Chapter 3:
POV Ella
How I love this man and his dragon. They are the only family I have left. How grateful I am that I now have a good life and thanks to Moradeth and Rune I can still be a child now and then as far as Drägannymares can. Now that Rune and Johnno have reintroduced Dragonball, it's the craziest of all. How am I ever going to survive this because I'm sure they will approach me too but to be honest I don't feel like it. I already have so much to do, moreover if I'm really looking for relaxation then I'll go to Moradeth or I'll go to Krikken Island. What I am not looking forward to is tonight's party. I'll have to dance with some clan chiefs again. I get along with most of them, but some eeuuwww no then I'm glad Johnno and Rune protect me from that. Although I don't mind dancing with those 2. They are really good dancers, although they prefer not to hear that from my mouth. Fortunately, I am already being guided by James. He is the only one from Rune who is allowed to guide me. He is also the only one I can actually (passionately) dance with. No one saw it from us and we'd like to keep it that way, although I do think Moradeth saw it. I just have a problem. I don't know what to wear. Rune sees me thinking and asks what's wrong. I smile and kiss him on the nose. I look at him and then I look at Moradeth. He also feels that there is something wrong with me. I look back at Rune and shrug shyly. Rune starts chuckling and so does Moradeth. They know when I'm that shy around them it's about girly things. Rune asks again what's wrong. Then I shyly say that I don't know what to wear for the party and those two burst into laughter. My cheeks turn red and Rune starts hugging me tightly. Graying, Rune looked at me, gave me a kiss and said it will be fine. He got up with me in his arms and walked to my room. He put me on my bed, walked to my wardrobe, opened it and started looking at my dresses. He took out a few dresses and put them on the bed. Then he told me to put on the first dress and show it to him. My red cheeks got even redder. No one had done this to me. Yes, the maids sometimes gave their opinion and whether there was always a dress ready for me to wear. But now that we are busy rebuilding everything I have the luxury.. Well yes luxury for me it is a disaster to choose my own clothes. As Drägannymares, it's dead simple. We don't have many variations on that. But the official occasions are a total disaster for me! I put on the first dress and show it to Rune. He is not completely satisfied yet so I have to put on the 2nd dress. I'm not a girly girl at all and find this really horrible getting dressed and undressed. Rune has to laugh at my moans and meanwhile asks who will escort me to the party. When I say James he grunts approvingly. I know he likes James and that he's the only one allowed to escort me to such parties. Which worried Francina and Johnno a bit because if I came every time with James then the single men wouldn't come and ask for my hand. And I should be choosing a man soon anyway. Fortunately Rune keeps the boat off and Moradeth sometimes scares the men a bit, but I have to say that I'm not ready for it at all. Why should I get married as a Drägannymares, I can't live in no time. The war may be over, but you never know. Who knows how many enemies I've made. He was not yet satisfied with the 2nd dress, so I disappeared behind the changing screen again and put on a new dress. Meanwhile, I thought about James for a moment. There is only one person I trust besides Moradeth, Rune and Orion my own dragon and that is James. James knows me through and through and I know he trusts me completely. Actually, I'm not a party animal at all and with James there it's all doable. Sometimes I wonder if James is that one guy. I am now wearing the third dress and show it to Rune. He looks at me with a grin and then whistles. As expected, the color shoots back to my cheeks. He burst out laughing, stood up and hugged me. He said that I had grown into a beautiful young woman and that I reminded him of my mother. I asked if he was going to the party too. He grumbled something so I took that as a yes. This time I was the one who grinned. I bowed and asked if he wanted to dance with me. He smiled and grabbed me and we started dancing. After 5 minutes of dancing a maid came to say that the food was ready and that we could eat. We followed her and entered table. The food was delicious. After dessert, 2 chambermaids came and did my hair and make-up. Rune left early because Johnno wanted to talk to him before the party started so I just waited for James. James was punctual as always and had brought a beautiful bouquet of roses. I was a little taken aback because I don't know James that way. Or could Rune be behind this? I know he likes James, but does he see James as a good partner for me? I don't really know what Rune thinks about that. I give the roses to one of the chambermaids, who then puts them in a vase of water. James offers me his arm and with a shy smile I take it. Together we walk to the main hall where the party is. We are recognized and greeted by many people. It makes me a little dizzy and James noticed that so he kept people at a bit of a distance and helped me to my seat. He went to get us a drink and Rune sat next to me. He asked if I was okay. I nodded and he put an arm around my shoulder. He reassured me that he and Moradeth wouldn't be far away. Besides, I always had James. My knight in shining amour. That made me laugh. Sometimes he could be so nice and sweet from the corner. But yes I was very happy at the moment that James was with me.
