, eyes wide adjusting to his surroundings around his bed. The very first thing that his blurred vision focused on was an older gentleman with blonde hair sitting on a chair, and leaning against the wall right next to him is the very same man who saved him and Armin. But what caught his attention the most was that the sight of them was obscured … with steel bars?

'Huh?', he thought. 'Where the hell am I? Why are the commander and captain of Survey Corps here?'

"Seems like you have a question in mind.", stated Erwin.

"Ye-yeah," Eren said, looking down at the heavy chains locked around his wrists. "Uh … why am I here?"

"The Military Police has gained temporary custody of you so they had you placed in an underground jail cell," Erwin explained, holding up an old key. "We came here to speak with you about this key."

Eren's hand instinctively went up to his chest to grab the absence of its once there key.

"My dad's key..."

"Yes, your dad's key. We'll give it back to you eventually but we've been notified that this will unlock the basement of your house in Shiganshina, apparently holding the answers to the mystery of the Titans. Is that true?"

"I-I'm not 100% sure," Eren quietly said. "According to what my father said, yes."

"Your father is currently missing and you claim to be clueless about what's in your basement," Levi spoke up, pushing himself off the wall to walk towards the steel bars. "Seems like the perfect convenient story."

"Levi," said Erwin.

"Oi," Levi said to Eren, staring intensely into his green eyes. "This better not be a made-up story you created just to save your ass from getting killed by us."

Eren sat there, unable to break the gaze between him and Levi. He knows he should be defending himself to this man right now but for some reason, he's lost deep in the perplexing shimmer of his eyes…

"Now Levi, we all agreed that Eren has no motive to withhold any information from us." Erwin said. "But he does have the capability to answer this question, are you willing to help us?"

Eren forced himself to break the trance to look at Erwin, "Help you?"

"Yes, we will need the power of your titan in order for us to retake Shiganshina and Wall Maria if we want to minimize the casualty." Erwin clarified. "It's safe to assume that the Colossal Titan and the Armored Titan are the exact same concept as you, who caused the start of our cruel anguish, so it's only befitting that your Titan can be the key to liberate humanity from it. Are you willing to cooperate?"

Eren looked down towards his open hands, thinking to himself. 'This is my chance to save everyone … I can kill every titan and wipe them out from existence!' His body shook from the determination that is coursing through his veins, a clear goal etched into his mind.

"Answer the question, you little piece of shit," Levi told Eren. "Are you going to obediently submit yourself to us?"

Eren lifted his head and directed his answer to him, "Yes … I'll join the Survey Corps so that I can execute every single titan there is!"

Levi was taken aback by how strongly he can feel the intensity of determination in Eren's eyes, he's just a young teenager after all. But that look he gave him sparked an interest in Levi, 'What a strange boy…'

Levi turned his head to face Erwin, "You can let the brass know that I will take sole responsibility of this brat." Looking back at Eren with a glare, "If there's any slight probability that he loses control or has intentions of betraying us, I will be the one to execute him."

Eren was stunned when he notices no deception in his eyes as he spoke. 'He'll undoubtedly kill me … I can't let them and humanity down.'

"Kill me if you need to," Eren said, returning the glare. "I'll give it my all to not be a hindrance towards you and the efforts to free mankind from this long hardship."

Erwin stood up from his chair, interrupting the darting daggers between Eren and Levi.

"Well, I guess that's settled then. It's not entirely up to us but we'll do our best to convince the government in the upcoming trial into giving you to Survey Corps, since we're not the only branch who wants you." Erwin headed towards the exit, "So just get some rest … we'll meet again."

Levi followed after Erwin, walking up the stairs. "Do you think we'll succeed on convincing them to give us Eren?"

Erwin stopped at the top of the stairs to face Levi, stopping his tracks as he realized the grim somber expression that fell on his face … never seeing him with that look before. Not even on one of their expeditions outside the walls.

"We will do whatever it takes to get Eren in our branch," Erwin asserted, now giving him his back as he continues on his way. 'I need to know what's in that basement … maybe it'll confirm what my father has told me when I was young kid.'

Levi stood there for a brief moment, mulling over about what Erwin meant by that. There's no way he had an underlying intention to his words, right? He pinched the bridge of his nose as a small headache is brushing against the front of his skull, not fully realizing what he signed himself up for.

'Why do I feel like that boy is going to be a pain in the ass…' he let out a sigh before catching up to Erwin, walking along side of him.

Eren watched the pair walk up the stairs, a remembrance that he is stuck in this 8 x 12 cell. He laid down on his back, eyes gazing up at the leisurely swinging chains attached to the ceiling.

'Hopefully the government will agree to hand me over to the Survey Corps,' he thought. 'Regardless of my current situation, it was always a dream of mine.'

He turned onto his side, trying to get comfortable despite him being chained.

'Now I can have Levi teach me all there is to know to be a great soldier, as he is known to be the very best in all of history,' he rubbed his eyes as he could feel his drowsiness taking over. 'Levi … I'll prove to you that I'm worth the trouble…' He closed his eyes after succumbing to the great power of sleep.

A/N: I know I know, it's very short but I mean it's only the first chapter. I'm planning to make all the upcoming chapters an average of 5,000 words But I hope you still enjoyed it!
