AN: To say that I am happy to get all the reviews would be a huge understatement. I am absolutely thrilled. Thank you so much my lovely readers. This is another chapter hope you will like it...

Chapter 37: Meeting Elijah

According to my calculation the current timeline was in between the episode 'By the light of the moon' and 'The Descent' of season two. I have already asked Luka to deliver the message to Elijah rather confidently as well as bravely. It seemed more like I was requesting a meeting with an old friend whom I haven't seen for a long time. However now that I am finally waiting for Elijah to come to the falls, I was neither confident nor brave. Actually if I honestly express my feelings of the current moment, I was terribly scared and nervous to say the least. What if this meeting with Elijah goes horribly wrong and everything falls apart before I could do anything to stop it from happening? And there is this huge possibility that Elijah would turn against me and destroy everything that I have worked for so far. It was quite possible that I would end up in a dangerous situation with the original. I still stayed back to give Elijah a chance even though the thought of running away was tempting. And the thought of calling off the meeting crossed my mind several times already. I also had the real moonstone with me. And I knew I was taking a huge risk here. I was risking not only the moonstone but also the lives of everyone I am meant to protect. I along with everyone's lives are at stake right now. And only after this meeting I would be able to foretell the future of everyone here. Until then the current moment and the future is completely unpredictable, even to me.

I checked my wrist watch for the tenth time in last five minutes. Elijah should have shown up by now. I was getting paranoid slowly. Is he planning a surprise attack on me? No, Elijah wouldn't harm me, not now at least. He made a deal with Elena after all. Hurting me would break their deal. And Elijah is quite well known for keeping his words. However I knew that even Elijah could betray in vulnerable moments and that's what I was worried about. What if this meeting turns out to be one of those moments where Elijah would break his promise without feeling any hesitation. Well that wasn't entirely impossible. The mere thought threatened to increase my heartbeat. I was pacing restlessly, punching my fist in the palm of my other hand rapidly. What if Elijah thinks that I know too much and I am a danger to him? What if he decides to just kill me right here right now? God, I hate this anticipation.

"Where the hell is he?" I whispered to myself sounding quite impatient.

"Right here." A calm and composed tone of voice spoke up from behind me and answered the question. I instantly felt the hair on the back of my neck standing up straight. I literary gulped down my nervousness and it's highly possible that Elijah heard the sound of it. Thankfully I hadn't jumped up three feet high in the air when Elijah sneaked up on me. That would be very embarrassing considering the fact that I had asked him to meet me here. Damn vampires and their habit of sneaking up on humans like me. I turned around slowly to face Elijah. When our eyes met, I saw him looking at me with amusement in his eyes and a bit of confusion as well. I prepared to speak up but suddenly I lost all the words. Nothing was coming out of my mouth. Believe me I had rehearsed the entire meeting couple of times back home but now my tongue seemed to have paralyzed all on a sudden. I seriously wanted to slap myself at that moment. Understanding that I was momentarily unable to speak, Elijah started talking and still looked quite amused.

"So, Ms. Gilbert, I came as you requested" spoke up Elijah. This is the chance, this is the moment I have been waiting for and for quite sometime now. Its now or never. I took a deep breath and finally found the will to speak up.

"Thank you for coming Mr. Mikaelson." I said and I must admit that I was surprised at the tone of my own voice. I sounded more confident than I actually felt that moment. Elijah on the other hand was looking quite shocked. I guess because of hearing his real name coming out of my mouth. No one was supposed to know his surname in Mystic Falls. It was kind of hilarious really, seeing Elijah Mikaelson, the original vampire with a shocked expression on his calm and composed face.

"How do you know my last name?" Elijah didn't waste any time to ask that.

"You wouldn't believe me even if I tell you but I believe you want the real moonstone. That's what you are really here for, aren't you?" saying that I pulled the real moonstone out of my jeans pocket and held it in from of Elijah.

"Here it is?" I said. Elijah looked at the stone but he didn't snatch it away from my hand or made any movement to take it from me. He stared at the stone for a while then he looked at me. Elijah was trying to understand something. He was quietly calculating my expression and heartbeat. Perhaps he was suspecting a trap for him. After a while Elijah took the moonstone from my hand and tucked it inside his jacket pocket.

"I want to know how you know my name. What do you know about me?" Elijah asked and it was no way a request. I realized he wouldn't let me go anywhere unless I answer him. Truth to be told, I was beyond glad that he didn't take off right away after getting the moonstone. I couldn't appreciate it more that Elijah was interested in talking to me on his own.

"I know everything about you Elijah." I said and inhaled a deep breath because I really needed to calm myself down first before continuing this conversation.

"I know everything you know and even the things you don't know." I could tell that Elijah was getting more and more interested in listening to what I have to say and it was getting hard for him to be calm and patience.

"What do you know about me?" The original asked with an edge in his voice. Surely he had his doubts in his mind about me. I however looked confidently at him because with each passing minute I was getting less scared of Elijah.

"Let me tell you the basics first. You are Elijah Mikaelson; son of Mikael and Esther. You were turned into a vampire over a thousand year ago by your witch mother. You along with your siblings, Finn, Niklaus who is known as Klaus, Kol, and your only sister Rebekah are the first created vampires in the history of vampires therefore called the originals. Other vampires are descendants from you five. Am I correct?" I asked Elijah and answered myself.

"Of course I am."

To say that Elijah was shocked at the moment, would be the understatement of the century. No one in Mystic Falls knew this yet that Klaus is actually Elijah's half brother. Not even Rose knows this. Katherine perhaps knew about it but I wasn't sure about her knowledge. And I've never asked her either.

"How do you know about all this?" Elijah asked me again after getting over his shocked state.

"We should know each other first before I give you any explanation. It would help you understand everything better" saying that I started to walk slowly. Elijah started walking with me. Thank god he is such a patient guy. I know Elijah doesn't snap and kill. He thinks before he does unlike Klaus. I don't recall Elijah loosing his temper in the show.

"Well what can I say about myself? You obviously know everything about me already. I am the youngest Gilbert sibling Jacqueline. Sister of Elena Gilbert the Petrova doppelganger of course and Jeremy Gilbert. There is nothing more to tell about us that is relevant to this conversation. But you Mr. Elijah Mikaelson have quite an interesting family history. Very fascinating I must admit." I said and glanced at Elijah.

"I am listening" said Elijah shortly and urged me to continue.

"This is what I have learned about your history. A thousand years ago when you and your family members were still humans, you lived in this very place. Mystic Falls was your home that time. You liked it here and settled down with the other villagers. They were welcoming to you. Back then there was no such thing as vampire existing in this world, right?" Elijah simply nodded his head and craved to listen more.

"But of course that doesn't mean Mystic Falls was free from other supernatural beings. There were witches and there were werewolves as well. During each full moon you and your family had to hide inside the tunnels in order to stay safe and stay alive. After all even then werewolves had no control over their actions during the time they are turned." Elijah remained silent therefore I kept talking.

"Everything was going well for your family until one full moon your youngest brother Henrik died in a wolf attack." Elijah's eyes widened a bit at the mention of Henrik's name. However he didn't interrupt me.

"Your father Mikael decided to retaliate against the werewolves and your mother also didn't want to loose anyone else from her family. Esther was a powerful witch. Mikael asked her to do something so that all of you would turn stronger and faster, even more than the werewolves. Your mother's friend and mentor Ayana who was an ancestor of my friend Bonnie, suggested against the idea and refused to help Esther because what your mother was planning on doing was going against the balance of the nature. Your parents went ahead with the plan anyway. Esther performed a ritual and turned all her children into supernatural beings. You became unimaginably faster and stronger and immortal. Later your kind was named vampires, and you and your siblings were the very first ones." After saying that I paused a little. Neither of us were looking at each other. We simply kept walking straight. I spoke up once again when Elijah didn't say anything.

"After you became eternal beings, you were able to fight against the werewolves and do more than just protect yourselves. However as creating vampires was abusing the spirits of the nature, very soon it turned into a curse. Along with your strengths came weaknesses. Sunlight, vervain, abandonment by friends and neighbors, wooden stakes and most importantly blood lust. Fortunately for the originals they can't be killed by ordinary wooden stakes unlike common vampires. Only stakes made out of white oak tree wood could kill you and only if driven through the heart. But you took care of that problem a long long time ago." I said to Elijah. Of course I was going to keep the second tree a secret from Elijah. And he would probably never know that I have weapons that could literary kill him. I was finished with retelling Elijah his life history therefore I went silent and decided it's time for the original to speak.

"I am assuming you know a lot more than what you just told me" said Elijah without any doubt. I simply nodded to that as there was no denying it.

"I guess you want to know what I know about Klaus, right? Well, I know that he is your brother... from another father. A werewolf father to be exact." I said and I even shrugged my shoulders at Elijah nonchalantly. I realized that I was getting too much comfortable with the original than I should. I guess the credit goes to Elijah. He wanted me to be comfortable around him that's why I was.

"You know so much about me and my family and accurately so, I would be surprised if you didn't know that Klaus is a hybrid. Undoubtedly you must know the real use of the moonstone and why Klaus wants it so much" said Elijah sounding impressed, sort of.

"Yeah, I know about the curse on Klaus all right." I informed the original.

"And if I am not wrong you are the one who warned Katerina about my plan to use compulsion on her to make her hand over the moonstone and release you" stated Elijah. He figures out things quite fast.

"Guilty as charged." I said. I wasn't sure if Elijah was mad at me or not. It was hard to tell what he was feeling because his face was completely blank. There was no emotion showing off. Earlier if Elijah wasn't so shocked and stunned I would have never witnessed any reaction from him ever. I also realized that Elijah must be wondering why I helped Katherine. She was keeping me hostage after all. I expected Elijah to inquire about it but he didn't. Instead he asked me something else.

"I think we know each other well enough now. Tell me how did you learn of such information?" I knew I would be asked this question sooner rather than later. I also knew that at this point Elijah would believe anything I will tell him. Anyone in his place would, I guess. But still I made a perfect story for him.

"Shortly after my parents died, I tried to kill myself. I was depressed and life seemed too cruel to me." I looked at Elijah and saw him looking at me intensely.

"I died in that attempt."

"Then how are you still alive? Are you a ghost?" asked Elijah and I shook my head.

"No, I just came back to life. When I died, I went somewhere. It's called the other side. And someone was waiting for me there. It was your mother Esther. She told me about you and she is the one who sent me back. I have a task though that I need to full fill in due time. Otherwise my soul will never be free." Yes, It was half truth and half lie but that's the best explanation I could come up with. Besides, Elijah was buying it anyway, so why bother?

"What kind of task are you talking about?" Elijah asked with serious curiosity. I bit onto my bottom lip while thinking of a way to tell this to him properly. My hesitation got Elijah worried instantly.

"Well, lets just say, this is the part where I know things that even you don't know." I said and the original looked at me more seriously this time.

"What is it?" Elijah asked forcefully. I inhaled a deep breath before speaking up again.

"Look, I know that you were blindly loyal to Klaus for centuries and stood by him. Elijah, you did whatever Klaus asked you to do. However, at one point Klaus pushed you over the edge. It happened when he started killing off the rest of the family members. You turned against Klaus and started seeking revenge on him. And it's been going on since the time Katerina Patrova flee from you. You want to kill Klaus because you think he killed your other siblings. Am I correct?" I asked but Elijah had a distant and unfocused look on his face as if he was reliving the past that very moment.

"Yes, I did turn against Klaus and it was for Katerina. For the first time I was standing against him instead of being with him. That's when everything started going down between us." Elijah said that more to himself than to me.

"There is no denying that Katherine is indeed very good at turning brothers against each other. I guess it's her Patrova talent that I know started with Tatia, wasn't that her name? The originator of the Patrova line." Elijah nodded to that as well and didn't even look surprised that I knew about Tatia too.

"Klaus and I both fell in love with her even though she was already married once and had children with another man. That's why our mother sacrificed her and used her blood in the ritual that turned us into vampires. It eventually ended the feud between me and Niklaus and we realized that family above all." I was quite surprised that Elijah was opening up to me and sharing his life story with me.

"You haven't told me about your task yet." Elijah pointed out and I sighed out heavily.

"My task is quite simple actually. All I have to do is keep everyone here safe and alive. Though I must admit it's anything but an easy job especially in Mystic Falls. Too many supernatural beings here and everyone's trying to kill everyone." I said thoughtfully. Elijah suddenly frowned at me with confusion, well wow, he frowns too. Then realization came to him and Elijah looked somewhat shocked.

"Does it mean including Klaus? You need to keep Klaus safe as well" said Elijah and I simply nodded my head. He stared at me for a while with unreadable expression on his face.

"Do you work for Klaus?" Elijah asked me suddenly. It really shocked me into oblivion. How could he possibly think that? Oh right I was talking about keeping Klaus safe and alive. Without any hesitation I angrily glared at Elijah and even crossed my arms over my chest to make myself look strong. Elijah looked amused to say the least when I glared at him openly and didn't really get mad at me.

"Okay I got my answer. But why would mother want to keep Klaus safe? After all he killed everyone else" said Elijah trying to understand the motivation behind his mother's action. And clearly Elijah didn't know the truth.

"Well, first of all she is a mother. Besides, Klaus didn't really kill any of your siblings. He is just keeping them stored in coffins. I guess that's the easier way to keep everyone close to him. Klaus is quite paranoid about ending up all alone, isn't he? His love for his family makes him protective and sometimes overprotective which most of the time ends up with the scenario where one of his siblings is lying in a box with a dagger in the chest. And we both know that as soon as those daggers are out of Finn, Kol and Rebekah's chest, they will come back to life again. You will see them again." I said and Elijah was quite shocked to hear that.

"Are you really saying the truth? Klaus didn't throw them in the ocean like he said he did." Elijah spoke up with disbelieve in his voice. I shook my head vehemently to let him know that he was thinking correctly. Suddenly Elijah looked at me with overwhelming seriousness.

"You know I could compel you anytime. You better not lie about this." Elijah used his threatening tone of voice for the first time with me.

"I swear I am telling you the truth." I even crossed my heart. Elijah decided to believe me. I don't know why but good for me.

"Do you know where they are?" Elijah asked hopefully but much to his disappointment I had to shake my head at that.

"Only Klaus knows where your siblings are. I heard that he carries them with him everywhere he goes. And no one really knows where Klaus is, so no one really knows where your family is at the moment." I stated the reality.

"Well then I guess I have to wait for Klaus to come to Mystic Falls anyway" said Elijah already forming a plan in his head about how to get his family back from Klaus.

"And he is not gonna come anywhere near Mystic Falls as long as you are here. You probably don't know where Klaus is right now but he knows about your whereabouts. If I am not wrong Klaus is probably already making arrangements to kill you, well dagger you. He will come once you are not a problem anymore." I said and Elijah knew I was saying the truth. After all he knew Klaus better than anyone else.

"Then we have a problem, don't we?" said Elijah with a little smirk. I nodded my head.

"That we do." I said and we both started walking again. Elijah and I talked more about his family and what should we do to get them back. I guess finally it was safe to say that the meeting with Elijah didn't go terribly wrong after all. Actually it was great. Elijah seemed to be opening up to me more. He was telling me about his previous plans which I already knew about thanks to the show. Elijah was also letting me be a part of solving his problems which means he is trusting me enough and that's a lot more than what I asked for. With Elijah on my side, things should go smoothly and according to the plan.

Third Person's POV

As it happened in the show, Stefan started looking for Isobel. Clearly he didn't trust Elijah or the deal that Elena made with him. Besides, he didn't even know what the deal is. There was no way in hell Stefan would trust Elijah. He is an original after all and therefore he can't be trusted. Stefan asked Alaric for a number or any kind of address that might get him to Isobel. At that time, Damon stormed into the Grill and took off with Ric in rush. It confused Stefan to no limit however he knew one thing for sure that Damon was up to something, just didn't know what. He would find out soon one way or another. And Alaric is of course helping Damon with his dirty work once again. They were close that way. Stefan could only shake his head at their strange friendship.

On the other hand Ric got into the car with Damon where Rose was already sitting. She was still staying at the boarding house along with the Salvatore brothers as Rose had nowhere else to go. And she didn't want to run anymore. Besides she likes Damon and wanted to help him and Stefan with their situation with Elijah. Rose wanted to be Damon's friend and Damon liked the woman too however he didn't dare mention it to Jacqueline. Damon hasn't forgotten the sight of her bleeding hand yet. Last time Damon kissed Rose and Jacq was bleeding herself to death. God forbid if she learns that Damon actually likes Rose even though as a friend, who knows what she would do then.

Damon didn't even know if Jacq will take it well that Rose is still staying over at the boarding house and apparently getting closer to him. Therefore Damon didn't mention it to Jacq yet and wanted to keep it that way as long as possible. Damon has been keeping a lot of secrets lately not only from Jacqueline but from others as well. For example Jacq didn't know anything about Damon's trip with Rose and Ric. The three of them were going out of Mystic Falls to find some answers about Damon's vampire problem. Damon, Rose and Alaric searched for answers individually but unfortunately none of them found anything useful. Then Rose came up with an idea. There is a very ancient vampire named Elizabeth who Rose knew about. According to her, Elizabeth is the epitome of knowledge. She knew everything about everything.

Rose was quite hopeful that they would get at least something from Elizabeth. She must have heard something about what Damon is going through and tell them about it. Damon however wasn't hoping anything out of the trip. He already felt quite hopeless about finding out the explanation behind his strange problems. However Damon was desperate as well therefore he was willing to do anything possible and go anywhere in search for the truth. Because unless Damon gets some serious answers and know what is wrong with him exactly, he didn't want to go anywhere near Jacqueline and risk hurting her or maybe accidentally kill her even because of suddenly loosing control on himself. Damon almost did that already, more than once. He will never take any risk with Jacqueline, never.

Unlike Damon and Rose, the history teacher didn't really have any purpose to come along on this trip. But ever since Alaric learned about this weird thing that Damon is going through, he is interested to know more about it and wanted to get involved on his own. Not to mention Ric was worried about Jacqueline therefore he wanted to help Damon find out the truth as soon as possible and solve this problem. Damon is impulsive enough even when under complete control of himself. Ric can only imagine what he could do when out of control. Obviously nothing good can happen in that case. Damon pulled over the car in front of a huge mansion. That's the address Rose had of Elizabeth's.

"Show off" said Damon while looking at the mansion.

"Is this Elizabeth a luxury freak?"

"You have no idea" said Rose in reply. They got out of the car and started walking towards the entrance door. Where as Damon and Rose didn't look that stunned to see the mansion because obviously they had seen better places in their lives, Alaric on the other hand, seemed like a lost child in wonderland. He was looking around in awe. Only a vampire could afford such luxury. When the three of them reached the door, a maid opened it before they could ring the bell. It was clear that the maid was a vampire as well.

"Good day, gentlemen and my lady" said the maid with a little bow of her head.

"I assume you are here to meet Ms. Elizabeth." Rose nodded at that.

"Right this way please." The maid stepped aside to let them walk inside. She led them to the grand living room.

"Please wait here. Ms. Elizabeth would join you shortly" saying that the maid disappeared somewhere. Damon, Rose and Ric settled on the expensive couch to wait for the vampire. Alaric spoke up and broke the silence between them.

"How dangerous is she?" asked Ric to Rose with curiosity.

"Well, if you are friendly with Elizabeth, she is not a danger at all but if you do something unpleasing to her, you will die the most torturous death" replied Rose with nonchalant tone of voice. Ric nodded his head in understanding. Right then, a voice spoke up and got everyone's attention.

"Rose, what a pleasant surprise!" The three of them looked up and found a beautiful looking woman in her late twenties. She got the strangest looking eyes, blue with purple high lights. They look beautiful of course. Both Damon and Alaric were thinking perhaps Elizabeth is wearing contacts but it was real and they knew it too. Her pure blonde hair reached her shoulders. Yes, the ancient vampire is beautiful and dangerous as well. Her aura screamed both terror and gentleness. Anyone smart wouldn't want to mess with her just by one glance at her. At the moment, Elizabeth was looking gorgeous in her velvet dark green dress and she was standing tall with her head held high like supermodels on a ramp show.

"Elizabeth, it's always a pleasure meeting you" said Rose and Damon raised his eye brows at her that Elizabeth ignored completely. Damon was under the impression that Rose and Elizabeth were friends but the way Rose was being formal with her, he started doubting his earlier assumption. Elizabeth came closer to them and finally her eyes landed on Damon.

"Damon Salvatore, I always wanted to meet you in person. I have heard a lot of things about you. Quite an interesting vampire you are Damon." She motioned for everyone to sit while talking to Damon. Elizabeth settled on the couch herself across from everyone. The vampire then looked at Alaric. The history teacher unknowingly gulped down his fear which made Elizabeth smile to herself.

"Forgive me, I don't know your name" said Elizabeth.

"Alaric Saltzman." Ric quickly gave her his name. He didn't want her attention for longer than necessary. Thankfully Elizabeth looked away from Ric and focused on everyone.

"So, what brings you here to me?" She asked Rose particularly. Damon looked at Rose and nodded his head. Giving her permission to speak about the matter.

"My friend Damon here is having some problems with his vampire side" said Rose and Elizabeth started to get interested immediately.

"We have searched everywhere possible for us but couldn't find anything about the problem or the solution of it."

"What kind of problems exactly are we talking about here?" asked Elizabeth with serious curiosity. Rose started to describe the things to Elizabeth that were going on with Damon and his vampire side. Elizabeth listened to everything intently. Damon spoke up in between to fill up the information Rose perhaps missed to give. At the end of the long description and explanation, Elizabeth said only one thing.

"Fascinating" said the older vampire to herself.

"And this only happens when it comes to that girl, Jacqueline" asked Elizabeth for confirmation. The three of them nodded their heads. Elizabeth sighed out a little and stood up from the couch. She started pacing lightly in front of them. Elizabeth was curious and excited because for her, this mystery was quite challenging indeed. She didn't have any straight answer to this and it doesn't happen often. The vampire raked her memories to find something that is at least a little bit similar to Damon's situation. She must have come across something familiar before. Suddenly Elizabeth stopped pacing and she looked at Damon.

"Did you ever feed her your blood?" asked Elizabeth and Damon nodded his head curtly.

"Yes, couple of time, why? Does it have anything to do with it?" asked Damon but he didn't get any answer because Elizabeth rushed into her study room and retrieved a journal from there, her journal.

"I think it has everything to do with your situation" said Elizabeth, her calm and composed demeanor was faltered as she searched through the journal crazily.

"Here it is, something like this did happen before, almost seven hundred years ago" said Elizabeth. Damon, Rose and Ric immediately got worked up hearing that.

"But it's not exactly alike situations" said Elizabeth. She closed the journal and leaned back in her seat. Damon was getting impatient to get answers however both Rose and Ric gave him looks that kept Damon from snapping at the older vampire. Elizabeth started to tell them the tale that she remembered quite vividly.

"She was a friend of mine back in that time, her name was Meera. The girl was in love with a human named William but she was a vampire herself. She wanted to be with him forever. William was in love with her too but when she told him about her being a vampire, William started to hate Meera and didn't want her anywhere near him. Meera had no choice but to compel him to forget her confession. She decided to leave him forever afterwards. But Meera couldn't stay away from William even after she tried hard for years. She was extremely emotionally attached to that man. Therefore, giving up staying away from William, Meera decided to go back in his life, only to find out that he got married to another woman and have children with her. In jealousy and rage, Meera killed his wife and children then compelled William to forget about them and think of her as his wife. As compelled William forgot about his sons and daughters and his wife" said Elizabeth and Ric unknowingly flinched hearing about that. However, Elizabeth was still talking so he concentrated on that instead of muttering some curses under his breath for Meera.

"The couple were obviously physically involved. Meera loved to drink William's blood while making love to him. She used to heal him afterwards with her own blood. This kept going on for over a year and eventually Meera started to feel like the way Damon feels now about Jacqueline. She was extremely possessive of William, she wanted to control his every action and even used to hurt him if he dared to go against her or disobeyed her commands. And this effects only got stronger with passing time. Meera was violently obsessed with him" said Elizabeth and she paused for a while.

"What was it that happened between them?" asked Ric out of curiosity. Not fearing Elizabeth that moment.

"They created one kind of a blood bond between them" replied Elizabeth shortly. "Unknowingly of course."

"Blood bond? Is it like a sire bond?" asked Rose but Elizabeth shook her head.

"No, blood bond is quite different from sire bond" said Elizabeth and proceeded to explain more about it.

"In a sire bond a vampire has no choice but to obey his or her sire's command. But in a blood bond the human is not obliged to submission, he or she could deny any control from the vampire very easily if not compelled. Which is quite risky for the human because in rage caused by the disobedience, the vampire could kill the human. Just like Meera did, not long after she went crazy about William. She wanted her human lover to turn into a vampire and be with her forever. However Meera didn't want to compel William to agree to this. But William refused Meera right away when she made that offer to him and before Meera knew it he was lying dead at her feet." Elizabeth continued the story. Damon winched at the thought of Jacq lying dead because he lost his control.

"But why it happened to Meera and why it's happening to Damon now? I have heard and seen many vampires doing the same thing with sharing their blood. The vampire drinks from a human and then heals the person later feeding his or her own blood. No such thing as blood bond is created in between them" said Rose and she just spoke up Damon's mind. Damon used to drink blood from Katherine when he was human even Stefan used to drink vampire blood when he was human from the same vampire. No bond was created between them and the vampire who is none other than Katherine Pierce. Not even a sire bond was created between them. Elizabeth sighed out lightly at the question.

"It's not the vampire's fault that the blood bond is created, it's the human" said Elizabeth and it shocked everyone.

"What?" both Ric and Rose yelled at the same time. Their eyes went wide immediately.

"After killing William, Meera looked for answers too about her behavior before she burned herself into ashes in the sun" said Elizabeth meanwhile Rose and Damon looked at each other knowing if Damon accidentally kills Jacq, he would do the same thing.

"What did she find out?" asked Alaric. He was on the edge because of his curiosity.

"Meera found out that the woman William got married to was actually a very powerful witch. William was still in love with Meera when he got married to another woman his father chose for him. Obviously William, didn't remember that Meera was a vampire and that he hated her for it. Meera's compulsion was still very much in effect. After getting married William not only couldn't live with another woman but he couldn't live with himself therefore he decided to end his life. It was getting hard for William to live without Meera. He really committed suicide and died but his witch wife was in love with him. She was pregnant with his child as well. The witch used all her powers to bring William back to life. She was successful in bringing back her husband but the wife lost her powers forever. William never tried to kill himself again as he found out that soon he is going to be a father. Eventually William fell in love with his wife." Elizabeth finally finished the story.

"So, you are saying that the blood bond was created between Meera and William because William was brought back to life magically when he was supposed to stay dead" asked Rose for confirmation and Elizabeth nodded to her.

"Yes, and you must know that not many humans could come back from the dead. That's why the blood bond is quite a myth and only a handful of people actually know about this. Even I wouldn't have known about blood bonds if I weren't friends with Meera for some time in the past" confessed Elizabeth.

"But I only fed Jacq my blood only a couple of times when Meera fed her blood to William for over a year, like you said. How could it happen to us?" asked Damon quite worriedly because this blood bond was clearly not a good thing for Jacqueline or him. And it also meant a lot of things that Damon didn't want to be true.

"That's why I said it's not exactly alike situations but the blood bond is the best answer to your questions" replied Elizabeth confidently.

"Am I the only one who is figuring it out that this means Jacq has killed herself and died before and then came back to life somehow?" asked Rose out loud. Damon and Alaric were thinking of the same thing.

"But she never died before, I would have known about it if she had. I mean I would have heard it from someone at least" said Damon feeling quite exhausted in his mind with all this information he just found out about blood bond. And the thought alone that Jacq died once was terrifying for Damon.

"But the blood bond only creates with humans back from the dead, she must have died and came back to life somehow" stated Rose quite assured about it.

"Okay even if I do agree that Jacq killed herself, I know how capable she is of doing that. But the question is who brought her back to life?" asked Damon out loud that no one knew the answer to. Damon wanted to know about it more than anything else.

"The only witch we have is Bonnie Bennett and she can't even lift off a simple tomb spell without fainting let alone be powerful enough to bring someone back from the dead. Whoever it was it's not Bonnie for sure? But who else would do something like that for Jacq?" asked Damon more to himself than to others. He really needed to feed and get drunk. All these questions buzzing in his mind were making him hungry and frustrated. Ric hesitantly spoke up that time.

"I know this will sound weird to you guys but I have this feeling that I know the answers to you questions, that I know the truth of everything but I don't exactly know what it is. I am pretty sure that I have never learned anything about this blood bond or Jacq dying and coming back to life again but still I have this strange feeling that I know things but then again I don't remember what." Alaric ranted for sometime, feeling troubled. Damon and Rose looked at each other both knowing what really happened to Ric.

"Oh my god, you were compelled to forget" said Rose out loud. Damon furrowed his brows at him. Who would tell Alaric the truth and then compel him to forget about it? Obviously Jacq can't compel anyone. She is not a vampire. Unfortunately it didn't cross Damon's mind that she could make someone else compel Ric for her. Alaric rubbed the back of his neck tiredly.

"I think we should just go to Jacq and ask her about it straight away" suggested Alaric to which Damon rolled his eyes immediately.

"Yeah sure, as if she is going to tell us anything that easily. Besides I don't want to ask her anything. She will obviously not answer me and I don't want to loose my temper around her" said Damon at once. Ric and Rose nodded in understanding.

"Maybe I could ask her and force her to tell us what she knows about blood bond. Maybe compel her to tell us everything she knows. And I think she knows a lot of things that we don't" suggested Rose but Damon growled at her immediately. It surprised both Rose and Alaric.

"No, you are not gonna force her into doing anything" said Damon with strong tone of voice. The mere thought that some else but him controlling his Jacqueline made Damon's blood boil in anger instantly. No one has the right to control her or ask for her submission but him. Elizabeth gave Damon a knowing look and shook her head at him that both Rose and Ric noticed as well and they felt sorry for both Damon and Jacq. Realizing that he was getting angry for no important reason, Damon calmed down a bit. This blood bond is going to be the death of him.

"I will get information out of her in my own way" stated Damon firmly.

"You two would do nothing and no one will tell her anything about this blood bond yet. I am quite sure she knows nothing about it and I want to keep it that way for now" said Damon but Rose spoke up her mind to protest against it.

"Damon the blood bond is dangerous for Jacq. What if you loose control and really kill her? At least if you tell her then she will be aware of it and she would try her best not to anger you about anything." Rose got a point of course but she didn't really know Jacq the way Damon did. He knew exactly what is going to happen if Jacqueline finds out about the blood bond.

"No, she can't know about it. Because then she would prefer to be dead rather than be under my control in anyway. Jacq hates to be under anyone's control and I know it very well. I can't take any chance with her because after knowing about this blood bond, she will definitely try to kill herself again and this time may stay dead forever" said Damon. Rose thought he was exaggerating it a little bit but Alaric knew the truth as well therefore supported Damon's idea.

"I think we should find a way to break this blood bond because if she disobeys you in anyway, which she does all the time, you will be the one killing her yourself" stated Ric the bitter truth. The three of them concentrated on Elizabeth once again.

"Is there anyway to break this blood bond?" asked Damon with hopeful voice.

"Not that I know of but if you want my suggestion, I would tell you to turn her and turn this blood bond into a sire bond because then she won't be able to disobey you anymore and be under your control and obey your wishes. You simply won't have to kill her then. Turn Jacqueline into a vampire Damon, if you really want her safe around you."
