So, I finally saw Fast X and frankly, it's just discount Avengers with cars after F7 and over the top after Paul Walker's death and it was so much bloated with action that at this point it's Avengers/Mission: Impossible with cars and doesn't feel like Fast & Furious anymore, even though it went a little bit to basics with some racing, even though Jason Momoa's performance as Dante was great and he was a fun villain and even though all of his plans went without a hitch and Dom ended up playing into his hands, at least Dom and his team wasn't completely braindead but what annoyed me a bit was how wasted and underused Deckard, Cipher and Jakob were in the film, even though Jakob gets his moment in the climax and then there's the cliffhanger and mid-credits scene but even though Brie Larson was badass here, still not a fan due to Captain Marvel, though I'm curious about the final film.
Thought this would've fit here, considering that Dante has an ax to grind with both Dom and Hobbs for Reyes.
*WARNING: SPOILER ALERT*
Even though I'm excited to see Gisele and Hobbs back, seriously, does anyone stay dead in the film series? First Han, now Gisele, plus Han's survival felt dumb as hell. Sadly, in real life that can't really happen, RIP Paul Walker. Even though you would be proud of your daughter Meadow having a cameo in the movie. Personally, Paul's death hit me hard, when I found out since one of my close friends had also gotten into a car accident once, even though she wasn't driving but at least she survived.
They better explain properly how Gisele is alive, since as much as I was happy to see Gal Gadot at the ending, seriously, no one seems to stay dead in the franchise, which sadly doesn't apply to real life for Paul.
*END SPOILERS*
Disclaimer: I do not own Fast & Furious.
The armored van with Dom and Aimes had been flipped as Dom heard gunshots and explosions outside. Dom and Aimes and the operatives exited the van as they saw the cars being rammed and wrecked and Dom recognized the bridge… it was the same bridge on which he and Brian had taken away Reyes's vault and across the bridge were Dante's mercs firing at Aimes and his men as Aimes pulled out his SMG and he and Dom took cover before Dom saw Dante exit out of his car.
"Dominic! I brought you back to where we first met!" Dante said, laughing as he went to the trunk. "And I have a surprise for you!"
Dom stared in shock as he saw Dante pull out a young brunette woman, who was Isabel, Elena's sister. Improvising, Dom began fiddling with wires of the engine of a nearby wrecked van and jammed a rebar into the driving wheel and pulled the handbrake before pulling the van, using it as cover.
"Dom!"
Dom turned to Aimes who threw him an SMG.
"I'm listening now." Aimes said as he pulled out his gun and Dom nodded before Aimes opened fire at Dante's men.
Dom picked the car and yelled, struggling as he flipped it over and it began riding down the driveway and turned, knocking down one of Dante's thugs before Dom and Aimes shot more of them down.
"Dominic! Dominic!"
Dom and Aimes turned to Dante, who was holding Isabel hostage.
"Would you stop hurting my new friends?" Dante asked.
"No. I'm only here to hurt you." Dom said, having enough of Dante going after his family.
"Oh. I'm not gonna lie to you. That little car stunt you just did, that was pretty awesome. Wasn't it?" Dante said as he shook Isabel, mimicking female voice. "It was so cool." He began glaring at Dom, making his voice normal as he pulled out his knife. "But if you don't stop, I'm gonna cut her everywhere. Badly."
More gunshots rang out as Dante's men fell down and they turned to see Tess with an SMG in her hands standing on the hood of Dante's car.
"There she is. Fashionably late." Dante said, laughing. "You got me." He let go of Isabel as she ran to Dom. "Off you go." He began retching as he turned to Tess. "Will you please get off my car?"
Tess rubbed her shoe against the hood of Dante's car, scratching the painting and infuriating him as he gasped.
"That is so disrespectful." Dante growled.
"You talk too much." Dom snarled before he rushed at Dante, slamming him against a nearby car. Dom punched Dante and threw him against another car and kicked him in the face before Dom forced Dante to stand up and unleashed a furious series of punches at his face before Dante began cackling maniacally. Dom slammed Dante against another car and was about to finish him off.
"Stop! Stop! You don't know your own strength." Dante said, raising his hands in surrender before he ripped off his mouth a broken tooth. "You butthole!" He got up, grunting. "Do you like ballet? I adore Swan Lake. I feel like you're more of a Nutcracker guy." He began gesturing. "And one… and a two… and…"
A gunshot rang out and Dante expected either Aimes or Tess or Isabel to fall down but he didn't expect more gunshots as the chopper Dante had sent began uncontrollably plummeting to the river as they turned to see a blond man in late 40s with a gun and tall muscular black man in a bulletproof vest with a revolver approach.
"Three." Hobbs said as he and the other man approached before they smiled at Dom and Tess.
"Hope we're not too late." Brian said.
"You took your timing for sure." Dom chuckled as Dante growled.
"You think you're the Devil? Let me tell you something… you just earned yourself a dance with the real Devil, you sumbitch." Hobbs said.
Roaring, Dante rushed at Hobbs as they began trading blows, each landing solid hits at each other, but Dante began cackling as Hobbs slammed him to a car.
"You certainly don't screw around this time, considering that you double-tapped my Dad." Dante said.
"Oh, what I did to him was mercy. You, I ain't gonna be so gentle with." Hobbs sneered before he headbutted Dante, who headbutted Hobbs back in retaliation and uppercut him in the chin as Hobbs stumbled back. Dante kicked Hobbs as he staggered again but Dom grabbed Dante by his neck and slammed his face against Dom's knee, dazing Dante.
Intending to finish it, Hobbs rushed at Dante and grabbed him by his back and wrapped his other arm around his neck and slammed Dante hard to the ground with Rock Bottom finisher move.
"Oh… well… I didn't see that coming." Dante groaned.
"Then I guess you didn't see this coming either." Hobbs snarled before he got up.
"Hobbs." Aimes said as he approached. "Good job."
"Not yet." Hobbs said before he pulled out his gun and shot Aimes in the throat. Aimes gasped, holding his bleeding wound as he fell on his knees before Hobbs shot him in the head and Aimes fell down. "Second time I double-tap a bastard on this bridge. Never liked Aimes anyway."
Dom looked completely confused, while Dante fumed. "You gonna kill me like you killed my father?"
"I'm not gonna kill you." Hobbs shook his head.
"But I will." Isabel sneered before she shot Dante in the head and he swayed.
"After the word about Rome got to me and you all became wanted again, I started following the breadcrumbs to Dante and his father. I was on an op with my men, when I got a call from Dante he'd come after me too." Hobbs said after the Agency arrested Dante's men.
"And when Dante tried to take Mia and Little B., she called me. Did some digging, wondering how was Dante always a step ahead of us, plus how he managed to drain us of our money." Brian explained.
"Thank you." Dom said.
"Plus it turns out Aimes was with Dante there in the police station the day we stole Reyes's vault. It was obvious Dante must've had help to be a step ahead of us and know everything about us, when I found out Aimes was the mole in the Agency. If I hadn't been here, it could've been worse for us all." Brian said.
"And how's Mia and Little B.?" Dom asked.
"Shaw's looking out for your family." Hobbs said begrudgingly, never expecting to say it out loud. "I'm sorry I haven't been around, Dom. I've been busy with my own family issues."
"I get it. Family's tough… but we're stronger together." Dom said.
"And we always look out for each other. Because in family is power." Brian said as they smiled.
"And brothers have each other's backs." Hobbs said as they smiled, looking at this bridge. "Last time we were here, I gave you a head-start."
"So, last I remember, you promised to chase us on this bridge because we had allegedly killed DEA agents and you didn't care back then. Now we're framed for the explosion in Rome. You going to arrest us, agent Hobbs?" Dom asked.
"Well… I do care now, Dom. And I know Dante and Aimes framed you. So me and Tess will do what we can to get you a pardon and be with your family. I'll get Letty out of prison. I promise." Hobbs said and Dom nodded.
"Because we're family." Dom said.
"Family." Brian nodded.
"Family." Hobbs said as they shook hands.
While it was great to see Hobbs in the mid-credits scene, would've been fun to see him in some part of the movie too. Though Paul Walker will always be missed, RIP, so I hope you liked Brian's inclusion here.
So, what do you guys think?
Please review and let me know if you have enjoyed this one-shot.
