Chapter 7
"Professor?" Harry had just entered the Headmaster's office.
"Harry! I'm really sorry, mate! It's just, he's a Slytherin, and I'm supposed to be your best mate, and...ok fine! I'm jealous! I admit it!" Ron said, tears in his eyes.
"Oh, Ron, you don't have to be jealous," Harry said gently to his best friend.
"You mean, you don't hate me for life?" Ron asked tearfully.
"Nah," Harry said, hugging his best friend. "Just try not to lose our House any more points."
Ron smiled, "Allright."

"What is it, Harry?" Ron asked. They were walking down the corridor to DADA.
"Nothing. It's just, all day I've had this weird feeling like someone's following me, ya know?"
"Hmm, probably just Fred and Geiorge playing jokes," Ron replied.
"Oh, I see you two've made up!" Hermione exclaimed.
"Where did you come from?" Harry asked.
"Nevermind that. Harry, I've been doing a little sneaking of my own, and I think I know who's following you around."
"Well, who is it?" Harry hissed eagerly.
"It's-"
"Hello all!" a familiar voice chimed.
"Hello, Professor Lockhart," the three tonelessly droned back.
"Tell me later, Hermione, we're gonna be late for Defence," Harry said, and they hurried off to catch up with their professor.

"Professor Snape! I'd like a word," Hermione gasped, catching her breath. She'd ran all the way to the dungeons to escape from Lockhart, who had been telling her many of his...tall tales.
"Yes, Miss Granger?"
"Someone's been following Harry around all day, and I can't get him alone to tell him who!"
Severus's face turned anxious in an instant. "You know who it is, Miss Granger? Tell me this instant!"
"It's-"
"Professor Snape! Draco Malfoy and Ron Weasley are dueling in the 2nd floor hallway!" Neville Longbottom panted as he finally found a teacher.
"This'll have to wait, Miss Granger," Severus said, hurrying after Neville and pulling out his wand.
