A/N: 5th chapter! YAY! Writer..gods: I really don't think Harry would say that just to get Ron to be his friend again. In the first story, even Severus had a hard time getting it out of Harry because Harry doesn't like talking about it. So, if Sev had to practically force him to let everything out, do you really think it'll be different with Ron? Sorry..just had to show it to you from my POV..ANYWAYS! 5th chapter! :) I've magically gone forward in time to the beginning of Harry's second year. Lockhartis in this chapter..*sigh* oh poor Harry...

Chapter 5

Harry smiled as he sat down next to Hermione in the Great Hall. But a frown appeared on his face when he saw her looking angry.

"Reckon you've read the Daily Prophet?" she asked.

He looked blankly at her.

She huffed. "About Lockhart!"
"Oh right!" Harry said, remembering instantly.

A few days ago, Harry had read in the Prophet that Lockhart had apparently claimed to have been under the influence of the Imperius Curse on the night of Voldemort's return. Alot of people had actually bought it, including...

"The nerve of Dumbledore! Hiring that idiot!" Hermione huffed again. "What does Professor Snape think of it?"

"He wasn't too sure. I mean it could be possible right? Anyway, we're keeping an eye on him this year," Harry said.

"Prehaps you're right, but I'll watch him too," Hermione said.

At that moment, Harry felt a prickle on the back of his neck that could only mean one thing: someone was observing him. Casually, he turned his head to look at the staff table. Nobody was looking his way. He shuddered, then went back to eating.

"Well, what have you found out, you fool?" Bellatrix snapped.

Lockhart had to take several precautions when he'd snuck out of the castle that night to meet the Death Eaters and Voldemort.

"I found out that Harry looks good in Gryffindor robes," Lockhart smiled cheerfully.

"Anything useful, Lockhart?" Bellatrix said, her patience wearing thin.

"Oh, he hangs out with that Granger girl alot," Lockhart said.

"I must be dead. Lockhart's actually given us useful information for once," Lucius sneered.

"Oh! I found out something else!" Lockhart squealed excitedly.

"Yes?" Voldemort hissed.

"Harry looks good in Gryffindor robes," Lockhart said, a goofy smile on his face.

"I should've known it would be too good to be true," Bellatrix snarled irritably.

"Harry, are you allright?" Hermione asked as Harry looked behind him for the umpteenth time.

"Yeah, it's just, all day I've been feeling like someone's..I dunno..following me? Spying on me? Watching me? It's freaking me out, Hermione!" Harry glanced around again.

"Maybe you should tell Professor Snape," Hermione said.

"He doesn't need to be worried with this. I'm being paranoid. Cmon, we're gonna be late for Potions."

Severus watched as Harry and Hermione hurried in just seconds after class had begun.

"Sorry, Professor, we were held up by...something," Hermione hesitated.

Severus's eyes bored into her for a moment, and then his gaze turned to Hary. "I'll let you both off with a warning. Don't let it happen again Miss Granger," he hissed.

Harry and Hermione slunk to their desks.

"Now, as I was saying, today we will be making a simple little potion called Felix Felicis. Can anybody tell me what this particular potion is?"

Hermione's hand shot into the air.

"Let me rephrase that," Severus said with a sigh, "Does anybody besides Miss Granger know the answer?"

Hermione's hand went down.

"I think I know, sir," Harry said.

Severus rose his eyebrows. "Mister Potter?"

"Now forgive me if I'm wrong, but I think it's a..good luck potion?" Harry asked uncertainly.

"Correct, Mister Potter, five points to Gryffindor," Severus said with a smile.

Harry beamed, and turned to Hermione. "I did it!" he mouthed at her. She gave him a polite thumbs up.

Ron turned around and sneered at him. "Smartass," he mouthed.

Harry looked away, blinking rapidly. Why was Ron being such a-

"Ten points from Gryffindor and a detention with me tonight, Mister Weasley."

"For what?" Ron asked, trying to play innocent.

"Don't think I didn't see what you did, Mister Weasley. Keep arguing and you're getting a week's worth of detention! I'll not stand for this behavior of yours in my class!" Severus growled.

"Fine! Just keep it up, Snape! I don't give a damn what you say or do!" Ron retorted back.

"Oy, Ron, why don't you shut up?" Harry snapped angrily.

"Why don't you, you stupid git!" Ron bellowed, and then hurried ot of the dungeons.

"MISTER WEASLEY!" Severus roared, his temper fully aroused. "YOU ALL WILL SIT QUIETLY UNTIL I RETURN, OR FACE HORRIFYING CONSEQUENCES!" Severus hurried out, he'd had enough of Ron Weasley.

A/N: ugh..stupid Ron..
