Since some people forgot to read all the info in chapter 1, quick note that a chapter is released every day for 17 days straight. I can't say at what time exactly cause I got a life. If it feels like chapter 1 just released, that is correct. I am posting this early cause I'm getting eye drops today, won't be able to see a thing for a bit.
Chapter 2, The teacher.
The school bell ran and the chaos of the first school day of the year started. First graders trying to find their classrooms, some dogs going slow on purpose and a lot of excited puppies wanting to go to their class as fast as they could without being called out for running in the hallways by teachers. Zuma made it to his class, Rocky finding him somewhere along the way, they were in the same class. Class 2b, the other paw patrol pups were in 2a.
'You were out early.' Rocky said.
'Yeah, very excited to see my school friends again.' Zuma said.
'Nice, I'm excited myself, I heard I might be allowed to join the technic classes this year.' Rocky said.
'Oh, that's so cool, would maybe actually learn you something new for once.' Zuma joked.
'True.' Rocky said. 'Have you heard about our mentor for this year, I heard she is one of the best mentors on this school.'
'No, I haven't, I hope it's true though, I don't need another "I haven't slept in 84 years" mentor.' Zuma reacted
The two pups enter the classroom, the mentor was already waiting for the pups. The teacher, who was a human as all teachers and school staff were, was sitting in her chair watching the pups enter the classroom. Many pups were still telling stories about their vacation in all excitement. This went on for quite a while, the teacher just sat and waited, with all the calmness available in the world. Around ten minutes after the pups had entered the classroom, the pups stopped talking. The teacher looked at her watch.
'Only ten minutes!' The teacher said enthusiastically. 'That one is going in the history books. Anyway, my name is Maya, and I am your mentor for this year. Just so you pups know, I will be coming by and sit in some of your lessons, I want to get to know each one of you. I am very excited to be your mentor. Don't be afraid to come to me if you need me, I don't bite unless you are my peanut butter sandwich.' The mentor said. What class do you have next?'
'We have economics class next.' One of the pups said.
'Alright, that is a difficult one to start with, but try your best pups, cause education brings you further than you might realize.' Maya said with a smile that just couldn't be wiped of her face.
The school day goes by fast and before the pups knew it, they are already grabbing their bags to return to freedom. Zuma went to his locker. Riley was there too as her locker was on the left of Zuma's locker.
'How was your day?' Zuma asked Riley.
'It was something else. A lot of difficult subjects and a lot of homework, but I'll manage, more worried about Oscar.' Riley said.
'Why?' Zuma asked.
Riley pointed at Oscar, who was coming towards his locker somewhere on the right of where Zuma's locker was. He looked annoyed. Zuma decided to go to him.
'Hey Oscar, how was your day.'
'I don't have time right now; I need to go home.' Oscar said. Putting all the books from his locker in his backpack and leaving with it.
'What got him so annoyed?' Zuma said.
'I think he needs some time to deal with the fact he can't spend every minute of his life on his hobbies anymore.' Riley joked.
'He doesn't do that.' Zuma said, defending his friend.
'It was a joke.' Riley said. 'I don't know what got him so annoyed.'
'I guess he is not coming to meet up at the cave, do you have time?' Zuma asked Riley.
'I have my technics class first, after that I have nothing to do.' Riley said.
'Okay, no worries. I'll wait, maybe Roscoe will join me until then.' Zuma said.
'I sure hope so for you, anyway I need to go to my class, see you after class.' Riley said.
'For sure!' Zuma replied.
As the final dogs started to leave to their homes or other classes, the hallways feel silent. Zuma looked around wondering where Roscoe could be hanging out. As time progressed, Zuma figured the pup probably went home, and so Zuma slowly got his stuff together and started walking to the cave. It felt weird, different. All Zuma could remember from last year was walking to the cave with his friends. But all of a sudden, here he was, walking to the cave on his own, a full hour until Riley's class would finish.
After just more than an hour of sitting around, Riley finally entered the cave, throwing her backpack in a corner.
'You know your communication device is in there right, not to handy to throw it around.' Zuma noticed.
'Ah I don't really care, I talk to you guys every day, almost the full day, what else would I need the thing for.' Riley said. 'No Roscoe I see?'
'No, didn't see him after school at all. Maybe he had something more important to do.' Zuma said.
'I doubt it. Well, thanks for sticking around though, not many dogs would wait a full class hour for me to show up.' Riley said.
'I have nothing better to do really.' Zuma said.
'No humans to save.' Riley joked.
'Ah, I am the last pup Ryder needs most of the time.' Zuma said. 'At least that gives me some extra free time other pups don't have.'
'Always thinking on the bright side, I really don't know how you do it.' Riley commented.
'I got used to my role in the team pretty quickly, it's just how it is, no one can change that.' Zuma said.
'Yeah, you're right.' Riley said. 'I hope Oscar and Roscoe will join us again soon.'
'Yeah, me to, I hope everything is okay with them.' Zuma said.
The pups chatted for a long time, as both pups didn't have much to do.
'I have to leave for dinner, see you tomorrow.' Zuma said, grabbing his backpack.
'Yes, see you tomorrow.' Riley replied with a smile, staying in the cave.
