"Blaine." The woman's' voice was soft layered with some sort of accent, and she made to move forwards towards Blaine, but saw Kurt's wary expression.
"I… I told you to warn me first! N-not to come into my school!" Blaine spoke shakily, blinking to stop himself from crying.
"We couldn't wait. We had to see yo-"
"After seven years of having not to?" Kurt intercepted, stepping to stand beside Blaine. "Why now? Why not the countless times his father abused him? Why not when he came out? Why even leave him here at all?"
Blaine's mother looked thoroughly shocked and seemed speechless. The man, who Kurt recognized from various commercials, who he also knew was Cooper, looked angered.
"You stay out of this. You don't know a thing about us or Blaine-"
"Excuse me!" Kurt grew furious. "Do you know that Blaine's favourite colour is purple? Do you know that Blaine has a collection of over two hundred bowties? Do you know that his coffee order is a Medium Drip? Do you know that his lifelong dream is to perform at Madison Square Gardens? Do you know that Blaine's favourite song is Teenage Dream? Do you know that his favourite movie is The Princess Bride? Do you know that he's been put into senior classes at school because he's so far ahead of the Juniors? Do you know that he's a lightweight when it comes to alcohol? Do you know that his favourite fruit are strawberries? Do you know that he hates wearing socks? Do know that he hates wearing socks? Do you know that he really, really wants a pet dog? Preferably a German Shepard because he thinks they're adorable. Do you that he scrunches his face up when he org-"
"I think you can stop there, Kurt." Damon said, coming down the hallway, smirking, with Matt hiding a smirk of his own. He mouthed 'get some, Hummel' to him.
Kurt blushed deeply, realizing what he was about to say. Blaine smiled at his side, leaning in to whisper in his ear. "I love you." His hand slipped into Kurt's, and Kurt knew that he had been forgiven for his mistakes today.
Cooper's eyes narrowed.
"I take it you're his boyfriend?"
"Like it wasn't obvious before." Kurt replied, bitterly.
Cooper nodded, sighing.
"W-why didn't you take me with you?" Blaine said timidly. "Why did you leave me with him? Making me believe mom was dead and you didn't care about me?"
"I do care, Blaine. We both care."
"Okay." Damon said, leaning against a row of lockers. "I'm pretty sure Bianka," He spoke the name oddly, putting a slight accent with it. Almost Italian sounding. "Can speak for herself. Especially since we both know she rarely stops talking anyway."
Cooper's eyes narrowed. "No one asked for your opinion, Damon. What are you doing here anyway?"
Kurt, Blaine and Matt watched the scene play out, confused.
"I do believe I told you two we were headed to Ohio and to make sure you didn't follow us to ruin our plans further than you already did. I'm pretty sure a death threat made itself clear there, too. And you know I follow through with my death threats."
"Where came here for my son, Damon. We had no idea you'd be in Lima." Bianka said, finally speaking, her accent becoming clearer now. Italian. Kurt looked at Blaine, confused.
Damon studied her for a moment. "Then why not speak for yourself, instead of getting Mr. Hollywood here to do all the talking? Why aren't you answering all of little Blainey's questions? Why can't you tell him that you clearly don't care?"
Bianka glared furiously. "Don't you dare, Damon. You know nothing about our family."
Damon scoffs. "Some family you have, Bianka." He takes out a small book from his pocket. Cooper takes a step forward, looking at it closer. "I stole this from your son. Plus the amount of time I spent around made me learn quite about your 'family'."
Cooper suddenly had what looked like a miniature crossbow in his hands, aiming it at Damon. "Give it back."
"Would it matter? I've already read its whole contents?"
Cooper huffed, but kept the crossbow aimed.
"And from what I know, you constantly steal your son's money. What it says in here…. Well…" He throws the book to Blaine, who catches it on impulse. "Read the last entry."
Blaine looked confused, but nodded and started flicking through the pages. Cooper sighed and lowered the crossbow as Blaine read aloud:
Why doesn't she care?
I've asked a million times to go back to Ohio. To go back to Blaine. God knows what dad is doing to him.
But every time I ask, she point blank just ignored me. Or changes the subject.
It's like she doesn't care at all that she left her son to fend for himself with someone as corrupted as my father.
I don't know why she did this to herself anyway. Get some douchebag vampire to turn her. Who would ask for that? For an eternity of life? To outlive everyone you know and love. To watch everyone you care about die one by one. While you remain the same.
It's sick, twisted, and vile.
I'm only staying because she compelled me to. She lets me know it too. She forces me to be able to feel all these things, but not be able to do a single thing but write about it.
I just want to see my little brother again.
Blaine finishes with tears in his eyes. He looks up at Cooper. Kurt takes a few steps back as Cooper comes over, his arms open, hoping for a hug, which Blaine grants him.
As they hug, Kurt is thinking everything through. Firstly, he really, really, wants to hit Bianka. But he figured that if Cooper was under her compulsion, and would probably protect her at all costs. He moves so he's behind them, so Bianka can't see him, but Cooper can.
He mouths 'Are you compelled to protect her'. He nods slowly. 'Any Vervain on you?' He shakes his head. Kurt raises his voice to whisper, looking directly into Cooper's eyes. "You don't have to do a thing she say's anymore."
And then he runs straight towards Bianka and pushed her hard against the lockers. She yelped in shock and fell to the floor. Kurt felt himself vamp out as he moved forwards to hit her harder, but he suddenly felt himself being restrained. Matt.
Damon picked Bianka up and restrained her too.
"Kurt… I know you're angry, but you can't kill her." Damon said, calmly. Kurt's eyes narrowed.
"Why not? You want to kill her!"
"I have my reasons Kurt. But I also need her for something." Bianka tried to interrupt as she tried to pull away from Damon's grip. "But your reason for not killing her is standing right over there."
Kurt looked over to where he motioned and the anger left his body and he felt defeated as he saw Blaine's shocked face staring at him. Matt let go and let Kurt fall to the floor.
It was silent for a moment before Kurt picked himself up, and, ignoring the threesome beside him, walks straight over to Blaine.
Blaine looked at him, confused.
"I'm sorry, Blaine. I know she's your mother. I was just really angry about the stuff Cooper said about her." Blaine nods slowly.
"…Can we talk in private… I know there's more than that." Kurt nods and takes his hand. Without another word to anyone else, they leave. They go to Kurt's car, hoping that they'll actually be alone.
"I'm sorry, about that. Really, I am."
"It's okay… I understand that you were angry… I just… I was expecting you to be more… verbal than physical. You're not really a violent person…"
Kurt sighs, and takes his hand in his.
"I know… so much has changed lately… I guess… I'm not who I used to be."
"Clearly, Mr. Vampire… but I still love you."
Kurt smiles. "And if anything, my love for you has grown stronger."
They stare at each other for a minute.
"I know I shouldn't have attacked her… I know, that even after what was in that book, you still think that she still cares… even just a little bit. Just like you believe that your dad cares."
"… I… I sort of have proof he does… don't I? I mean… why else would he give me Vervain?"
Kurt nods, slowly. "Do you want to go home? I'm exhausted and I'm sure we can go back to vampire slash parent slash brother drama tomorrow. I just want some us time. I miss that time with you."
Blaine grins. "Of course."
Kurt smiles and leans in, kissing him slowly.
.
Okay, firstly, I made a HUGE mistake in the last chapter. Where Damon says "Kurt was the only person he changed that night" and I changed it to what it was SUPPOSED to say. "Kurt WASN'T the only person he changed that night"
I'm sorry if I caused any confusion…
Any ideas? I'm stumped right now…
Thanks for reviews and alerts and favourites guys, it means a lot!
