When they awaken in the morning, Buffy and Angel find themselves curled around each other. They both freeze, afraid to ruin the moment. Anyone (except possibly Cordelia) can see that they both really want to kiss the other.
Buffy decides to take the initiative and leans in to kiss him. Slowly she inches her face closer to his. Angel meets her halfway and they engage in a passionate, love-filled kiss.
Of course right then Dawn decides to knock on the door to wake up Buffy for breakfast, successfully ruining the moment in true younger sibling fashion.
"Buffy! Mom made chocolate-chip pancakes! Get your butt out of bed!" She yells through the door.
"Coming!" Buffy shouts back, turning her head away from Angel's. She looks back to Angel and then proceeds burst out in laughter. "For a minute there, I thought we were back when I was in high school!" She manages to let out between laughs.
Angel looks at her, thinking she's finally cracked under the pressure. Then he realizes the logic, and humor, and chuckles.
"Come on Ionoun. We should get dressed. And you need to eat." He reminds her. Buffy sighs and rolls out of bed. She stretches once she's on her feet, allowing Angel to see the small of her back as her tank top rides up. He makes a small appreciative sound low in his throat. Buffy smirks and glances over her shoulder at him.
"See something you like?" She asks flirtatiously, wiggling her butt slightly.
"Most definitely. And if she doesn't get dressed right now, I may be forced to do something about that." Angel answers, growling.
"Mmm, promises, promises." She teases with a grin.
Angel groans. "Buffy get dressed. I'm sure your mom and sister will be wondering where you are."
Buffy sighs again and grabs an outfit, leaving again to change in her bathroom. She takes another shower and changes into her clothes. She pulls her hair up into a high ponytail and applies some light makeup.
When she re-enters her room Angel is gone. She frowns in confusion, double checking the room. She makes her way downstairs and sees him sitting at the island in the kitchen chatting with her mom. Sunlight hit his, now covered, chest and highlights his hair. Buffy's eyes go wide and she dashes over to him, grabbing his arm and leading him into the dining room.
"Angel, what were you doing?" Buffy whisper-yells.
"Talking to your mother. Should I not be?" He asks, brow crinkling. Buffy shakes her head.
"No. You should not." She tells him. "I haven't told her anything yet." She reminds him.
"Don't worry mo grá, I only told her my news. I didn't mention your immortality. I agree, it is safer to keep this within the group." He reassures her, rubbing one hand down her arm. She relaxes at his touch.
"Thank you." Buffy sighs, looking up at him with a smile. "How is it you always understand me perfectly?"
"Practice." Angel replies with a smirk. "I also have a special part of my brain that translates 'Buffy-speak', it's a limited edition."
"Ha ha. Whoever told you that you were funny is, or was, insane." Buffy tells him sarcastically.
"I'll be sure to tell Drusilla the next time I see her." He replies, deadpan as always. Buffy barely holds back a very attractive snort at that. He smiles down at her. "Come on mo grá, you need to eat." He reminds her, steering her back into the kitchen.
"Good morning Buffy." Her mother greets her, sliding over a plate of pancakes when she sits down.
"Morning, Mom." She replies before taking her first bite of pancakes. She moans at the taste of the chocolate chips. "I think these are your best pancakes yet." She compliments her mom with her mouth full.
"Don't talk with your mouth full, Buffy." Dawn tells her sister, with a pointed look. Buffy decides to be the mature one and sticks her tongue out.
"Sure thing, pumpkin belly." She responds once she swallows her food. Angel sits back and watches the siblings bicker, exchanging a knowing look with Joyce. Eventually Buffy finishes her food and they leave to go to the meeting at Giles's.
