Ch 2. Wait what happened!
It was late and the team Prof. X sent out still hadn't come back. Most of the students there were already in bed. Kitty was watching a movie with Jubilee when Hank appeared startling the girls.
"Sorry but I require your assistance down in the med-bay" He then turned and started heading there. The two girls got up and followed him, confused at where everyone else was. They soon learned where they were. At med-bay there were 8 kids that Jean, Rogue, and Kurt were trying to get to sit still. Pietro was standing in the corner talking about how mystique was going to kill him for losing his team.
"What happened? Who are all these kids?" Jubilee asked.
"They are some of our teammates plus most of the Brotherhood turned to ages between two and four." Hank replied as he was checking a boy with a visor breathing into a paper bag as Jean tried to calm him. Kitty and Jubilee looked at each kid. Rogue was trying to get a fiery tempered boy to get on one of the beds threatening to knock him out with her power. Kurt was talking with a blond-haired kid and a silver haired girl. Four kids were around Pietro staring at him. One was a girl in a red suit and one was extremely large.
"How did this happen?" Kitty asked, still in shock.
"OMG LOOK! Their costumes shrunk with them! Look and Wolverines, they look like cute little footie pajamas!" Jubilee was squealing with excitement ready to burst at the cuteness overload.
"We arrived at the chemical lab and already found that it had been breached by the brotherhood." Hank said, ignoring Jubilee. "We entered and immediately got attacked by the brotherhood. Kurt, Rogue, and myself had chased Quicksilver into another area of the building when we heard an explosion. We looked to see what happened and found everyone like this. We were about to leave on our own when Pietro asked for help. He agreed to tell what they were doing there if we got his teammates back to normal. Besides, we couldn't just leave a group of kids. Enemy or not."
Kitty stared at Lance. Her boyfriend, a toddler. When Prof. X entered and asked for a full report.
"Well, I've learned that; Bobbie, Logan, Todd, and Wanda are the youngest at two, Ororo and Fred at three, and Scott and Lance at four. They seem to remember everything just fine but occasionally revert to being the age they've been turned to." Hank told him.
At that, every child seemed to hic-up and started crying or squealing. Bobbie and Todd started crying and Ororo was asking for her mommy with tears in her eyes. Fred kept saying that he was hungry and Scott was asking Jean questions about where he was. Logan and Wanda were looking around curious and surprised. Lance had seen Kitty and immediately started flirting with her the way four-year-old's do.
"Make it stop!" Pietro groaned, covering his ears with his hands.
Jubilee rushed over to calm the crying children as Rogue grabbed Wanda and Logan as they tried to reach some sharp medical supplies. Scott had stopped asking questions and went to help with the younger children.
"Your pwetty. Wanna hang out?" Lance asked, looking up at Kitty.
Kitty giggled at her now toddler boyfriend. Then all the kids seemed to hic-up again and were back to their normal state. Well, their minds were not their ages.
"Amazing isn't it." Hank said as he bent down and examined Wanda and Logan. "Just like that on their back."
"Is there any way to turn them back to their original ages?" Kitty asked.
"I would need time but I may be able to reverse what happened."
"Then until then we will just have to take care of our small friends." The Professor said,
"You mean babysit." Kitty said.
At the mention of that word everyone started yelling saying they didn't need a babysitter and that they could take care of themselves.
"I'm afraid that your condition requires you to have someone help. Especially if you switch back to being actual toddlers." Prof. X told them. There were groans, some from the unaffected. Being a babysitter for their teammates and their enemies didn't sound fun.
"This will be soooooo much fun!" Jubilee said as she hugged as many of the tiny people as she could without being scratched or frozen.
