After the horribly awkward conversation with his dad about safe sex, in which, Caroline and Damon were snickering behind them all the way through, Kurt had packed his bags. He was really upset about having to leave, but it was for the best. He hoped.
Damon and Caroline took his bags to their car and stayed there so Kurt could have some privacy to say goodbye.
"How long will you be gone for?" Carole asked, quietly.
"As long as it takes." Kurt replied in a monotone. His eyes then went to his dad.
"I'm going to miss you kid." Burt said, pulling his son into a hug. "I love you Kurt. No matter what."
Kurt blinked, willing himself not to cry.
"I love you too, daddy." Burt hugged him tighter. Kurt only ever called him 'daddy' when he was really upset. And this was the second day in a row he heard him say it. "And I'm sorry I nearly attacked you..."
"Don't worry about."
He pulled out of the hug so Carole could hug him, It was shorter than the hug between him and Kurt, but just as heartfelt. And then Finn moved in.
"Look, Kurt, we're bros now. We have been for a year. And as much as it freaks me out that you've had sex with Blaine, it doesn't change that. I'll always be here for you, dude. And when you're off drinking blood, just make sure it's no one we know." He was joking but Kurt's eyes grew wide. It struck him that they didn't know about the incident with Santana. "I love you, dude." Previous thoughts forgotten, Kurt smiled at Finn.
"I love you, too. But don't call me dude." Finn grinned toothily and pulled him into a tight hug. Kurt was definitely going to miss Frankenteen.
When they pulled away, Kurt found himself blinking back tears again. He didn't want them to see him cry, so he started to walk away slowly, but stopped at the open door, and turned to look back at his family.
"Finn?" Finn lifted his head a little to show he was listening. "Could you tell Blaine that I love him?" Finn smiled softly and nodded in confirmation. "Thank you." He let his eyes fall upon his parents again. "I love all of you. So much."
And then he was out the door and sitting in the backseat of Damon's car, who had started driving the second Kurt had closed the door.
Kurt closed his eyes as he wished this was all just a stupid, long dream.
Blaine pulled up besides the Hummel-Hudson home the next day before school. He wanted to speak to Kurt about yesterday. He hated not speaking to him. And it hurt to feel like Kurt didn't care anymore.
Plus, after last nights nightmare, he really just wanted to hold Kurt.
Kurt's and Finn's cars were still there, so Blaine figured he hadn't left yet. He got out of his car and went to knock on the door. It was a minute and a half before anyone opened it, and to Blaine's dismay, it was Finn.
"H-hi, Blaine." He was a little shifty and he sounded really nervous for some reason.
"Is Kurt still here?" Blaine asked hopefully.
"Urm..." He looked as though he was looking for an excuse. "He's...ill! Yeah, he's ill." Finn was smiling slightly. Like it was an achievement that Kurt was ill.
"But he was perfectly fine yesterday?" Even after saying this, Blaine was still worried for Kurt. They hadn't actually talked, so how would Blaine know if he had been perfectly fine? "Can I see him?" Finn seemed to grow even more nervous at this.
"NO! I mean... You can't... he's really, really contagious."
"Oh." Blaine looked saddened by this. And Finn noticed. The taller boy sighed and placed a hand on Blaine's shoulder.
"He told me to tell you that he loves you. And I also think he's pretty upset about not speaking to you yesterday." Blaine smiled slightly, and nodded.
"Thanks Finn." Blaine turned to leave, but turned back around when Finn started to speak again.
"Blaine? The glee guys are having games night tonight at Puck's place, because it's and Friday and we can stay the whole night. Do you wanna' come?" Blaine was shocked at Finn's offer. They had only really been friends again since Sectionals, and Blaine still got a little nervous when Finn was nice to him. But it made him smile nonetheless.
"Sure, I'd like that." He said, aiming the smile at Finn.
"Good." Finn said, finally smiling himself. All his nervousness seemed to have disappeared. "See you in school."
Blaine nodded and walked back to his car where he pulled out his phone to send a text to Kurt.
To: Kurt XX
Finn told me you were sick. I hope you get better soon. I hated not speaking to you yesterday, and if it was my fault, I'm sorry. I just really want to hug you right now. I love you, too. Always will. xx
Kurt had just sent a text to Finn to wary around Matt. He didn't fully trust him. Sure he had been perfectly nice, but it could all be an act.
Now he was making himself breakfast in Elena's kitchen. He was alone right now, but no doubt the others were awake and bustling about upstairs. He could hear them doing so anyway.
When they got back last night, they didn't really do anything. Kurt was expecting some sort of help, but Damon just went to his room, while Caroline started a conversation with him. He'd asked and she said they were going to start tomorrow. Whatever that meant. Elena, Bonnie and Jeremy later joined in. Kurt liked them. They were all really nice to him. He liked it here.
Where ever here was...
His phone beeped at the same time his toast popped out the toaster. He pulled out his toast and reach for his phone at the same time. He was fully expected a reply text from Finn, and not one from Blaine.
From: Blainey XX
Finn told me you were sick. I hope you get better soon. I hated not speaking to you yesterday, and if it was my fault, I'm sorry. I just really want to hug you right now. I love you, too. Always will. xx
A few tears fell down his cheeks as he read it. He wondered if should text back. It wouldn't hurt, right?
To: Blainey XX
It wasn't your fault, Blaine. I was stressed and I was being a bitch. You shouldn't have to say sorry. I should. So... I'm sorry. I still meant what I said about you and your dad, though. Something's wrong there. And it bothers me. I wish I could hug you right now too. I love you, Blaine. So freaking much it hurts. xx
Kurt placed his phone on the counter and breathed out slowly. He wished he could see Blaine right this second. He wanted him so bad.
Kurt shook his head and busied himself with spreading the butter on his toast. He couldn't be sitting around longing for Blaine. He needed to focus. Blaine was a distraction. Blaine was-
His phone beeped again. Kurt fought his own resistance and picked it up to read his new text.
From: Blainey xx
Things with my dad are... complicated. He asked me to invite you around for dinner tonight... but you obviously can't. But I'd prefer it if you didn't meet him anyway. Also, Last night he gave me some of that stuff you gave me. He wanted me to drink it too. What is that stuff anyway?
Kurt frowned. Why would Blaine's dad be trying to give him Vervai-
His phone cluttered to the floor.
"What did it say?"
Kurt spun around to see Caroline standing at the door. She must have been their the whole time.
"I think his dad knows." Caroline shot him a confused look before Kurt could elaborate. "Blaine's dad. I think he knows. Blaine said his dad wanted me to go there for dinner... And then he said that his dad tried to give him Vervain." Caroline's jaw dropped. Suddenly Stefan was besides her.
"We shouldn't go jumping to conclusions." He said, eyeing Kurt's phone that was still on the floor. "His dad could simply be like Alaric and know about vampires in general. He could just be worried for Blaine. And then Blaine mentions you gave him Vervain and he got curious. It could be a coincidence, Kurt." Kurt nodded, calming down a little.
"Who's Alaric?"
"That would be me." The voice came from a good looking man just strolling into the kitchen. He smiled at Kurt before passing by him to make his own breakfast. He wasn't here last time Kurt was. And that made Kurt a little confused.
"Kurt, Damon's going to be down in a minute to take you out." Caroline said, drawing his attention back to her with a raised eyebrow. "I would change your clothes if I were you. You tend to be a bit messy when you feed, and your clothes are absolutely too fabulous to ruin." Kurt smiled at her in thanks. And then she turned to Stefan. "I'm going to check on Tyler." And then she was back out the room.
"Who's Tyler?" He asked, looking at Stefan. But Alaric was the one to answer him.
"Caroline's werewolf boyfriend. That's why me and him weren't here the night they found you. I was making sure he wasn't biting any vampires."
Werewolf? Could Kurt's life get any crazier?
"Biting vampires?" Kurt said worriedly.
"Their bites can kill a vampire. Don't worry though. He's the only one around these parts. Me and Jeremy take turns making sure he's locked up. You'll be fine." Kurt nodded shakily. Why him and Jeremy? Why not anyone else?
"Come on, fresh meat! Let's get this over with!" Damon said as he walked past the kitchen door, not even looking in.
The park was cold. Kurt was wondering why anyone who was sane would come to it in this weather. As far as he knew, he and Damon were the only ones here.
"No one's here Damon." Kurt huffed, wrapping his arms around his body.
"There will be." He said simply. Kurt sighed. He didn't think Damon really cared about what happens to him. He'd much rather be here with Caroline. Or Stefan.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw someone. A man. Dressed in fairly warm clothing that clashed horrifically. He was alone.
"Go." Damon said, leaning against a tree.
Kurt ran towards the man, stopping front of him. The man seemed shocked. Kurt disregarded this and looked straight into his piercing green eyes.
"Do not make a sound."
The man nodded and Kurt leaned in towards his neck. He could feel the blood pumping through the man's jugular.
And then Kurt bit him.
The second the blood reached Kurt's tongue, he couldn't stop.
It tasted amazing. He couldn't quite pinpoint what it tasted like, but it was good.
He didn't know how long he had been drinking for when his sensitive hearing picked up Damon's voice.
"Stop, Kurt."
Kurt ignored him and continued to drink. This seemed to piss Damon off.
"STOP, HUMMEL. YOU'LL KILL HIM!"
This got to Kurt. He broke away, licking the remaining blood from his lips. He knew he was probably covered in it, but he ignored that and bit into his wrist. He then shoved it towards the mans mouth, forcing him to drink so he'd heal. Then he looked into the man's fear filled green eyes.
"You won't remember a thing from the last ten minutes" Kurt said.
He then ran away back to Damon.
"You still need to be more careful." were the only words Kurt got from him as they walked out of the freezing cold park.
Not sure about this chapter, it's more of a filler i guess. and a glimpse of Kurt's 'training'.
And thanks to DemitriMP for making me make up ANOTHER subplot. I totally hadn't thought about the werewolves. ONCE! But i'm uncomfortable with writing about Tyler. Mainly because whenever i see or hear that name, it brings back uncomfortable memories that i'm not going into. But i'll try.
I also think i need to clear up where abouts in the timeline the TVD part is. Basically, they are running away from Klaus so he can't get Elena. So Stefan is still relatively sane. Elena has no idea that Damon loves her (to an extent.) Rebekah isn't in it. yet. But Elijah is still alive.
Is that cleared up now?
Also, I want you guys to guess about what Blaine's dad is. How Blaine's mother 'died'. stuff like that.
I will also be introducing another subplot that includes Sebastian soon...;)
Right now though, I'm going to write the next Chapter of Tormented.:)
Less then three! xx
