"Maybe you should drink?" Caroline said.
"Kurt understood and ran upstairs in under a second and grabbed a bag of blood. He decided to drink it there as he knew Jeremy was a human. He ripped it open and began drinking it hungrily. When he was finished he threw it in his trash can and dumped some screwed up paper over the top so as not to look suspicious. He then ran back downstairs, feeling a little better.
He sat opposite Caroline and Jeremy, sighing as he did so.
"Kurt? You might want to... urm... be more careful..."
"What?" Kurt shot her a confused look.
"You have blood all over face." Jeremy said bluntly. At this, Kurt ran to his bathroom to look in his mirror. And yes, he had blood all around his mouth. He cursed at himself. What if he did that when normal people were around? He cleaned his face before running back to Caroline and Jeremy, sitting back down and letting his head fall into his hands.
"I hate this." He mumbled. Neither of the two opposite him said anything, so he continued his little rant. "I hate it. I don't want this! I never did! Ergh. Why? I just want to be normal. Why does everything bad always happen to me?" he slammed his fist into the island hard, causing it to crack. Kurt closed his eyes, trying to contain his growing anger. He then heard a bang from upstairs and someone rushing. He assumed Finn heard and was making his way downstairs, and tripped in doing so.
His theory was proved correct when Finn burst into the kitchen holding an xBox controller in his hand.
"I heard shouting then a- Oh my god, what happened to it?" Finn, had apparently never learnt what an island was, seeing as every time he mentioned the thing, he called it 'IT'. Kurt paled. How was he supposed to explain this?
"Erm..." He looked at Caroline for help, but she looked just as helpless as he felt.
"Kurt?" Kurt didn't hear Finn because he was too busy figuring out an excuse. Finn ended up waving a hand in front of his to snap him out of his thoughts.
"Crap... Err, Finn..." Kurt was getting angry because he couldn't think of how to cover this up and he was clenching his fist so hard it was turning white. Caroline saw how angry he was and tried to help.
"Kurt? Calm down..." That was the last thing he needed right now, and if anything, it made him angrier.
"Shut up." He said, still concentrating on thinking of an excuse. Caroline shut up, but Jeremy seemed to think he was getting a little too angry too angry.
"Kurt... Seriously, just calm down a bi-"
"NO!" Kurt had yelled at him, and during that time his anger peaked and his face changed. The eyes, the veins, the fangs. All in front of Finn.
Finn jumped back as Kurt's hand leaped to his mouth. Caroline gasped and Jeremy just sat there in shock, but Kurt was more interested in Finn. He had fear in his eyes and was standing against the kitchen wall farthest away from Kurt. Either too afraid to move, or wanted an explanation before he ran.
"Finn..." Kurt's voice broke and tears were falling from his eyes. He'd already gone and screwed up and he hadn't even been like this for twenty four hours.
"What are you?" Kurt had expected him to sound disgusted, afraid. But he only sounded curious.
"Finn, firstly, I never ever wanted to be like this. This was not a choice. I hate what i've become." Finn didn't say anything, he just continued to stare and if possible, he leaned further into the wall. Kurt shot a glance at Caroline, he couldn't tell what look she had on her face, but she seemed okay with telling him. If Finn freaked out, he could just take away the bracelet and compulse him, right?
"Finn, yesterday, Matt text me. Completely out of the blue. And then when i left the house, this... guy, grabbed me. And then-" Kurt's voice broke, he hated talking about this. "And then he, made me drink his blood." Finn's eyes widened in shock and shifted from one foot to another, uncomfortable with the situation. "And then he... he killed me. He broke my neck and killed me." Kurt was crying now. "Finn, he turned me into a vampire." and then Kurt broke down. He fell against the island and hid his face and sobbed. He felt arms wrap around them, he would've assumed it was Caroline had the arms not been definitely a guys. Kurt looked up to see Finn hugging him. Kurt let out another sob before wrapping his arms around Finn as tight as he could, not wanted to let go.
"K-urt, can't... b-breath." Kurt let go immediately.
"I'm sorry." Finn smiled weakly. Kurt assumed that maybe he was still trying to process this information and that he might still freak out. So far he was doing extremely well not doing so.
"Kurt, is this true? And Matt text you? Did he do this?" Finn sounded concerned for Kurt.
"Yes, it's true. Matt didn't do anything. He just sat and watched me get turned." Kurt said, looking down ashamed.
"Kurt... I can't believe this, seriously i can't. I mean, vampires? Are you sure?" Finn doubted him. He didn't believe it. Kurt ran through ideas in his head on how to prove this. But his mind was set onto last night. So he simply brought his wrist upwards and bit into it slightly. Finn gaped at me as i did so. Then i showed him and he saw the blood, and he watched it heal quickly.
"Now do you believe me?" Finn looked lost, but he nodded.
"Urm... Isn't it dangerous for you to be around... people?" he asked, still staring at Kurt's now fully healed wrist.
"Yes." Kurt said bluntly, making Finn's eyes snap up. "That's what the bracelet's for," Finn's eyes went to the Vervain bracelet he wore. "It has Vervain in it and when that's why it hurt me... and Matt..." Finn nodded slowly, showing he understood. "But that only stops me from telling you what to do. I can tell you stuff and you'd obey without question. I don't want that." Finn started fiddling with the bracelet. "And you also need to drink the Vervain." Kurt said, pointing the flask his dad and Carole had left on the counter. "I think you should take some now, just in case i go crazy and bite you." Finn's eyes widened in fear. "I'm trying Finn. I'm trying so hard. I don't want to be like this. I don't want to be dangerous to the people I love. Especially my family and Blaine. I nearly attacked him several times today. I could have killed someone! I want to protect you, but it's hard when i'm the one threatening your safety. If you take that Vervain and i bite you, by accident, your blood will hurt me. I won't be able to drink it, and you'll be safe."
Finn nodded and walked to the flask, opening it and taking a sip, pulling the same face Blaine made before setting it back down. Kurt caught Caroline's eyes and she smiled at him. Finn must be taking this well then...
"You broke the it then?" Kurt smiled at at Finn because of his stupidity, then nodded.
"I got angry because i don't want to be like this. I hate being this... this monster." Finn looked sad, like someone he was close to was dying slowly and he was witnessing it.
"Kurt, you're not a monster." Jeremy said. "It's going to be okay. Look Caroline. And Stefan and Damon. Their all pretty normal."
"If you don't count how i started out, the amount of times Stefan's been off the rails, and what Damon used to be like before he found out Katherine never loved him."
"Caroline, you're not helping." Kurt smiled anyway. Watching the two bicker slightly was quite funny.
"Dude, I don't think you're a monster at all. You'll control yourself. If i know you, you will be fine. The thing i'm worried about is that my brother is now stronger than me." Kurt laughed at him and rolled his eyes. He was about to say something back when he heard a car pulling up the drive. Finn hadn't heard because he didn't have super sensitive hearing and he kept on talking. "It's actually sort of cool, i mean... you can tell people to do stuff, you're strong, i bet you're fast too! Being a vampire-" The front door swung open and Burt Hummel's voice yelled from it.
"Kurt? Finn? Me and Carole are home!"
Four pairs of eyes fell on the massive crack in the island.
Shit.
So what do you think? This chapter is more on Finn finding out and being okay with it. It wasn't expected as the fic was writing itself again. Which had put me in a stupid position. Should Burt and Carole find out that Kurt's a vampire in the next chapter? If not, then how do i cover up the crack?
DemitriMP - I realise it was a bit rushed, but i didn't know what to write, it's slowing down a little, and, you just gave me an amazing idea for Blaine's dad. it wasn't how i originally planned, but it's basically given me a whole new subplot!:) thanks! x
So, please review and tell me what you think? I just need to know if it's an okay chapter?
Less than three! xx
