The reason that Burt had headed upstairs to Kurt's room was only to tell them that they were going to Breadstix for dinner, and he was still highly embarrassed about walking in on them. They left a little while later when Finn and Carole got back, tension filling the car, creating an awkward silence, until Finn spoke, not aware of the tension.

"Why'd you guys leave school so early? You missed glee! We have Regionals this weekend!"

Kurt didn't answer seeing as he was still extremely upset with Finn, which Blaine had pointed out as odd for still being upset about it. It had taken a while for Kurt to get Blaine to understand about his emotions being heightened. Angry was furious, scared was terrified, upset was miserable, happy was ecstatic, and so on.

Blaine shifted uncomfortably between them. "It's this weekend?"

"Uhh, yeah! You know, there's more to life than sex, guys. Everyone has actually been rehearsing-"

Kurt could feel anger slowly boiling up inside of him and his hands start to clench, unaware of how he's crushing Blaine's hand that was holding his until Blaine yelped. "Kurt!" Kurt jumped back into reality and pulled his hand away from Blaine's.

"I'm so sorry, baby! Are you okay?" Kurt was appalled at himself, and all he could do was stare at Blaine's hand in shock.

"Kurt, I'm fine. I was just… shocked more than anything. Kurt. Kurt, look at me." He finally lets himself look up into Blaine's eyes, they weren't pained or sad, but they were comforting and warm.

But for some reason, that made Kurt even angrier.

Why was Blaine trying to comfort him when he'd just hurt him? Why was he acting like everything was okay? And why was Finn-

Oh god Finn.

"I need some air." Kurt murmured, his fists clenching tightly once more, his nails digging into his skin. He turned and undid his seatbelt as he opened the door, tumbling out without even thinking about the fact that the vehicle was actually moving. He stumbled and fell to the road, scraping his hands and hitting his head. The car skidded to a halt a few meters away, Burt and Blaine jumping out and calling his name.

Kurt groaned and stood up, shaking his head in an attempt to clear it. He felt crowded, claustrophobic almost. It was too much. The anger was too much.

He needed to leave right now. Or else he'd hurt someone worse than just holding their hand too tightly.

He heard their footsteps coming towards him, and he was gone, running away and out of sight within a few seconds. He ran aimlessly, towards nowhere in particular.

He stopped in a park, one that wasn't too far from home. The place was empty, except for one person. They were young, maybe about fifteen. Kurt didn't know who it was, but he had short dark hair and he was smaller than most.

Kurt stared at him, finally realizing that he'd been starving himself. He hadn't fed properly for a while; he couldn't even remember when he'd last fed.

So he did his next action without thinking twice.

He was over beside the boy quickly, his teeth sinking into his neck and blood pouring down his throat. Kurt groaned and clung to him, his eyes fluttering shut and sucking the blood hungrily.

It took him a minute to hear the screaming emitting from the boy.

He forgot to compel him first.

He ignored that fact, thinking it was unimportant until he heard another voice, further away.

"Jamie!"

They weren't alone.

Kurt cursed loudly as he ripped himself away from the boy. Jamie? He quickly bit his own wrist and shoved it into the boy's mouth and looked directly into his eyes.

"Forget everything that just happened. You screamed because you thought you saw a really big spider."

The boy nodded and Kurt was gone. Kurt knew it was a weak compulsion, he hadn't thought it through properly. He really, really hoped it worked.

When he stopped running, he found himself in a dark, narrow alleyway. He looked around, taking in the sight of the crumbling bricks and several year old graffiti. He knew his alleyway. He knew he'd never forget the look, smell or feel of this place.

This was the place where he was murdered.

A cold shiver ran up his spine. It wasn't just because he hated this place, or because of the evil feeling it gave off. But because he could sense somebody watching him.

He turned slowly and saw a man with dirty blonde hair and piercing green eyes standing passively at the mouth of the alley, staring at him. He wore a leather jacket and skin tight jeans, his hands tucked into the pockets, relaxed.

"Who are you?" Kurt asked defensively, glaring at him. Just being in the alley made him angrier.

"My name's Theo. And you're Kurt." He stepped into the alley towards him as his eyes narrowed, suspicious.

"How do you-"

"Kaiser gave you a gift, Kurt." Kurt felt a flare of more anger flowing into him at the name. "Be thankful. He needs your help to get away from the Hunter. He saved you from death; gave you immortality. Why don't you show some respect and actually help him in return!?"

"Are you fucking kidding me!?" Kurt growled, his anger steadily building, turning to rage. It took everything he had not to lunge at the guy. "Kaiser ruined my life!"

"You're angry, Kurt…" Kurt scoffed at the observation. "Looks like whoever you were hanging with hasn't shown you everything."

Kurt frowned and took a step towards Theo; intrigued. "What do you mean?"

"Flip the switch." He answered simply, shrugging as though it was obvious.

"What?"

"The humanity switch. You can stop feeling, Kurt. All the pain, grief and anger will go away. You won't feel a thing."

Kurt was stunned into silence. Was… Was this possible? Could he make all the feelings go away? Did he no longer have to be upset or angry? Could he get rid of all the guilt that was eating him away?

If what Theo said was true…

And then it was done.

He'd flipped the switch.

He found himself at Scandals after that, pushing his way through the crowd. He spotted a guy sitting alone at the bar and kept his focus on him. He didn't care what he looked like, and it didn't take long to get the car to go to the bathroom.

From there Kurt locked the door and leapt onto him, biting into his neck immediately.

His blood was warm and felt good as it seeped into his mouth, soothing his hunger. He couldn't stop, he didn't want to. He didn't care.

He pulled himself away eventually and looked and the poor guy who had become his victim. He looked weak, pathetic, his life slowly slipping away.

And Kurt was gone.

Kurt didn't go back home. At all.

In fact, the next time anyone he knew saw him, was when he appeared on the bus for Regionals. No one said anything, but Blaine, Finn and Matt were watching him from he lay on the backseat, taking up the whole thing.

He probably looked like a mess, seeing as he'd been gone for two days and hadn't even shown up for a change of clothes. And then Matt was standing above him, scowling, causing Kurt to simply raise an eyebrow.

His phone buzzed, probably another message from Theo about how to help Kaiser, even though Kurt had mentioned plenty of times that he had no interest in doing so.

"Where have you been, Kurt?"

"A lot of places, Matthew. Please leave." Kurt sighed staring at the roof of the bus, bored. He didn't want to be here, he didn't want to go to Regionals, but he was coming anyway. He wasn't even sure why since he didn't care about it at all.

"Wha-?... You flipped the switch." He muttered, not even a question.

"Yay, ten points to Gryffindor. Now go away." Matt's eyes narrowed.

"Fine, but just know that you should probably just leave. Now you've flipped the switch you're even more dangerous. Your shirt is also covered in blood."

"Awesome. Go away."

Matt sighed and left, pulling out his phone as he went to go sit beside Blaine. Kurt heard them talking about him, and Blaine's worried tone didn't seem to faze him.

His Regionals uniform was thrown at him by someone when they got off the bus and he groaned as he left to change with everyone else.

He really, really didn't want to be here.

It seemed to take forever, the competition. And The Warbler performance made him want to fall asleep, and rip Sebastian's head off, because 'hey wouldn't that be fun?'

He didn't even know the routine for the dancing when it came for New Direction's to perform, but he did it anyway.

And while they were waiting for the results, everyone was glaring at him angrily in the green room with a few exceptions. They started muttering upon themselves and suddenly an apple was being thrown at him, and he sat up and caught it easily. He raised an eyebrow and stared around the room that had abruptly gone deadly silent. Judging from the speed and direction, he found out who threw it within seconds and threw back at them, hard.

It his Artie in the chest and winded him, and rubbed it while grimacing.

"You asked for that." Kurt said, glaring at the boy.

Suddenly everyone is yelling at it, shouting out nonsense. He looked over at Sugar, who was singing What Doesn't Kill You to herself, oblivious to her surroundings while Matt yelled at everyone to shut up.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger-

Shame I was murdered Kurt thought, and with that, he stormed out of the room. He strolled through the halls, looking for something… someone.

There was a girl up ahead, one from the other show choir he's paid no attention to whatsoever. She was alone. He grabbed her, looked into her eyes, and told her to be quiet before pulling her into the closest bathroom.

He bit into her neck and groaned, starting to drink her steadily.

Her blood felt good, like all blood, warm and satisfying. It trickled down his throat and groaned, gripping at girl.

He felt something sharp against his back, a point digging into his clothes, where his heart is. He growled and pulled away from the girl, letting her fall to the floor and clutch at her neck, still remaining silent. He turned slowly, so as not to startle whoever was behind him.

Then he saw him, his dark hair falling over his handsome, familiar face.

Damon.

"What are you doing, Kurt?"

"Feeding, Damon, now fuck off." He growled, but didn't move, eyeing the stake in his hands. He noticed Alaric stepping into the room as well.

Damon's eyes narrowed. "Bonnie told you not to hurt anyone-"

"I don't care!"

"You will when she takes the magic off your ring!"

Kurt scowled and Damon handed the stake to Alaric.

"You need to wake the fuck up. You don't get to flip the switch, Kurt. Sure, you can't feel anything, but that doesn't mean it's really gone. It'll destroy you, Kurt. Like Stefan, you'd think he's a nice guy, right? Well whenever he falls off the wagon, he's the worst of the worst. He's the ripper. He goes fucking crazy, Kurt. Like me. When I first met Elena, I hadn't spoken to my brother in years, and I killed a lot of people. I killed my last living, human relative, Kurt. I'm trying to protect you, Hummel. And your family. You'll ruin what you've got left, Kurt. Don't do that!"

Kurt just stares at him. "Are you done?"

"I'm serious, Kurt! You need to turn the switch back. Now. I didn't want to have to threaten you." Kurt was suddenly pushed up against the wall, Damon's arm pushing against his neck, hard. "We're trying to keep a low profile here, Kurt. If you fuck that up, I will not hesitate to kill you."

Kurt growled and pushed him away, forcefully, sending him flying into the bathroom stalls. He went to advance, but Alaric was there, stake aimed at Kurt's chest.

"Kurt," It was Alaric who spoke this time, a lot calmer than Damon. "Remember how you felt that first time you thought you'd killed me. If you continue like you are now, you will kill someone, Kurt. For good. And when you eventually start feeling again… It'll be a million times worse than it is now."

"That's if someone doesn't kill you first." Damon mutters, picking himself up from the floor, scowling.

Kurt stared at Alaric, puzzled, trying to make sense of what he just said, barely aware of Damon's comment, but still managing to take it in.

He knew Alaric was right and that he would eventually end up killing people… but he didn't feel guilty right now. He didn't feel anything. And he liked that. Being free. Not a care in the world.

He craved it.

The door opened and Stefan stepped into the bathroom. Why were they even here? He shot a look at Damon and Alaric and they nodded, leaving silently. Well, as silent as Damon can be when he's pissed off. He mutters something about 'the stupid vampire judge that's dressed like an idiot' as he walked out of the door. Alaric just shook his head and stuffed the stake into his jacket, following.

Kurt knew they hadn't gone far; they only stood outside the door, like some sort of precaution. Like Kurt was dangerous.

Was he?

"Kurt, I'm not going to stand here and tell you that you should flip the switch back, because that's your choice to make. Not mine. But I will tell you about myself. When I first turned, I wasn't going to complete the transition. I was going to let myself die… But then I killed my father. It was a complete accident. But I was afraid, alone and consumed with guilt. I forced Damon to complete his own transition so I wouldn't be alone. But then he left and I hated every single thing about me. I shut off my emotions and I killed more people. Hundreds. I was so consumed by bloodlust that I ripped their heads off every time I fed. They called me The Ripper… Kurt I don't want you to be consumed by that bloodlust. I don't want you to become like me. You'll kill the ones you care about most…"

Kurt stood still, stunned. He couldn't believe it. That Stefan of all people ended up like that. That he could end up like that. That he could kill. That he could kill his dad. His friends. His… Blaine.

His eyes fell to the girl who was still on the floor, clutching her bleeding neck and crying silently. He felt remorse filling him along with guilt. He let his feelings back in slowly, one by one, breathing quietly, before falling to his knees in front of the girl, tears slipping down his cheeks.

"Wh…what's your name?" He asks softly, looking her in the eye, brushing a lock of her auburn hair from her green eyes.

"Maya." She replies, swallowing loudly, looking up at him with fear.

"I'm so sorry, Maya." He bites his wrist and puts it in front of her mouth. "Drink. It'll heal you, Maya."

She nods and starts drinking from him. Stefan remains where he is while Kurt shuffles a little closer, keeping her eye contact. "I'm so sorry, Maya. This never happened. You went to the bathroom, and reapplied your makeup. Okay? The rest of us were never here." He pulls away his wrist and she gets up, nodding and then leaves.

Kurt sighs and wipes away his tears before looking up at Stefan. "…Thank you, Stefan."

He smiles simply in reply and helps Kurt up. Kurt then hugs him tightly, thanking him again.

Kurt went home that night and apologized to his dad about jumping out of the car and disappearing for a few days. He dad simply shook his head at him and told him that he understood that Kurt needed space. Especially now. Kurt hugged him tightly, being sure not to squeeze too tightly.

He sent out a sorry text that night to the glee club to apologize for not showing up to glee rehearsals and messing up slightly at Regionals, even though they won, and that he'd explain on Monday.

He still avoided Blaine, afraid to confront him just yet. Blaine let him have his space, which he was thankful for. He wasn't even sure why he was afraid to speak to Blaine, he just was.

And he went into school on Monday with ideas swimming around his head, trying to figure out what to do. And when his best idea seemed like it could go to hell, he told Matt about it. Matt was happy to see him back on the wagon and assured him that he would help him through it, and that they'd be okay, seeing as this decision would affect them both.

So Kurt went into glee that afternoon after he was sure everyone else was already in there. He grabbed a mic stand and put it in the centre of the room. Everyone went quiet when they saw him and waited.

Kurt took a minute to build up his courage before nodding at the band without a word to everyone else and the music started. He sung softly, looking at his feet.

There's a place that I know

It's not pretty there and few have ever gone

If I show it to you now

Will it make you run away

Or will you stay

Even if it hurts

Even if I try to push you out

Will you return?

And remind me who I really am

Please remind me who I really am

Kurt's voice cracked and he finally looked up; taking in everyone's slightly confused faces. Blaine looked troubled. Upset.

Everybody's got a dark side

Do you love me?

Can you love mine?

Nobody's a picture perfect

But we're worth it

You know that we're worth it

Will you love me?

Even with my dark side?

He kept singing ignoring the tears that fell from his eyes. His vision became slightly blurred through the tears, but he kept powering himself through it.

Don't run away

Don't run away

Just tell me that you will stay

Promise me you will stay

Don't run away

Don't run away

Just promise me you will stay

Promise me you will stay

Will you love me? ohh

Everybody's got a dark side

Do you love me?

Can you love mine?

Nobody's a picture perfect

But we're worth it

You know that we're worth it

Will you love me?

Even with my dark side?

He wiped his eyes and looked at everyone properly. Blaine had tears in his eyes, and Matt was looking at him supporting, while everyone else looked really confused.

He takes a deep breath before speaking, looking back at his feet again.

"… Urm… I'm sorry for being… a little out of it, lately. I just… I've been going out of my mind with everything that's going on with me. Matt's really the only one who truly understand, no matter how much I've tried to explain it to someone else. And Basically… what I'm trying to say is…"

He looks up, staring at them.

"I'm a vampire."

.

I'm sorry this took so long to update. I've been so stressed lately.

I rewatched season 1 of The Vampire Diaries for Vicki's transition and also used Elena's current one to help me. I forget things easily so it helped me write this chapter, as well as watching On My Way again.

The song was Dark Side by Kelly Clarkson

Bianka and Cooper will be in it more, as well as Theo and Kaiser.

But as for next chapter: angst. Reactions, basically. But obviously they aren't going to believe him, right?

But who knows? Maybe there's a vampire hunter among them? Maybe there isn't?

Haha.

Thanks for reviews and faves and alerts, everyone:)

And also, don't worry about The Break Up. Klaine are endgame.
