A/N: sorry I haven't updated recently...I've been busy..anyway NEXT CHAPTER! this is the part where the basilisk comes in! Harry hears its voice..scary...
Chapter 7
Harry was walking back to the Gryffindor Common Rooms when he heard it: the voice.
"Kill...Kill...Kill.."
Harry froze, looking around for the source of the voice.
"Kill..Kill..KILL! KILL!"
Harry ran down the hallway, trying to put as much distance as he could between himself and the voice. That was when he ran into-
"Severus!" Harry gasped.
"Harry, what is it? What's wrong?" Severus asked, looking anxiously at his son.
"I-I heard a voice! It said it was going to kill. It didn't say who," Harry's voice trembled.
"Show me," Severus said.
"Do I really have to go back down that hallway?" Harry squeaked fearfully. Hermione had once told him that even in the Wizarding World, hearing voices wasn't a good sign, and the voice hadn't exactly sounded friendly.
"Harry, I'll be right behind you. I promise," Severus said gently.
Harry nodded, walking slowly back down the hall in which he'd come from. When he turned left at the corner, he nearly screamed in terror.
"Harry, wha-?" Severus froze in his tracks. Painted on the wall, in what was unmistakably blood, were the words THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS HAS BEEN OPENED. ENEMIES OF THE HEIR, BEWARE. Hanging just next to the ominous message was Filch's cat, Mrs. Norris, looking stiff and frozen.
"Get back to your Common Room, Harry. You shouldn't be here," Severus whispered quietly.
"Should I go get the Headmaster?" Harry asked shakily.
"No, I'll find Albus," Severus said, "Now go."
Harry was more than happy to oblige.
