"I can't do this." Kurt whispered, still staring at the crack. Telling Finn was enough for one day. He couldn't tell his dad. The thought terrified him. He had a terrible feeling that they would freak out and Kurt would have to runaway crying. He just couldn't do it.

"But how're you-"

"I don't know, Finn." He hissed, still glaring at the offensive crack.

"Kurt, I could exp-"

"Kurt? Finn? Where are you- Oh, Hi guys!" Burt said as he walked into the kitchen. "Hello to..." He eyed Caroline and Jeremy.

"I'm Caroline, and this is Jeremy, we're friends of Kurt's." Burt nodded.

"Well it's nice to meet y- What happened to the island?" Burt said wide eyed, immediately turning to Kurt.

Kurt panicked. He didn't want to his dad to find out, but there was no way to cover this up. He was freaking out himself. So he did the only that made sense. He ran. Making it to his room in under a second.

He jumped onto his bed and brought his knees to his chest, hugging his legs as he sobbed into them. He doesn't know how long it was till Finn came into the room, but he could hear everything they were saying. Caroline had tried to compulse them at first, but realized they were wearing Vervain shortly after. She then asked Burt and Caroline to sit down, and started explaining Kurt's situation slowly. Burt had been pretty freaked out when Kurt had ran out with amazing speed that he looked like he just flashed out of there.

"Kurt?" Finn asked quietly. Kurt just stayed where he was and Finn sighed before coming over to him. He clambered onto the bed besides Kurt and wrapped his long arms around him. "Caroline is-"

"Shhh. I can hear them." Kurt said. Finn nodded against him, hugging him harder as Kurt listened into their conversation.

"-and as you saw, he's really fast too. It's hard to explain but-"

"Just tell me what he is." his father practically growled.

"Vampire." Caroline rushed out.

"What?"

"He went missing last night, but when he came back this morning he compulsed you to forget and think he was here the whole time. During the time he was gone, someone turned him into a vampire. A friend of ours, Stefan, is searching for this guy. Apparently he's being doing these things for a year or so. We're trying to help, Kurt. It's a lot to go through and it hasn't even been 24 hours yet. He's freaking out more than you. The last thing he needs is to rejected by his family. When my mother refused to see after i turned it broke my heart. And a vampires emotions are heightened. So it's even worse..."

There was a silence in which Kurt grew nervous, and then his dad was shouting. And even Finn heard this.

"WHY? HE'S GONE THROUGH ENOUGH! WHY CAN'T PEOPLE JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE!"

"Mr. Hummel I think you should calm down." Caroline said, in barely a whisper.

"Calm down? I just found out my son's a vampire and you want me to calm down!"

"Mr. Hummel, please. Kurt can hear everything we're saying." Jeremy said quietly.

There was silence after this. And Kurt started to shake in Finn's arms, afraid of his fathers reaction. Also Carole's. She hadn't said a word through all of it.

Then Kurt finally heard what was definitely his fathers voice, even though he was grumbling quietly.

"I'm going to kill whoever did this t-"

"Mr. Hummel, The person who did this is a vampire, it would be extremely hard for you to do so, especially without proper training. We're working on it. But I'm just checking on Kurt to see how he's doing. To be honest, it was a little too early for him to come back. We were going to look after him back at our house, teach him the basics, how to control his blood lust... He nearly lost it with Blaine, or so he says. The best thing you could do right now is support him. Stefan is trailing this vampire this second. We'll get him." Caroline sounded like she was trying so hard at comforting Kurt's dad.

"You mentioned he can compulse people? What is that?" Carole finally spoke up, changing the subject a little as she did so.

"It's sort of like mind control. Those necklaces you're wearing, Kurt gave them to you, right?" There was a short silence in which he assumed they nodded. "Well they contain Vervain. It's a vampire's weakness. He gave them to you so he can't do that. They will stop him from controlling you to do stuff. And also, that flask, contains Vervain. When you drink it, it goes into your blood stream, so if Kurt ever looses it and accidentally bites you, it'll hurt him and he'll be forced to stop. You'll all be fine with him around."

"Can i see him?" Kurt's heart picked up speed. His dad actually wanted to see him? Does that mean he accepted him?

There was noises of four pairs of feet coming up the stairs. Kurt kept himself gripped onto Finn tightly, unwilling to let go. His brother accepted him, he couldn't take it if they didn't.

"Kurt you're hurting me." Finn whispered and Kurt loosened his grip. He still didn't realize just how strong he was.

Then his door was flung open, and Kurt hid his face into Finn's chest, afraid to face his father.

"Kurt?" His fathers voice sounded broken, but Kurt still refused to look at him. Finn shook him lightly but he still refused to move. He felt a dip in the bed and knew his father was now sitting on it too. A warm hand was placed on his shoulder as his father spoke to him. "Kurt, please look at me." Kurt nuzzled his face further into Finn's chest, tears starting to pour down his face, making Finn's shirt wet. "Kurt please, I love you. Nothing could change that." Kurt spun around fast and flung himself into his fathers arms, maybe a little too forcefully.

"I love you, daddy." Kurt whispered into his ear.

"I love you too, kiddo."

The next day, Kurt had shot through his morning routine quickly again, leaving him time to spare. In this time he put some spare blood bags into his school bag and drank a few more. And then he killed the rest of the time watching TV, which was extremely boring.

This morning Blaine was taking him to school, and usually he'd look forwards to his time with Blaine. But right now he was dreading it. And when Blaine parked in front of his house, his nervousness had peaked. Luckily his dad muttered some comforting words to him and hugged him tightly before pushing him towards Blaine's car.

He reluctantly sat in the passenger side and as he was buckling the seat belt, Blaine leaned over and placed a kiss on his cheek and muttered a good morning. Kurt said it back but didn't return the kiss, much to Blaine's dismay. So, naturally, Blaine assumed Kurt was having a bad day, and as he started to drive he put on his iPod. Kurt rolled his eyes as Blaine ran through a couple of songs before finding the one he wanted. And then Blaine started to sing, hoping for Kurt to join in, it was their thing to sing this in the car after all.

Made a wrong tur-

"No, Blaine." Kurt said and looked out of the window. "Not today." Blaine sighed besides him and switched it off.

"What's wrong, Kurt? You've been acting weird since yesterday! Something's wrong." Blaine said, stealing a glance at his boyfriend before staring back at the road.

"Nothing Blaine, just leave it."

"Don't lie to me, Kurt!" Kurt scowled over at him.

"I'll tell you what's wrong with me when you tell me what's going on with your dad. Whenever he's mentioned you act weird. Something's wrong with that." Kurt looked back out the window, knowing that he'd got Blaine. Blaine sighed angrily and they drove the rest of the way to school in an angry silence.
