I know you guys are going to be really upset with me for not updating this sooner. I am sorry but there has been so much going on that I am surprised I have any hair left from all the tugging it is getting.

It All Started…

Chapter Five

Iruka smiled as he stroked a hand over his newest 'present' from his stalker. He still couldn't believe when he had found the kitten curled up in the basket at the end of his bed. It had been the one he had taken from one of his students to the animal shelter that he had wanted to keep but couldn't because his place didn't allow for pets. That hadn't been the only surprise with it had come the deed of a house and a nice plot of land with it.

He still couldn't believe it. The house was perfect. It was everything he needed and would give him even greater privacy from the fans that wouldn't seem to stop.

Yes he still had to deal with all the people that found him so eligible to their eyes. He had to dodge them on many occasions and he could swear he heard someone laughing on several of the times he had outwitted people and he liked the sound of it. He hoped that it was because who ever it was had a good sense of humor. Especially since he/she got the tricks he did and figured out how to open the more tricky package ideas he had come up with. It showed that they had a keen mind and loved a good joke.

Iruka was getting tired of the courtship and wanted to head for the home stretch. Maybe if he left a note to that effect his would be stalker would finally show his/her hand….(though from the laugh he had heard he assumed it was a man).

He wondered what he should write to get the attention of the man and get what he wanted. Who ever it was was almost as much in his mind now as Ibiki Morino was.

He stood staring into the window of the house he had bought for his little hunter-nin and watched as he stared into space absently petting the kitten he had also given as well.

I think it is almost time to make my final move. He thought as he moved to stop the person that was trying to sneak through the defenses that the not-chunnin had set around his home.

He might as well save the effort of setting it up again.

Iruka stood in front of the fifth hokage and tried not to roll his eyes as she continued to rant about her efforts to find out who his stalker was. She wanted to know who it was almost as much as he did and he was hard put not to shout at her about it. He was making a huge effort to get this man/woman and he didn't want anyone to interfere in it.

"….and you know who ever the hell this is will have to pay for any and all damages that have happened." She finished as she sat back in her seat.

"What damages?" Iruka stated flatly as he folded his arms over his chest. "The only damages were to the wall of the mission room and that disappeared two days after it happened."

Tsunade glared at him but didn't contest what he said. The fact was that everything that ended up damaged was fixed with out so much as a whisper of who could have done it. It was getting on her nerves as much as Shizune's as well.

Iruka glared at her daring her to say anything else on the subject. He wasn't in the mood for this. He had had to deal with Gai this morning and Anko at noon. He was getting way to much attention and he had to find out a way to stop it and soon.

"Tsunade-hime," Shizune said from the door to the office. She looked extremely nervous. "Ibiki-san wishes to speak with you."

Iruka sighed and moved to the side out of the way he knew that the hokage was no where done with pestering him and wouldn't let him leave till she was damn well good and ready for it.

"Hokage-sama." Ibiki stated as he entered the room. "You have to do something about this right now."

The blond sannin rolled her eyes and sighed at the I&T head. "What is it I am supposed to do about what?

"My personnel are being distracted by that sensei everyone is talking about so much." Was the flat rejoinder.

Iruka winced and nearly blanched at the idea that formed in his head. He hoped his stalker wouldn't hurt Ibiki for what he was about to suggest.

"Then why don't you date me and everyone will stop chasing me." Iruka growled out the challenge and held his breath waiting for a response. The answer he got was completely unexpected.

"Name the time and place. I will make it as public as possible so people will get the message and get back to work." Ibiki retorted as he turned slightly to look into the eyes of the sensei he was talking about.

Tsunade looked on in amusement as the two men squared off against each other.

Iruka couldn't believe it Ibiki was going to do it. He was actually going to go on a date with him. He sighed and sat down as he stared at the paper he held in his hand and his writing.

Tonight I have a date with Ibiki Morino. Please do not do anything to hurt him he may be able to alleviate me of my fans.

He stared down and reached over for his pen to add a little more.

I would also like to meet you sometime soon.

He tried not to let his nerves get the better of him. A date with his crush and the possible meeting with the stalker was more than he had ever hoped for.

The hunter-nin placed the message in the spot that the man left his little notes and presents.

He read over the note that had been left for him. He would test his little dolphin and see how well the match truly was. He wanted him for keeps. He didn't want to share him. Not with anyone.

Iruka stared wide eyed at the note that had been left for him. His date with Ibiki was in less than fifteen minutes and he would have to figure out what to do in that time.

I will meet you here at midnight tonight. Don't be a minute late or I will be gone.

The not-chunnin crumpled the note in his hand and tried not to wince at the paper cut he received for it. Which was more important? His stalker or his chance to make his crush see him as the man for him.

He began to pace in the foyer of his home as he tried to decide what to do. He had slowly fallen in love with his stalker and the man was beginning to replace Ibiki Morino in his heart but he still loved the head of I&T. This was a problem he had never had to deal with in his entire life. Trying to decide which was more important.

He looked up when he heard the knock on his window… it would seem that the choice was made for him. Work came first. He wondered what was so important that he was called away from such an important thing as stopping the rampaging ninja trying to win his hand in love.

It had better be really good to pull him away from such an important day as this one was turning out to be. He quickly wrote out a note and hoped that his stalker would understand.

Tsunade sighed and rummaged through the file before her and rubbed her eyes again. There was no other way. She had to send him out again. Hopefully he would be understanding. She really wanted for the ninjas of her village to get back to usual but this was something that needed doing and needed it badly.

Ice Hawk appeared before and waited for her to get down to business. She handed him the file and waited for a response. All she got was a tensing of muscles a nod and the hunter-nin was gone in a small sound of displaced air.

It would be done by the end of tomorrow and hopefully Ibiki Morino would understand that he would have to wait for his date.

"Shizune send a message to Ibiki that he will have to wait for his date till the day after tomorrow." She stated as she went back to the files of paper on her desk.

Shizune slipped out of the office leaving her boss to go about her business.

He looked at the note that had appeared on his desk and nodded. He would allow this. Business always came before pleasure. He hoped that there would actually be some to come.

He jotted out a note and sent it to the spot before returning to his own paper work.
