Momo's mom always looked out for her. She bought her all her clothes, paid for all her school necessities, and always gave her advice, even when she didn't ask for it. All the things her mother ever did for her, Momo considered good, even when her mother criticized her. Criticism was good, it was alright to be corrected. You make a mistake, someone tells you it's wrong, you correct yourself and you never do it again. Simple. Straight.

There was never a time Momo could say her mother wasn't there for her, and she appreciated that. She loved her mother dearly, and believed that she would never try to lead her in the wrong direction. She would never. That's why when Momo heard from her mother that "her lovely daughter was putting on a lot of weight," the everything hero had to take the necessary steps.

Her mistake? She was eating way too much wasn't she.

Somebody corrected her. Her mother said her hips were beginning to look a bit too wide. Nobody would like her if she got so fat.

She had to correct herself. In her mind, Momo thanked her mother for always being so open with her. She would never get criticism like this from anyone else. So, it was great that her mother could point out such a mistake before Momo took it too far. She had to lose some weight again.

This was not the first time her mother mentioned something like this to her. It had happened many times before, and many times before had she tried to get rid of all the dreadful fat on her body. She knew what she had to do. It worked wonderfully before. One meal a day, maybe just a snack, and exercise every single day of the week. She'd even tried to use her powers more often, making little items quite often to quickly get rid of body fat. It's how she'd gotten great at using her powers, and great at chemistry. Sure it was difficult, especially during her studies at UA. When the school organized the dorm system, she'd stopped thinking of of how her body looked to others. She'd forgotten her mistake.

Now that she was officially a pro hero and back at the manor with her parents, thankfully she's been able to keep up with her mistakes lately. It's been just over three months since she began fixing her body again. Obviously becoming a pro hero meant she needed to use her powers a lot so that meant she ate a lot, which was bad. It was much easier before. She was just a teenager and daily training at UA meant her exercise was kept up along with her dieting. Now she needed to try harder, to keep up her body image for her mother and simultaneously keep protecting the citizens of Japan. She would not stand to let either party down.

She fixed herself a new routine. It wasn't very effective at first. Momo tried eating a hearty breakfast each day of the week and then for the rest of the day she was only allowed to drink water. She knew what would happen once she started dieting again. The head spinning, the stomach aches, the drowsiness. She remembered all of it from before and tried to subside them this time, and it worked for the most part. Sure she felt pretty tired afterwards, but on each patrol Momo kept alert and ready for action. As for weight loss, this routine seemed to only maintain her current weight. No good.

Her next routine was much better. She only ate on days where she was on patrol. In addition, she only ever ate exactly six hours before each patrol. That way her body would have time to digest everything. She wouldn't look bloated and she could use all the lipids in her body as she scoured her area. On these days she went to the gym only once. On her days off, she would go twice. This helped her weight loss move much faster than before. She was pleased.

She had not yet reached her goal, but maybe if she kept it up long enough she would finally be an appropriate size for people to not feel disgusted by her. She couldn't let people see her like this. How could she do that to her mother? To the rest of her family? To her friends? To Shoto?

Shoto and Momo were just beginning their relationship. Momo is not sure what she could call it yet. He wasn't her boyfriend just yet, nor was he just a friend. They had long passed the crushing phase. He knew she liked him, and she knew he liked her too. In any case, their relationship was hopefully going somewhere. How would Shoto feel about her if she was still this big? She would have to wait a while longer before they took it any further. They were pro heroes now, almost all of Japan was going to notice if they started seriously dating. She couldn't let Shoto be seen with such an ugly body next to him.

Here was new motivation. She wouldn't let anyone down.

This was Shoto's second afternoon patrol with Momo for the month. In the past few moths it was not often that he went with her but they had gone on patrol a lot together when they first started at Hawks' agency. Since then it's been a year and the shifts have changed a lot. Before this month, he went with Deku or Kirishima, but since there had been a temporary altercation in shifts this particular month, to adjust for winter being near, Shoto and Momo's patrols coincided. He was glad, somehow time always flew by peacefully when he was with her. No matter what sort of villains and petty thieves they faced during this time, he didn't feel so drained afterwards.

Right now they were on the roof of an apartment building. They always liked to scout from above. It was effective when looking across a wide area, and nobody would notice them very much. Though, during their last patrol, and strangely enough even during this one, Momo hadn't seemed like herself. Of course, she was still focused, still vigilant, but she seemed a lot more upset. Maybe not upset, but Shoto could not quite place it. The circles under her eyes seemed darker. Right now she gripped her staff tightly, as if she was strained and didn't want to lose concentration at all. Not only that, but Momo seemed... thinner? Maybe he was being too presumptuous, maybe he's being creepy, but he knows what Momo looks like and she hasn't always looked like this.

She's still the same beautiful person in his eyes. The one who's always on top of things with kind intention and the desire to do good. She's still the most beautiful girl he's ever laid his eyes upon. But the same smile he'd seen before doesn't sit on her perfect face, and that is unsettling to him. Shoto decides Momo has been too stressed lately, and plans to help her out.

"Hey guys, we can take it from here," a familiar voice sounds behind them. Shoto checked his watch, almost not noticing it was already evening. Momo and Shoto, previously sitting atop the apartment building, now stood up to greet the voice behind them seeing Deku and Uravity ready for action.

"Thanks Deku. So far we haven't seen anything suspicious. Let us know if you need backup later on," Momo informed them and soon enough she and Shoto were back at the agency where they changed and got ready to head home. Just outside the door to the building, Shoto stopped the creation hero.

"Wait, Momo," he held and hand up to the girl walking in front of him and walked over to her. "Do you want to go out somewhere this evening? So far we don't have a report to write so the evening's free." Shoto put an awkward hand behind his head. Fine, maybe he was just doing this to spend time with her, but he really did want to help her relax a bit. I mean who knows if she's just going to hop back on top of work once she gets home. He knows how Momo can get. She was always the one up studying at all hours of the night for exams back in UA, and he knows how much effort she puts into being a pro.

"Sorry Shoto, I think the only thing I'll be able to do tonight is crash on my bed," she looked at him with tired eyes nonetheless trying to keep awake, "maybe we can go another time."

Shoto frowned. She looked so drained, he hated letting her go home like this without being able to help. "Why don't you sleep at my place then, we have to come back together tomorrow for night patrol anyways so you can leave your car here for the night and we can come in tomorrow together."

Momo stared at him, slightly confused by his persistence. They've done this many times when they went on patrol together since his apartment was much closer to the agency. And gosh, Momo was so dizzy right now she wanted nothing more than to take up his offer. Her head was spinning like crazy, and she knew it was the fact that she'd pushed herself to train right before a patrol, but they hadn't even encountered a villain today. She's been tired all day.

She felt like something was pounding her at her temple, she almost couldn't see straight when she was coming back to the agency, but she thought it was just another feeling of vertigo. Somehow it still plagued her even now. Was Shoto still there? Maybe she will take him up on his offer. Momo puts her hand up and is about to respond to him when she jerks forward all of a sudden. Was the ground getting closer? Who the heck is that loud person calling her name in the background? Oh, Shoto's lifting her up. Why is Shoto lifting her up? Oh who cares... Shoto smells really nice...

The next time Momo woke up, she was lying on a bed in a bright room and she could hear noise in the background. Turning her head, she saw Shoto talking to a lady dressed in white, a nurse. She was in the hospital? What had happened for her to get here? Shoto looks worried as he talks to the nurse and she groans internally.

"She's stable and should wake up very soon, but her blood sugar levels are tremendously low. It's possible Creati hasn't been eating as much as she should for a pro hero at work," the nurse informs Shoto briefly about her condition. When he saw her collapse in front of the building he had nothing else in his mind but to get her to a hospital. He'd stopped her from hitting the ground but he couldn't stop calling out out to her hoping she would wake up. Hearing this from the nurse was a bit shocking to Shoto. He always thought Momo had a healthy lifestyle. She trained just as much as she went to the gym. Though it is true he hasn't seen what her eating patterns were like.

Back in UA he knew she was always a fan of tea, but that's about all he knew. "When she wakes up, get her something to eat and ask her what else she's eaten today. The doctor says it will be fine if she's discharged tonight. It may be minor now but something like this could happen again if her blood sugar levels continue to be this low. He recommends..." he listens to the nurse ramble on about what could get his Momo back to health again and took out his phone to ensure that he notes every detail. Shoto thanks the nurse and heads back into the room where he sees she's finally woken up. Momo looks exhausted, and something in his heart drops when he sees her. There is no way he is letting her go home like this.

"The doctor said you can be discharged. You can talk to her on the way out, but I'm taking you to my place for the night," Shoto is already gathering her things to get ready to leave and call the nurse back. Momo looks over at him distressed, she doesn't want to burden him this way.

"Shoto you don't have to do that. Really, I can get home fine on my own," but the half-and-half hero is determined at this point. Is Momo so stressed she's not eating properly? Is that why she'd been so tired? She'd always pushing herself and trying to go beyond. Plus Ultra, as they say. She's so busy worrying about the people around her, so busy protecting others and never missing a beat. She may not know, but he sees her neglecting herself for others. Another one of the things he admires so profoundly about her but is now beginning to really hate. He knew it, and he knows their relationship is only obscurely defined right now, but he wants to be the one protecting her while she tries so hard to do the same for others.

So no. He's not letting her go home tonight. Whether she can get there fine or not. He doesn't say anything to her before he vacates the room and calls the nurse again.

On the drive home, Shoto is silent while Momo sits beside him. She still feels tired but she can't find it in herself to sleep again. He hasn't said a word to her ever since they left the hospital. They usually speak so freely with one another. A pit of guilt rests to fill her empty stomach. Why did her body have to betray her now of all times when she was trying to hard to fight it? She decides to break the silence and apologize.

"Todoroki, I'm really sorry you had to do this," she apologised.

He glances at her from the drivers seat, almost taking his eyes off the road when she uses his last name. Does she really feel that guilty? They've passed last name basis a long time ago. "Don't worry about it, it's not your fault. You must be really stressed lately from what the doctor said."

Oh yes. What the doctor said. Momo understood what he was saying, she knew exactly why she'd collapsed an hour ago. Sure, Momo knew her methods of losing weight were not the best, but it was effective. She remembers all the times her mother complimented her figure when she was younger after she'd been dieting for months. It was always rewarding when it payed off. So yes, her weight-loss methods were unhealthy, and she never expressed that to anyone because the last time she mentioned it to someone they seemed worried and she couldn't stand it. But she could not let her mother down, and she couldn't let Todoroki down either.

She looked down at her thighs. They were so big. She can't imagine what it must've been like to carry her to his car. She must've felt so heavy. He must've been so annoyed with her. She winces from the thought of it. Only another reason for her to try harder.

Shoto stops the car in the parking lot of a grocery store. "Just wait here for a moment, I'll be right back," he closes the door and heads inside, opening up the list of food items on his phone that the nurse called out for him earlier. He was back in the car with her shortly after, and Momo notices the bags of cooking supplies he brought.

"Are you planning a cookout soon Todoroki?"

Again with the last name! Shoto replies to her. "No, these are for a soup I'm planning to make for us tonight to go with dinner. They're all the things the nurses said would be good for you to regain your strength."

Momo's eyes widen. "Shoto you don't have to go to all this trouble surely, I'm fine," she says waving her hands in the air.

Finally. He stops the car at the red light and turns to her for a moment, "I realized you're always getting ahead of yourself trying to worry about others. So just this once, let me worry about you." The light changed colours again and Shoto went back to face the road.

Momo couldn't help but blush. She was not upset about his gesture, what she was upset about though was the fact that she had to break her routine. If she'd known Shoto was going to cook for her she wouldn't have eaten anything this morning and she'd have known to train harder. She can't eat this evening, she wasn't allowed to, not until tomorrow.

The two had at last reached the parking lot at Shoto's apartment building. Momo wanted to help Shoto with the bags but she stopped when she realized he'd already taken all of them and was walking towards the entrance. He looked a bit funny actually waddling towards the glass doors with so many in his hands. In any case, she wanted to complain and ask him not to make anything tonight. She was grateful to him already for taking her to the hospital, he didn't need to do all of this. They were at the door to his apartment and Shoto, skilled as he is, was able to type in the password to unlock the door simultaneously holding at least three bags in hand.

"You remember where the spare bedroom is right? You can take a nap if you need to and I'll get dinner started," he smiled at her before heading to the kitchen to start. Shoto was never an amazing cook, but after nearly a year of cooking for himself, under Fuyumi's guidance and recipe suggestions of course, he would say he's improved enough to make a decent meal for Momo to feel at ease with.

"Shoto I really don't feel like eating anything tonight, besides I'm already staying over for the night-"

"Remember what they said? Your blood sugar levels are too low, something like this could happen again if we're not careful."

"But really, I don't want to cause you so much trouble. I really appreciate everything you did tonight but you must be tired too-"

"It's no trouble, I promise. I want to take care of you."

There he goes again, that stupid Shoto Todoroki charm. Momo sighs, almost panicking and wondering how she'll get out of this. She takes a seat at the kitchen island, watching him wash the vegetables. Okay, vegetables weren't so bad. Carrots, fifty-three calories; bell peppers, thirty calories; bok choy, nine calories. That wasn't so bad. Then Shoto took out the soba noodles from the bag. Of course he has soba noodles. Those would be about one hundred calories, and the sesame oil he was going to use was even more than that.

"My stomach's starting to hurt a lot, so I'm going to lie down," she makes the movement to get up and he's already by her side.

"Where does it hurt? I think there's a pressure point-"

"It's fine, I'll just be in the spare bedroom," she walks briskly over to the hallway and into the room where she closes the door. She would just have to fake being sick for the night and hopefully Shoto would just leave her alone.

Shoto, on the other hand, has no intention of doing so. He plans to make sure Momo relaxes tonight, and tomorrow for that fact before they go back to the agency. He just wants her to have some peace out of everything she'd been doing, and honestly, he's more than happy to do that for her. Preparing the meal only takes him about twenty-five minutes. He lays everything out on the table before taking a picture and sending it to Fuyumi as he does whenever he prepares a meal she taught him how to make. After that he heads over to a closet near the corridor to find some clothes that Momo can change into so she can feel comfortable. Fuyumi often comes over to Shoto's place and ends up spending the night there, so she's left a few pieces of sleepwear here that Shoto has packed neatly into one of the spare closets. He's sure his sister won't mind if Momo borrows some for the night.

He walks with a large t-shirt in hand to the spare bedroom where Momo said she would be and knocks lightly on the door before opening it. "Hey, I brought you a change of cl-"

Momo almost squeals in surprise when he comes in while her shirt is off. She was examining her body in the mirror. It's something she does a lot so that she can check on her progress, and Shoto's walked right in on it. For a moment he eyes her upper body. Her ribs were protruding slightly from her abdomen and he hadn't noticed how much weight she'd lost on her arms. Her muscles were toned around her body, but she looked thinner than usual. Momo quickly moved to get her shirt on the bed but by this time Shoto already closed the door, and is standing outside with a palm over his mouth.

Has she always been this small? Certainly not in his opinion. When he'd first encountered her at UA, before the dorms, she was pretty small then that's for sure, but now...

He didn't take notice of it before because he thought she was just being kindly stubborn like she usually is, but Momo has been trying to get away from eating dinner all night. For a while now Shoto has been trying to put together Momo's current disposition, falling on all sorts of theories and settling on one that assumed she was stressed. It made enough sense at the time but there were always small holes that were missing. Now the pieces were starting to fall into place. Her weariness during work days, her drowsiness after patrols, the way she always said she had to go to the gym, the doctor's comment about her malnourishment... It hurts him to think it, it hurts him to admit it, it hurts him to see it. He's heard of situations like this before, who knew it could plague someone so dear to him.

When Shoto looks back now, he feels like he cannot remember the last time he saw Momo actually have a meal. He's seen her have tea, nibble on small snacks but never actually eat something. This has to have been going on for a long time for her to have lost this much weight. Has he misread the situation completely? Shoto allows about two minutes to pass before he knocks a bit harder on the door again. "I'm coming in," he says.

"I brought something for you to change into so you could be more comfortable. It's just some of Fuyumi's clothes. I'm sure she wouldn't mind," he hands her the sleepwear and she takes it.

"Thank you..." she doesn't know what to say. He saw her almost half naked.

"Dinner is finished, you can come out whenever you like."

Ah, right... Dinner.

"Wait, Shoto I-"

"I'll see you at the table." He didn't need to hear another excuse to get out of something as simple as having a meal. He felt horrible. Knowing the girl he's in love with has been doing something like this to herself for who knows how long. He's been been making assumptions about problems that are much bigger than he thought. Why is she doing this to herself? Has someone been making her think she had to do this? In any case, he was done assuming. Even now he was being presumptuous about Momo perhaps having an eating disorder, but now he would find out for sure.

Shoto sat in his seat at the dining table staring between the small bowl of soup across from him and the other dishes across the table. He thought about how he should approach her, or if he should even approach her at all. What does he do at a time like this? Should he leave her alone?

But he couldn't just stand aside and watch her do this to herself!

But this wasn't any of his business, what if he oversteps his boundaries.

But this was his friend. In fact, she was something a bit more than that...

But what if she thinks differently? She may not think it his place.

But Shoto Todoroki is a hero. What was he if he could save the lives of people unknown to him but not the lives of the ones he loved most.

What was he really if he couldn't do even that? Being a hero never meant standing aside and waiting for someone to give you permission to help them.

So he wouldn't stand aside. No matter what she said to deter him, as she has been all evening. He will help, and he won't stop trying.

He faintly heard the door to the guest bedroom creak open and soon Momo emerged from the hallway dressed, in the clothes that Shoto gave to her, and sat in her seat. He was nervous, he didn't want to startle her, so he just went with the flow. He smiled at her, and said his thanks before picking up the chopsticks.

"I hope you enjoy everything. It's a dish that Fuyumi taught me to make," he explained while digging in himself. He glanced up ever so slightly, just to see if she would take a bite, but she kept looking down at the plates.

Calories.

That's all this was. That's all that her mind could see. Just more fat to add to her body if she only consumed it.

She couldn't. Momo didn't know how she was going to tell Shoto that she couldn't eat all of this but she had to. She couldn't do it, not even to pick up the spoon for goodness' sake. Momo had faced some tough villains in her life and fought through even tougher battles and situations, but in this moment, now, in the face of her worst enemy, she could not stand one more second here.

When Momo was younger, she'd come up with this plan; not eating, so that she wouldn't feel so fearful about how she looked to others. After explaining it to only one person before, a middle school friend, Momo learnt that generally, people would not support her plan, even though it was the only plan she thought would work as effectively as she wanted it to. So she never told anyone after that, and always kept it to herself. No one would notice, and no one has noticed so far enough to try to stop her. Okay, maybe Uraraka and Jirou and a few of her other friends from UA have questioned her once or twice but she's learned and gone through the motions to keep everyone's suspicions low. She couldn't bother people with her situation. It was something personal.

So what has she done wrong here that has caused her to get into these circumstances? Momo has been so exhausted lately, maybe because she's just started again and this time, she went a bit more extreme with her plan. She was older now. Bigger. Fatter. There was no other choice than to restrict her eating further and increase her output to get back to a normal weight.

Surprisingly, she'd never gotten herself into a situation like this one before, where she's been face to face with someone around food she hasn't asked for or made for herself. Momo has always been cautious about eating around other people. Maybe because she's been tired, she hasn't been able to think clearly, and thus she wasn't able to avoid this situation of eating with Shoto. It couldn't be helped now, she is here and she still hasn't eaten anything. She has also rambled on long enough. In any case, couldn't eat any of this food.

"Shoto, I hate to say this to you, but I can't eat anything right now. I'm sorry for making you go to all this trouble," she bowed slightly.

"Is it not to your liking? I can get you something else," Shoto placed his chopsticks down. He thinks he understands that she wants to get out of this. He doesn't want to assume anything as he has ignorantly been doing, but he saw the way she eyed the food on the table, even the small bowl of soup he'd made for her. He must persist though, he can already tell the arguments she will bring up. A part of him thinks that if she eats something now, then maybe his heart won't feel so heavy, and maybe he will realize that Momo is fine and he had no reason to worry, and she will be okay...

"It won't be an issue. You haven't eaten since this afternoon so I imagine you must be starving."

Momo didn't say a thing. He's being so considerate of her. He is always so kind, she felt horrible for doing this but she couldn't eat. Could she just tell him? And maybe he would understand?

"Shoto..." she started, but then she looked down at the food. Her worst nightmare always looked so good, tempting her on every occasion. You're not supposed to give into temptation, she knew.

But maybe just this time.

"You're right, I am a bit hungry. Don't worry, thank you for the food," Momo said finally forcing herself with all her might to pick up the spoon next to her bowl and take a sip of the soup. It's warmth travelled down her throat and settled all at once in her stomach. It was comforting. After the first bite, it got a little less harder to eat more. She thought she heard Shoto sigh, but looking back up she saw that he just went back to eating his own food.

He breathed now. Shoto didn't even realize he had a breath to hold. He was a bit more relieved now, but not everything he though before was true. He wasn't convinced Momo was okay. In fact after that, he was sure she definitely wasn't. She hasn't smiled like he knows her to, or spoken freely like she usually does. She has been very hesitant about the food she's been picking up since she started eating, examining it briefly before taking a bite and drinking water after every bite. Shoto is convinced that Momo may have an eating disorder, but he could not confront her about it yet.

What happened tonight was already bad enough, and he couldn't let it get any worse. Maybe she would tell him what was going on soon enough. He wanted her to be able to trust him. Hopefully he could do that much. For now though, he was just glad he could offer her some sort of comfort. Momo was beautiful, the most beautiful girl he had the honour of laying his eyes upon. So much more existed about her that made him love her so much. There was no reason for her to do this to herself, and step by step, little by little, he wanted to try to make sure she knew that.

In the morning, Momo was awake at 5am. She didn't feel as exhausted as she had felt the day before, though her head was still pounding. She headed to the bathroom to wash her face, and after that didn't help she decided she just needed more sleep. Momo opened the door to go back to the guest bedroom but then caught a glimpse of herself in the full length mirror. at the door to the bathroom. She saw herself bloated. She felt heavy, and full. She shouldn't have eaten. Momo makes mistakes a lot. She won't make this one again.

Just then Shoto rounded the corner of the corridor and stopped when he noticed the bathroom light was on, and the door open. He caught a glimpse of Momo looking at herself in the mirror. He saw her pull the t-shirt around her waist to recognize her figure, and he saw her frown. She was really upset just from looking at herself?

What in the world?

"You're beautiful you know," he came to the foot of the door and faced her. Momo couldn't stop herself from jumping. He started her, but he looked so calm standing there, and then it registered what he just said.

"Shoto?"

"I'm just saying it because you are, I hope that wasn't weird." But it was totally weird, at least he felt it was. Shoto scratched the back of his head awkwardly, about to apologize.

Momo's cheeks turned a furiously dark shade of red but she also felt really sad. He just said she was beautiful, how could he... after she gave into temptation all of last night? After she recognized her stomach bulging after eating so much? She wasn't beautiful, he mother would be so disappointed in her after telling her time and time again that she can't eat so much or else she'll gain too much weight and she'd be too fat and she was already too big in the first place.

Why did he say that to her?

Was he mocking her? Really?

Momo's mother always told her the truth even when she didn't want to hear it. Nevertheless, Momo didn't think Shoto would lie to her. Was he telling the truth? She heard him try to apologize again but-

"It's okay," she said before he could say another word. "Thank you," she smiled at him softly, ensuring he knew she appreciated the compliment.

His embarrassment slowly disappeared, and he smiled back. Suddenly he remembered why he was awake in the first place. "I have to go out now for a morning run, I'll see you in about thirty minutes," he backed away from the bathroom door.

"Okay, I think I will get some more sleep before I go," she finally walked out after taking a final glance in the mirror and headed back to the bedroom, "have a great run," she smiled at him almost awkwardly.

"Will you stay for breakfast?" Shoto's gaze went half-serious. He needed her to stay a bit longer, she can't go just yet.

Momo looked at him, pondering the offer for longer than she'd have liked to. She just said she wouldn't eat again. She just learned from her mistake. She couldn't indulge herself again but...

"I think I will. If you would have me of course," she finally replied. He was pleased with the response, but something inside Momo wasn't. She just had to say one thing. "No." She had one job. Momo knew it was the right answer, she would finally learn from her mistake. She could hear her mother's words in the back of her mind, imagining what people would think of her if she continued doing this. You're supposed to avoid temptation, Momo knew this. She was already fat, already big, already heavy. She was shameful in the least, the way she just choked down a bunch of food last night and now she was coming back for more? For what? She was only giving in more and more and this is exactly how she lost track of her weight in the first place when she was at UA in the dorms. When every day the students were provided with food and encouraged to eat so that they could grow and become good heroes. It's because she indulged in all of this, that when she went back home every single time, she would be back to square one. The same fat, ugly, full feeling that she despised to much.

Despite all of these facts splayed out in front of her, Momo didn't want to take back what she said.

"Will you stay for breakfast?" It echoed in her head, the question that she answered incorrectly.

She knew she had to say no, she knew it was the right answer, she would learn from mistake this way, but...

Just one more time?

I'm trying to improve my writing so please tell me if there is any way that I can improve this.
