After putting on his spare pair of glasses, Bruce read the letter written in runes. "Dearest Bruce, This is going to sound terrible, but you are not the man I love. I really wanted to see him inside you, but I can't. I loved the silly things he did like breaking rocks with his head. I miss hunting with him. I loved watching him work - the movement of his arm muscles when he split lumber - you don't excite me like he did. You and Dagmar belong on Misgard since you were both born here. I can't live with a man who takes medicine to keep my husband away and is now taking a metal bird to find out if there is a way to kill my husband. So this is good-bye. Sif."

Bruce cried. Later, he would change into the Hulk and get his anger out. Right now, he needed to cuddle his baby girl. He found Kitty pushing Dagmar on a baby swing.

"Are you OK?" asked Kitty.

"Sif said she couldn't live with someone, who takes medicine to keep her husband away and is looking into ways to kill her husband," Bruce explained.

"I'm so sorry," said Kitty. "What are you going to do now?"

"Stay here and teach," said Bruce. While pushing the swing, he saw Jimmy and Hank enter the school. "Mr. Worthington called Dr. McCoy his pet mutant and I decided a bigot couldn't be allowed to control a serum that can cure mutations. I shouldn't have decided that on my own, but my emotions got the better of me."

"Everyone at this school thanks you," said Kitty.

"You saved me," said Bruce. "I was returning the favor."

"The serum is destroyed?" asked Kitty.

"And all the notes," said Bruce. "I'm sure Tony destroyed any off-site copies."

"I saw Sif leave." Jubilee asked, "She isn't coming back, is she?"

After taking Dagmar out of the swing, Bruce walked back inside the building. Then he changed her diaper. A few of the students that didn't have homes to go to over the summer were in the kitchen while Bruce put Dagmar into her high chair then fed her mashed banana and oatmeal. Kitty should have gone home to her parents, but stayed to watch Dagmar.

"I'll need to buy formula," said Bruce. "Jubilee, do you want to watch Dagmar for me? I need to release some anger. Kitty, you can monitor the Hulk. If he tries anything, you phase."

Kitty swallowed hard. "Phase. Got it."

"There is an a abandoned quarry not too far away. Rock smashing would be good about now," said Bruce.

"Logan should come along," said Kitty.

"Rogue and Logan need some alone time." Bruce was spoon-feeding Dagmar while talking to Kitty. His daughter's toothless grin told him she loved bananas.

"Dr. Banner, I'm so sorry about your wife," said Kitty.

"Kitty, get Hank," said Bruce. "After I get my anger out, he can talk the Hulk down. My therapist says I need to let my emotions out the same as anyone else."

"That was so sweet what you did for Rogue," said Kitty.

"I owned her and I don't like being in anyone's debt," Bruce said, trying to be modest. "I wasn't planning on destroying the lab at the time. Mr. Worthington pushed my buttons. I acted on my emotions. I just hope Mr. Stark doesn't get in trouble because he supported my actions."

Kitty said, "Mr. Stark would do anything for you."

Bruce blushed. "His actions changed my behavior from me being public enemy number one that needed to be subdued by the national guard to me just being another crazy person acting out. I'll never be able to thank him enough."

"He loves you," said Kitty.

A scientist or two at Worthington Laboratories had mentioned Dr. Banner by name. A program on CNN had an empty green chair sitting in for Dr. Robert Bruce Banner. Since the news had photos, Bruce could lay low at the school until the hype blew over or he could go on TV and tell his side. TV cameras made him nervous and deep-breathing the Hulk away was only a little better than appearing on television stoned. He needed to talk to Tony the sooner the better. Tony knew all about dealing with the press.

Out of the blue, Bruce got a call from Jane. Wasn't she usually in Asgard this time of year? It must have been about Sif. "Hi, Jane."

"How are you managing?" asked Jane.

"CNN and Fox News act like me not appearing on TV means I'm ashamed of my actions," said Bruce. "I saved my students and all other mutants from being vaccinated. I would do it a hundred times over. I'm going to talk to Tony about helping me get over my stage fright. Do you have any news regarding Sif?"

"She was seen with the Warriors Three and doesn't appear to be missing you or the baby," said Jane. "Any minute I'm away from my Tammy she is all I think about. Thor spoke to her. I can give him the phone. Watch your ears. He still doesn't grasp the concept of indoor voices."

Bruce put the phone away from his ear. "Go ahead."

"Hello, Friend Bruce," said Thor.

"Did you see Sif?" asked Bruce.

"She and Volstagg have been seen at your house," said Thor. "She sharing your house with Volstagg dishonors you and I told her as much."

"Did she slap you?"

"No, she said that she doesn't love Volstagg, but he will warm the bed during the long winter. I told her she is betraying her husband and she has no honor. She said that you let her big green husband out for a couple hours then you lock him inside you. You betray her."

"Did she say anything about the baby?"

"She said she needs so time away from the baby to think," said Thor.

"Seeing Dagmar helps me think," Bruce said, looking at his sleeping child. "She is a beautiful clear lake that opens my mind to the infinite. I look at my baby and see all the possibilities in the world."

"Even when she is crying," asked Thor.

"Then I change her diaper, feed her or play with her," said Bruce. "I worry that Dagmar doesn't cry enough. Crazy huh?"

"You see your baby and the world changes," said Thor. "I feel the way about Tamar."

"Sif isn't coming back," said Bruce. "Did Heimdall tell you I let the Hulk out to save my children from Worthington Labs? Sif must know I don't intend to kill the Hulk."

"The rainbow bridge is fixed," said Thor. "You won't change into the Hulk when you cross now. She begged Odin to restore you to one person. She said it is like her husband is dead, yet, still alive. She cried at his feet."

"Before or after she invited Volstagg into our house?"

"Before," said Thor.

"That makes me feel a bit better." Not really, but with the rainbow bridge fixed her husband ceased to exist. Bruce wasn't the man she had know as her husband and neither was the Hulk. The baby woke crying, so Bruce put her in his arms. "I'm messed up, definitely insane, but I'm me. I like me."

"Odin told her that it wasn't her place to ask. I wish I had better news."

"Give the phone back to Jane." Too numb by all he heard to cry or become angry, Bruce talked to Jane a bit longer. Then he changed his baby's diaper. After feeding Dagmar and changing into his magic purple pants, he gave Dagmar to Kitty and went to the danger room to use Program: Hulk Smash.
